I just wish they'd release some news on a date for the final game. At this point, this is a huge tease.

That sounds like Data Integration Thought Entity talk.....BURN HIM!

What idiot uploaded those clips? The playback, at least on the audio, is too slow. Very bizarre. It's been a while since I've watched LLA though. I almost forgot how hilarious Jim was, they even gave him the absolutely most guilty expression on his face as Yellow's leaving In the apocolypse, there's no such thing as lolicon lol

Ok, I'll be honest here. The real reason why I actually purchase things like "The Sentinels" & "Shadow Chronicles" is because I want to see HG branch Robotech into a new original content direction. I actually support that, as a Macross fan, because I believe that if the HG staff are able to pull their heads out of their asses, they'd be able to both give their fanbase something to be a fan of, and finally be able to stop trying to smother the Macross license. Unfortunately, every step forwards they take, is inexplicably met with a blowback significantly futher away from their starting point. Will they be able to change before going under? Actually, both World Events & Voyager managed to do something that HG inexplicably fails at. Support the original license without trying to smother it. Go take a look at Voyager Ent's page, what will you find? A ton of news on the recent animated & live action Yamato movies. Does HG promote any of the recent Macross Projects? Of course not, because they feel entirely threatened by them. Back to LLA though. I just don't see how HG can use it. Aside from the various canon discrepencies, there's no way they can change the fact that Aisha's tits are significantly smaller than Ariels

Macross Plus - interpretations of the ending
Keith replied to Nicaragua's topic in Movies and TV Series
Which gooey stuff were you referring to? ! -
If you've already watched DYRL & Plus, then by all means, it's time to watch 7. Prepaire to have your world rocked.

Considering this demo probably still has much of the PSP game engine in it, the Loading screen was to be expected. Will it be taken out of the final? Who knows, it may have been left there just to give us a peak at the Sheryl version of the control setup. i was actually referring to the Gundam games in the Battle/Assault lineage. The Vs games are cool, but they don't have the same meat, and sorely lack the weapon switching option.

That sir, makes you a "Macross" fan!

Side Story means it's not a direct follow up to, not a complete contradiction of. Don't get me wrong, I love "Love Live Alive", it just doesn't work with their current wonky canon of completely retconing the end of Mospeada.
-
I reccomend you not listen to this person.

There's really no purpose to them doing Love Live Alive at this point. What's new there doesn't gel well with Shadow Chronicles at all.

Watch that scene again, then you come back and tell me. -
The plot for the sequal is simple. Goose never died, the whole Top Gun excursion was a setup from the start. It was all designed to make Goose "look" like he was dead (read body already floating in the water with divers waiting to retrieve the real Goose) so he could go on to his next top secret CIA operative mission, and dump that obnoxious wife. Goose was initially a plant put in place to keep Maverick from really knowing what happened to his father, until something blonder was sent in to replace him...

Like I said, I don't think it would be so much a licensing of Astro Plan, but more of a licensing of the CG models used in Astro Plan, with Tommy Yune's muscle bound freaks mixed in.
-
Actually, those stats only stand for the U.S. fanbase. 7 was actually the most popular series until Frontier arrived, and all across the board, II has been the most hated.
-
While true, the new animation in Love Live Alive is leaps and bounds above that in The Shadow Chronicles, i don't think it's what they're working on. Hell, it wouldn't even take them that long to re-dub it. But let's put the clues together shall we? An HG Robotech fanboy employee goes over to China for a "con" appearance. A new Robotech sidestory is in the works. Clearly, HG have purchased the CG renders for Astro Plan, and are working on a way to stick characters with bigger tits & six packs into them.

Macross 7 is not a Sentai show by any measure, any comparisons to the genre are uninformed at best. Macross 7 is a show featuring a Super Robot pilot in a real mecha universe. That's the trouble those who dislike it seem to have with it. Personaly I think it works incredibly well. But then your general like of it will be measured of how much of an anime fan you actually are. If you're only major exposure has been Macross, and you're not up into most anime-isms as a whole, a lot of it will very well seem strange. But as others have said, many things in current Macross are based on technology vastly past the realm of what was in the first series, but don't mistake the fact that it is still based in technology. Frontier is your major clue here. The level of tech that the Protoculture achieved at the point that they tinkered with Earth, was near Vajra levels. What that means, is that their mecha interface was likely bio-mechanical with an interface similar to that whichi s caused by the V-Type virus. The Nome family line were directly decended from a Protoculture female pilot, and as such, Sara & Mao had a natural interface with the AFOS. Since current U.N. Spacy tech was based off of a downed Supervision Army (read re-engineered PC vessel), the VF-0 also had roots in the same tech. Bonus, the Nome family earrings (which we know Mao must have had, since they were passed along to Sheryl) work as a booster for said bio-interface. What does this all mean? Mao was able to link up the AFOS & Shin's Zero, & Shin was pulled along with Sara in the fold.

I read somewhere that they're called it "Robotech: This Project Not Yet Named."

What would be the point in even having an F-22 or F-18? We don't have cool fighters anymore, the airforce sucks, no cool planes = suck movie.

Finally figured out how to purge fast packs. L3 + R3!

And there's your answer. I just finished playing the game some more. And it has officially change the way I play MUF forever. I am now a convert on the default control scheme. Also, something no one has mentioned yet, but the freakin' demo uses the PS3's custom soundtrack option. That's right, you can play any demo level & listen to Nyan Nyan Service Medley - Special Serving. This also bodes well for the first game. Note that so far, custom songs override all other music, including pilot specials (Sheryl & Ranka). And even better, it continues to play seemlessly, even through the loading screens. I've also figured out the secret of the red 25S. For some reason, if you use it during the first 5 stages it's red. But if you use it duirng the 6th stage, it's the Klan Klan custom paint. This game is gonna be so good, I may never need to buy a Macross toy again.

No need for doubt. The whole purpose of this demo is to preview the full game. The only real question, is how far along into production is it.
