The Amazing Spider-Man, on Blu-Ray/DVD Nov. 9, 2012
Keith replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Mommy, why is that man sodomizing Spider Man? Who knew Spider-Man could be so homoerotic. Every single picture here is easily misconstrued in hilarious ways. -
You know, as bad as that is, I don't hate it. Maybe I've just been dulled by Voltron 3D, The Sentinels & Shadow Chronicles, and the like.

Agreed. I would have much preferred an all Qui-Gon ghost test fest instead. As is, we have no real concept of where they were for those 3 episodes. An alternate dimension ship? Who the F%ck built & lost that technology. But whatever. The real coup for these episodes was showing that the Jedi/Sith aren't at the full evolution of the force. and opens up potential for Lucas if he actually wanted to pursue post movie stories.- 1217 replies

So anyway, how many years until the robotech 2011 project is relased?

I've now finished all main, extra (including the new 3rd password), survival, & freeplay missions, and maxed out my shop. I'm only at 98% mission progress, so it looks like we're in for a few more passwords. There's definately no YF-29, VF-2JA, or secret mecha in general. Looking at things a bit more closely, I'm also starting to doubt we'll be able to raise pilot stats. Unless it truly is the last unlockable, and it changes the end mission & pilot progress displays, they seem to have removed it, leaving Academy mode the soul source for raising stats. So I wonder if that final secret will be an ultimate style mode, or something totally unexpected. Also, wow, Fast Pack Klan Klan is a lot more fluid, and much more detailed this time around.

I was honestly a bit dissapointed with the memory erase + probably a dream that it looks like only Anakin remembers (Obi Wan & Ahsoka don't acknowledge his last comments), but it was expected. One thing I did notice, the model for Anakin sure has a lot of Jake Lloyd in it. Man I can't wait for the movie bluray set in september.- 1217 replies

Only one secret left to unlock, and it's either going to be that, or this games equivilent of ultimate mode.

Despite the volumes of text that I can't read, academy mode is actually pretty fun. My brother swears he got an alternate last mission where Michel sniped Battle Galaxy. Well, maybe not 100%, but a hell of a lot closer than in previous games. They used a few nice tricks in this one to zoom ships in & out depending on how close you are to them. And if you land on one, your mecha will shrink in size to land on it. It looks pretty cool. And of course I'm forgetting the most important change of all. Battle Frontier no longer has its cannon mounted to the shoulder. I can't believe it took them 2 games to fix that.

In Highlander, the Hghlander killed all the other Highlanders, and gained the Highlander prize. How could there possibly be anything after that?

Robotech fans are finally starting to notice the smell off of that rotting decaying corpse they call a franchise. Look what happened in the past couple years: -Tommy Yune has cockteased them 50 too many times. He does nothing, he turns out nothing, he will in the end give them absolutely nothing. -Their true savoir of the franchise, the man they always knew would come back and bring them the epic reobotech follow through they deserved died. Now they have nothing but Tommy Yune, and he does absolutely freakin' nothing! -Robotech.com has become an insane asylum full of the most self loathing remnants of the fandom. They hate everyone including themselves, and refuse to expand their interests outwards. -WB has silently killed their last hope ace in the hole for a revival. With no live action movie, there is no hope for re-invigorated interest in the franchise. With Tommy Yune in charge, there's no hope of someone else running with any potential remake/sequal. Transformers has been remade time and again, Thundercats & Voltron are on the verge of a rebirth. But Robotech? Nada, because Tommy Yune does nothing but tease of things he might do, but probably won't. Hell, at this point, I doubt even the Shadow Chronicles really exists, I think that was just a bit of Inception that Yune played on everyone. So yeah, any smart fan has moved on to other things. Take a look here, the most sensable & sane of the Robotech fanbase who want to remain fans have embraced Macross on these forums. The ones who refuse to acknowledge the existence of anything but Robotech hang back and abuse each other. As for why there aren't a ton of Macross podcsts, why would there be. We have active new content, and "in general" we tend to openly delve into other fandoms.

What you call minor improvements, I call subtly awesome major improvements. Don't get me wrong, surface wise, this game has the same content by and large. But when you factor in how much better it's implemented here, it really is almost an entirely new game. Like I said, the little individual ways that different models hold gunpods, subtle hovering motion animations, the completely new level of detail on everything, the nice little trick they used to put the Valkyries & capitol ships in scale, and tihs game's true coup, the extra missions. I'm only about half way through them, but there are some truly intense mission scenario's in there. There are also a lot more than in previous games. And this games best addition? BOBBY! Dude, either watching him go apesh!t in story missions, or having him as your wingman, Bobby is the absolute sh!t. Add Bobby + Exedor as your operator for even more hilarity. This game exudes 100% Macross fan love from the developers.

If they do DLC, hopefully it'll be the same way they did for ACE-R, just a quicker way to unlock something. Since full DLC would bone U.S. PSN accounts. As for how many hi-res models, the simple answer is "all of them." The VF-25 was beautiful in that demo, and every other valkyrie (except for the Metal Siren) will be equally beautiful. Dude, the wing lights!

