That's a bold faced lie. The shadow Chronicles wasn't dated for it's time, it was dated for 1991!

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
Keith replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
To be fair, "everybody" in the microseries was overpowered. What it still has that this series lacks are things like Anakin's ascention from Padowan to Knight, 3PO's gold plating, and come to think of it, anything pre-Knight Anakin related. If you Consider the MS canon, then it makes sense that this series would pick up so much later into the Clone Wars.- 1217 replies

No doubt Anakin "thought" he killed her, but assuming that both series are related (which I still do considering they continued with the design style, just with CG), then the immediate next time we see Ventress would be in season 1 when she fought Asoka in that engine room.- 1217 replies

CG is where it's at right now, Unicorn is pretty much a special case.

You can argue that Kawamori isn't the end all be all in mechanical design "in your opinion," but in reality, he's pretty much top of the tier.

Which is precicely why I didn't mind (so much) paying $20 fo the digital version of the game, especially since I'm still in the middle of playing it. With no announced release date for the next Macross game, I'd kill to place triangle on the Vita. I just hope we have a new Macross game by fall.
-
I'm still hoping the accessory slot will be used for an external UMD drive (that loads game from UMD onto the memory stick, and doesn't require being constantly plugged in), but we'll see.
-
Kawamori also did some of the future design for Cowboy Bebop, designed the robot dog "Aibo," and did a CG transformation design for an automobile manufacturer a couple years ago.

Looks like it (the credits) are from an analog master. Probably LD or the first DVD release. At that point no amount of cleanup can fix it. This is why they completely redid them for the movie.

If you're going to play the divergent reality game, then ST is in it's 100th divegent reality by now with all the crazy time travel exploits. Besides which, you know damn well there's only one divergent reality in ST, and in it everybody has goatee's! Why would one sihp traveling back in time result in uniform/starship design changes? Who knows, maybe a major player involved in the constitution class design was aboard the Kelvin. More likely, the Klingon's went super agro when Nero attacked them, resulting in more hostile encounters with everybody. And as you know from watching ST:TNG, timelines where starfleet fights more results in uniform changes (Yesturday's Enterprise). More Klingon encounters would result in a need for more firepower & a different allocation of resources. Re-arming the existing fleet of ships would be a higher priority (putting off the design of the Constitution class), and a later design would result in a different design (which is where you have the new movie Consittution class). There ya go, nice & simply explained. Because eventually it still results in the realization that you just slept with female Don Knotts.- 1020 replies

Don't feel bad, personally I'm loving mine, and I only have Katamari & some demo's for it. Legend of Heroes also looks great on it, can't wait to see how PS1 games look (when they're enabled). My only gripe is the only gripe I expected to have, browswer features & file transfering are too locked down. I just hope they give free access to flash & java without apps, and eventually allow for file transfers without that obnoxious file manager program. I also hope they don't figure out how to disable the trick for allowing multiple account content access thorugh one card. Allowing active account switching would eaisly take care of that issue, without having to wory so much about people using "that" for piracy. The next Gundam Battle game can't come out soon enough.
-
The bad stretch must be the fault of the rippers, the credits are 4:3/matted widescreen like the rest of the episode. As for the reasoning, supposedly it's a lost master for the credits issue, but the redone anamorphic movie credits are included as an extra on disc.

If it's any consolation, his thievery isn't exclusive to pirating Japanese animated works. Ever listen to the orugh cut commentary of Heavy Metal? He essentially takes credit for the full production, which is funny since Jonathan Landis doesn't mention him at all in his commentary...

Let's recap: Murphy: Are the Macross games on the Japanese PSN so they can be transfered to the Vita? Me: Nope. You:A pirate server yadda yadda Now, aside from the fact that the Vita is "currently" locked up tighter than a virgin in a convent on a distant mystical island, there's no way uploading a pirated rom of a game that's only available on a UMD is going to get the game loaded onto the Vita. Just not "currently" going to happen. And even if it could, that'd still be "pirating," and not just becauase of the server.

Never got the "Navy" feel from the original series. The movie to me seemed like the best aspects of the original series, mixed with the best aspects of the original crew movies.- 1020 replies

Lol, Macross II's designs were just as good as Kawamori designs? They were angular derivatives, zero originality, and then the fugly Metal Siren mess...

How do you figure that? If something is available for sale, you buy it. First instinct shouldn't be to download an illegal copy. That's not "not waiting," that's intellectual property theft.

Agreed, I actually like the sleek rounded stylings. Only thing I'd change is to stretch the neck forward a bit, lower it, and lower the necelles back a bit to even out the height. How do you figure that? 6 seasons, some 130+ episodes is significantly longer & worse than 1 full movie + 2 with sporatic scenes of Jar Jar.- 1020 replies

It's a mystery expansion slot, no clue what it does, but the possibilities are endless. Personally, I'm hoping for an external UMD drive connector.
