    You guys need to stop being so hard on Kev. He's the guy who invented Robotech cereal. Taking all the leftovers from his nearly empty cereal boxes, and mixin' them together in one bowl.

    Actually, especially during that period, a lot of cel's usually just ended up being thrown away/sold off. Given the video editing style used in FB 2012, it's doubtful it was ever put down on anything higher than videotape stock. So I doubt there's any film sitting around.

    Hopefully they'll consider doing MG 1, 2 MGS & Portable Ops in a second HD bundle. Oh hell, who am I kidding, throw in Snatcher & Policenauts too! MG1, Solid Snake, & MGS would actually make a great combination, all 3 bieng Solid Snake stories.

    The issue with the FB 2012 footage is that it's ben part of the movie for over 20 years. It's just from a crappy VHS source that doesn't upscale even remotely well. That alone justifies re-animating it.

    Problem with doing in movie scenes is obviously that Arihiro Hase is dead. No attempts at a Hikaru since have ended well.

    First pre-E3 news is out. MGS 2, 3 & Peacewalker HD collections with redrawn art & HD resolution. ZOE 1 & 2 same. I'm giddy as all hell. The release will be for both PS3 & 360.

    You know, I just dug out my R2 HD remaster DVD today, and really, even though it's grainy as all hell, a lot of detail was brought back out in that master. At least compared to the first release DVD. A bluray taken from this source should bring back a vibrancy in color and yet more detail. The grain "should" also come out looking less chunky too. The main thing holding them back has to be the FB 2012 bits. There's no way around the fact that it apparently only exists on what looks like videotape masters. The FB 2012 DVD, the old DYRL DVD re-lease, and the more recent DVD all have the exact same issue. They need to pay to completely re-animate that section.

    What's the probability of there being a VF-19 Kai + Sound Booster release? I'm really debating right now on scrounging up enough cash for a current VF-19 Kai, or waiting to see if they're eventually released together. I know there are plans to release the Sound Booster by itself, but if they can be gotten together in one go...

    This is the first time I've really looked at the design, and man, it really looks like Tekkaman Blade. All it needs is a "VOLTEEKKKAAAA!"

    I actually do wish Kawamori had more of an active interest in the U.S. fanbase. If he did, I wonder if he would go for partially funding a re-design for Robotech to give them their own show, in trade for the rights back from Tatsunoko. This in turn would strip HG of the rights, and free them up internationally.