Doubt the JA's there at this point, it would have been in the Macross 2 campaign proper. As for the YF-29, we'll have to wait until all of the passwords are out to know for sure.

Robotech causes people to stick Robotech music in Macross Triangle Frontier, a true crime against nature.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v3.0

Skip the sidestories, and head straight on to F91 & Victory. Victory makes the tone of Z look like ZZ. -
Agreed, a multi-platform (cross compatable), or NGP release would be perfect.

Ok, I've got the regular campaign all beat & S/SS'd. Still need to work on extra, survival, & whatnot. And I'd just like to say that the team who puts this game out are the hardest working guy's in video games. I don't know what kind of budget they have to work with, I'm sure it's not big enough, but many thanks for all they do. It looks like the Macross II campaign unfortunately got pushed back, and had to be slapped together. Obviously Utahime & the new renders/animations had to come first. Hell, the PS3 demo I'm sure cut into a lot of their schedule. All is understandable, since the results are quite outstanding. I've still got a lot left to unlock, but I can't wait to see what they're cooking up for the next game. Oh, and the Metal Siren truly is the ugliest thing to grace the Macross universe. It makes the Zentradi flying turds look like VF-1's. Also, what I thought was Valgo was apparently the new render for Glabil. Foiled again!
-
Yup, if this isn't a demo for a full game, then it's the biggest cocktease in videogame history.
-
And steal digital music, and go on insane youtube tirades. It also leads to severe bounts of uncreativity.

Stick with it, the ending isn't the most rewarding, but it's got some good reveals towards the end. -
Agreed, very Iron Giant.

Despite temptation I'm still playing in canon order, and damn, there is soo much more detail in this game. Finally the blunt cones on fast packs & boosters are gone. There's a lot more panel lining & fine detail in the texture's themselves. Ships finally take on a true super dimension grandure. Animations have been improved even more, with unique little movements matching the animaton much more closely. Hell, even the colors seem more vibrant. I've played through academy mode twice now. The first time I pretty much botched it, ending it way too soon (probably ran out of HP?), and nerf'd my characters SP & general stats (accidentally). The second time I played a lot more attention, and tried to keep the 3 different color stats even. It looks like you get multiplied points for lining up either the same character, or characters they have close relationships with together. The second playthrough I did minimal dating (had to date Sheryl a couple times though, I mean come on). And ifgured out which option regends your MP (and skips a turn too apparently). This time I made it all the way to the end, and the last event was the fight with holo-Ranka & Battle Galaxy. Got ending credits & everything. The important thing regardless of how you do, is to level up your SP stat first. Basicaly if you don't level up your SP, your pilot won't have the ability to do SP specials. I maxed out my guage first, then bought a couple preferred pilot & auto skills, then spent the rest on base stats. I ended up with everything being around the mid 30's which is decent. Having developed a better player character, I noticed that the lock-on problems I was complaining about earlier have gone away. Right now I'm just barely into DYRL, but can honestly say this game is well worth the upgrade. Missions may appear the same, but more detail & love have gone into them. Mecha are definately a bit bigger & better detailed, though I still feel spoiled after the PS3 demo. I don't know if it's two seperate teams that work on these Macross games, and the Gundam Battle/Assault games, but if so, then the Macross team is the clear winner. The only thing Assault Survive did better was its version of the custom soundtrack. Instead of little individual song folders, it had one main music folder, and let you assign songs a lot quicker, and even let you change songs mid stage.

Hey, where'd my post from last night go? Anyway, lots of nice subtle details in this game. Take a look at how the VF-1 holds its gunpod when firing now. I'm not sure if the capitol ship models actually are bigger (pretty sure they are), but notice how when you land on one, your Valkyrie shrinks even closer to scale with it. Lots of love in this game.

I've been playing only a bit so far, and a lot of the changes are great, a couple, not so. Firstly, the mecha models are much more detailed. I'm not sure if they're just bigger, or if they added more detail to the already existing ones, but much prettier overall. The capitol ships are indeed much closer to scale in relation to regular sized mecha, another major plus. Gripe #1: WTF, really, no uber bonus for having maxed out Ultimate & Ace saves? Weak. The missile count didn't even carry over like last time. Gripe #2: This one is conditional. For some reason, the target lock options have been removed. You can still switch targets, but moving inbetween big/small targets so far seems impossible. This may be something you have to have a leveled up character to utilize, I'm not sure. Hopefully it's not completely gone, as I love switching between big targets, and say small gun ports. Gripe #3: I still can't figure out why the melee special has been removed, but I can gladly report iti s still present when you hold down triangle. Just what does L+Triangle do now? Any help would be appreciated. I do like how stripped down and slow un-leveled up weaker mecha are so far. They should be slow, it'll make them even more awesome when you spend the time to level them up. All in all, a worthy upgrade so far. Not sure how much loading time the data install saves, but I did it anyway. I just wish they had rewarded long time players more. I do have a question though regarding fast pack experience. Do you have to level up an individual fast pack for all varients of the same fighter? Or just level up fast pack types in general. What I mean is, do all VF-0's have their own Ghost Booster, or does leveling up one Ghost booster apply to all?
