If WB really wants to put the right money behind the whole project, the new "movie" would be the right opportunity to start things fresh, and could be a legitimate reason why the SC sequal has been put on hold. Problem with the Shadow Chronicles? (aside from the obvious stuff) They couldn't use any ties to the original series. What WB has to do is the one thing HG hasn't had the nuts to do in the past 20 some odd years, hire someone to make new designs, and change some character names. -Roy Fokker: Absolutely has to go. Likely outcome (here's one for free Yune), change his name to "Roy Hunter," and make him "Rick's" actual brother. -Lynn Minmay: Again, absolutely has to change, anything would really do. -Britai & Exedor: Again, absolutely needs to change, and while they're at it, just integrate the male/female alien fleet all together. Take away the Macross "Protoculture" aspect, save some screen time, etc. -SDF-1 has be have a new classification, and is likely the main source of turmoil since they've already continued to use SDF-3. SBF-1 (Space Battle Fortress? Since they liked calling it that anyway), or anything equally inane would work. Since they never showed a hull inscription in Shadow Chronicles, they can pretend it was always changed to SBF... -"Macross" City, Macross Island, etc, all has to go, SBF City, SBF Island etc is a workable replacement. -SBF-1 needs to lose its transformation. Plain & simple, no other Robotech battleships transform, as such the main ship shouldn't either. And of course the hardest workaround, replacing the Valkyries. Likely outcome? Some type of Sparta/Legioss hybrid, maybe jazzed up with modern fighter stylings. Second hardest part? Giving their new alien named threat a line of ship & mecha designs. Solution? Blend in the attackers of Southern Cross with the heroes of Macross. Done right, the most downtrodden red headed stepchild of the robotech franchise could be its savoir. Have the Robotech Masters attack to start with, looking for their own downed ship, save some time, and leave an easy jump into a re-worked Mospeada story, followed by SC. This in my opinion would be the quickest & easiest way to get a re-worked Robotech storyline to work, without having to step on Macross's toes. Once this is done, HG can anime new SC sequals using characters & names from their new franchise beginning, solving most of the problems inherent with losing Macross. F^ck you know what, hire me as a consultant, pay me a few hundred thousand, & I'll give you perfectly workable concepts. And as a bonus, I won't even burn down your offices, I'll just blast some good ole Fukuyama & May'n while I'm there.

I don't know, personally I'd like to see the "Shadow" series continue, regardless of the sadistic intentions I may have behind that desire. The Robotech fanbase really does need something of their own to be fans of.

The first wave you shouldn't even need to transform. There's one large Vajra to contend with, and he should be your first lock (if not, up + target = L-Vajra), fire a few volley's of your rifle while in fighter, boost dodge if you need, and he's toast. As for the SP melee, you need to SP boost into your target first, then immediately SP melee, it'll get you in so clsoe they won't have room to dodge.

Ok, just finished Shikabane Hime, and the ending represents one of the things I love most about anime. Hold it, let it track the target, and when you feel comfortable, let go, you'll have a higher chance of hitting things that way. As for sad sniper, once you get to the 3rd wave, you should be in a near constant state of boost. Fighter when you're running away, Battroid when you're attacking. Use the high manuever missiles, but note that you can't fire missiles "after" initiating a boost. You can start firing missiles first, continue to hold, and then boost while firing. Not sure why it's setup that way.

Tatsunoko also helped fund DYRL, and apparently wound up with merch rights for that too. Difference being, they don't have distribution rights for the animation, so no HG release of it. The matter of who has rights to distribute DYRL is a convoluted one. A company called Kiseki/Best films used to distribute it in the U.S. & Europe, likely asia too since they're the ones that contracted the HK dub (aka clash of the bioroids). As to the matter of where they got the license & masters is anyones guess, the company went under almost a decade ago, leaving no one to ask.

X is actually ZZ mixed with Orguss, and in it's ZZ-ness carries on the Z tradition. I don't know how you can't see the Zeta in Wing though, really, Wing was a lot too blatant, especially the later half. SEED was so bold it copied Zeta 2 series in a row! You say it's closer to 0079, but if you look at the flow of events as the sseries goes along, it drops its "original series ness after the desert fights. Again, I'm not knocking Victory, but as a standalone it coudl actually benefit from a few more ties with Gundam history, it almost stands out as odd with its level of technology & broken off contact with the colonies. Turn-A handles these issues much better.

You have to avoid Gigil until the very end, worse yet, you have to worry about Gamlin taking out Gigil. So basically: -Don't use a wingman -Take care of all the containers first -Melee all grunts -switch your target immediately if you lock on to Gigil -When everyone else is gone, take out Gigil before Gamlin does. Another helpful hint, target switch + L1 will clear your targetting system, which helps for finding the drop location for containers, instead of being stuck locked onto a target accidentally.
