Yes, dead links truly are the ultimate Macross experience...? I'm assuming its either the PS1 DYRL game or VFX-2. But don't fret, while I've never hacked my PSP, its my understanding that they're pretty good about keeping their firmware up to date with the official. By the time Ultimate Frontier comes out, unless it ships with the absolute newest of the time (which is doubtful) you should be safe.

Which is why we need a PS3 minimum 16 player multiplayer Macross Ace/Ultimate Frontier style game. Damn Sony for not including an online wifi feature that works like adhoc (as of yet, I've only seen MG:PO pull one off), and for not brigning over adhoc party to the U.S. so we can play it with no/less lag.

Nope, those missile pods are DYRL specific, much like the newer VF-1A head design. And has there been any comfirmation that HG has the DYRL merch license? Or just speculation due to their occasionally dipping their toes into it. Hell, I'd say their attept at a VF-1R was highly dubious, and borderline on crying for a lawsuit from Kawamori.

Agreed, the cartoon sucked major ass, not that I have much faith in a remake either.

I thought jiji was the equivilent of obachan. Not that I know any Japanese aside from what I hear in anime.

Easiest way? Equip Kakizaki's pilot skill (the big steak that's second to last on the bottom row), go through the mission as normal without using SP, and you should have 2 full bars by the end boss fight. As soon as it starts, hit the Kakizaki skill, and as your barrier explodes, charge at Kamjin as fast as you can. It should be strong enough to take him out, but just in case melee him while it's doing damage to ensur ea quick kill. If you have trouble finding him, he's usually around the bow area of the Macross, hold the target button + up on the crosspad to get a higher chance of locking on to him (he'll be the only enemy in a Glaug, not to mention he has his name over his tarrget bar). All that should ensure you get SS, though you may want to make sure you melee all the Regult's that attack right before you go for the last crate, just to make sure you get the grapple bonus.

It's not an ordeal to update the firmware, in fact it's quite easy. Hell, a lot of games come with the necessary firmware update they need to play them (usually right on the xmb under the load game option). The problem comes in when people have hacked firmware, that they use to do various awesome things, like play emulated games & such. These people can't run the official firmware, and have to wait for a new revision of the hacked firmware to be released.

Also, those missile pods are DYRL designs, shouldn't be on any robotech toys period.

You know, I keep meaning to watch this show, but I heard Funi was interested in picking it up, so I figured I'd wait for the DVD/Bluray if it happens.

The Transformers 2 Thread--A Michael Bay thread
Keith replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I think it had more to do with all the robot dialogue feeling like an ADR afterthought. None of the robot dialogue this time felt like there were actual characters speaking "to" anybody, just felt like random words being strewn about. -
Regular S rank on all missions (except for ex), I honestly don't recall if you have to get the free play missions too, but I don't think you do. A quick way to check what you need though, go itno your records, second tab down I believe, it'll show your ranks for all missions. and let you know which ones you still need S's on. Once you unlock it, you have to 1: max out the regular stats on any given fighter, and or use any given figthter up to 10 times once their base stats are maxed. After that, you'll get a prize message letting you know that the limiter has been released for that particular fighter. Hey, I just noticed on the official site http://b.bngi-channel.jp/psp_macross/ there's a new gold button at the bottom middle that says something about the Frontier movie & PSP game, can anyone translate that? It mensions 11/21.

I actually have a feeling we'll get much of that this time, the VF-9, VF-11, VF-14 etc should all be in the M3 campaign (otherwise why even mention it), variable Glaug is also highly likely. I also can't imagine there wouldn't have been a huge fan outcry for FPKK (Fast Pack Klan Klan) after ther first game, it just makes so much sense! And since they already mentioned Flash Back 2012, there'd be no sense in "not" including the VF-4. Remember, they never show everything on the official site, even with the Gundam games. A lot of it still winds up being surprise as you unlock things. Other things yet still have to be unlocked as the passwords get released a month or so after the game comes out. So not everything you see at the start will be the whole of the game. Not to mention some stuff you'll have to wait until you get the stat limiter release, so you can SS the harder missions. I don't doubt this game will have some sweet surprises
-
Sounds about right, they've gotta save something for the innevitable 3rd game, and the Frontier movies themselves wouldn't provide enough fodder. AT this point, I'd consider the VF-4, and Fast Pack Klan Klan immense triumphs. Especially since the VF-4 has yet to appear in a decent game.

Kinda like "Southern Cross takes place a hundred or so years later ona colony world that comes across aliens that turn out to be alien modified decendants of previous colonists." Oh wait, that's the original story.. or "Mospeada takes place..." no that would just turn out to be the original story too... Hmm, they couldn't possibly have gotten away with leaving the stories significantly "more" intact could they?!!
-
"NEW EPISODES WITH CONTINUING STORY!!" It was my way of saying I just watched Endless Eight-7.
-
Hmm, I always heard it as "Milia," so that's what I go with
-
Damn I'd kill for Macross 7 on bluray!
-
Sweet, then now I want a sweet Tron remastered Bluray, and that Space Paranoids game multiplayer onilne at the playstation store!!!
-
There was no real "enemy," just 2 companies churning out clones for war/entertainment, etc. As for the teacher, I think he was Haruhi Suzumiya!
-
This weeks episode of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood was indeed awesome, i really like where the story is going this time, makes a lot more sense even if the episode count is shorter.

To be fair, we don't know that we won't get original series operators, Misa was a surprise in the last game. Curiosity though, why go with the "Emilia" spelling, if you're going to call her mother "Miria.' When in fact we all know that it's "MILIA THE PRESIDENT!"
-
Play the game enough, and you'll get all the wallpapers. As for the Minmay thing, I'm sitll not 100% convinced thats real. Does anyone else on MW have Minmay/ An ingame screenshot with Minmay piloting the VF-19Kai??

Battlestar Galactica Discussion III
Keith replied to kaiotheforsaken's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Reading up reviews on the set itself, is it true they used cardboard sleeves for the disc's? If so, what the hell were they thinking?? Blade Runner fit nicely into a 5 disc single sized case, and I can't imagine there's a shortage of those. Hopefully the show will be eventually repackaged in a more space & scratch-resistent friendly packaging. -
Little bit of a site update. Now the official page lists the VF-2SS & Gilgamesh in their own Macross II tab. I find it hard to believe they'd add a whole tab for 2 guest mecha, so it looks a bit more like we may be a full Macross II campaign. That, and the system tab shows a mystery support character alongside Sivil, Sheryl, Ranka, Minmay, Sara, & Myung. Very likely to be Ishtar at this point.

Is there any way to petition games for the Japanese playstation store? If a game needed to be up there, it's DYRL!
