Damn you guys, now I really do want to see a Samual Jackson cameo where he (as the captain of his own ship) says "you b!tches sank my mutha f^ckin' battleship."

Leave the dogs name alone, anything else would be insulting to actual history & the real people involved. Nobody of any merit will take an issue, just those who want attention.

WTF are you talking about? He's going to have to fight the Dolphin & Whale piloting it. Sheesh, ninja's...

That's what zippers are for.

Yup, second season + Disappearance will catch you up. Also, didn't say the 525 compared with a $2000 model, but I did say that a 12 year old DVD player doesn't compare with the performace of a bluray player in either sound or picture. HDMI & Digital audio + uncompressed audio formats & much higher resolution video compressions will make any DVD player look like VHS in comparison.

Nice, but she totally needs the ears.

Gonna have to call you on that one.a PS3, as well as just about every BD player currently on the market, will put out far superior audio/video to anything a DVD player can. My DVD player is from a close era, a Pioneer DV-525, purchased specifically in anticipation of the AnimEigo Macross box. As for the series sets, no, they're released in seperate chronological order), but there are plenty of places to find out where all the episodes fit together, or if you'd like, I can just post a list.

Since it's a game, they should be able to include badly rendered VF-1R's, Hover Tanks, Transforming Heilcoptors, Transforming Jeeps, and Alpha's.

I should be surprised by this, but instead I'm pretty damned impressed. I love when people customize games.

The Transformers 3 Thread--A Michael Bay Thread

I just hope they fix all the random jumps on the home release. They've made enough money to go back and fix it, now the only question is if they feel entitled not to. -
I think they should badly rip-off the Macross Frontier games, that'd be hilarious.

God man, that DVD player is more ancient than mine (which I still keep because it's mutli-region), get a freakin' PS3 or something! And really, I've watched both seasons intertwined many times now, only the nitpickiest of nitpickers can truly complain about a difference in style. More importantly, you need the season 2 parts of the story to prepaire you for Disappearance, and at this point, the best way to watch the series is in the new 2009 chronological order, though to save your own sanity, you may want to trim Endless Eight down to the first, a random middle, and last episode of that particular arc.

OMG, Nadia is coming out on bluray two, in two $500+ box sets.. I wish I could afford crazy things like that.
-
No..the same style is used in both seasons & the movie.

We know they have a full subtitle script in hand, the only question is whether or not they'll pop it in there. I hope the U.S. DVD's sold well enough for that answer to be "yes."

Gunbuster & Diebuster were originally 6 episode OVA's (6 each that is) that were released on DVD in the U.S. There were also two compilation films compressing both stories into movie format which were each released on DVD & bluray. Now the original Gunbuster OVA is being released on bluray, and will hopefully be followed up by Diebuster.

Here's some more news:

Only suggestion I'd make is that you should pick up the second season as well, since the episodes there actually take place during various points in the first season.

Macross Frontier Movie 2 thread - Now available on Blu-ray/DVD
Keith replied to Tochiro's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Looking at the trailer again, it looks like we're also going to be able to use custom paint schemes. You'll note there are white VF-25 & YF-29's shown. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if the game had a full campaign for both movies (maybe 4-5 missions each) and a save feature this time. Dare we dream of online multiplayer? -
Change made.

It's a side effect of the culture clash created by the way robotech was done. The Japanese are a lot better about letting a character go once their story ends. Things like the U.S. comic industry on the other hand has a nasty habbit of recycling characters infinitum instead of moving on to new ones. When you have "the new generation" dangling Rick Hunter like so much carrot in the dialogue, it's no wonder fans thought he was coming back. And to be fair, he intially was coming back via "the sentinels," but you saw how that whole ordeal fell apart. Now thise is one of the few things that Steve Yune actually does understand, if you dangle Rick Hunter in front of the fans, those who still care will come back. Unfortunately, he also has no idea how to write a story, nor does he believe in delivering "his" fans any real substance in fear that they'll go away once they learn he can't deliver. In the process, they're leaving regardless. Ironic?
