  1. Damn, that's pretty freaking funny!!! I think I just busted a gut laughing at that one, and I ain't bullshitting neither. Hey, I'll have you know, my new replacement word for the "word that shall not be spoken," is: INCONSEQUENTIAL I plan to use it in place of the other banned word, until you guy's get tired of me using it, and then I'll have to resort to something else. Oh well, it pays to own a thesarus. VF-2SS-BloodPhoenix, I wish I could say that his avatar known as "Minmei Giving the Bird" is directed at everyone, but unfortunately, I get the feeling that it's directed at me. It seems like no matter what thread I go to, she's there saying, "Stick it up your arse, ChristopherB!" It's true, we haven't heard anything about the YF-19 resculpt in quite a while. Sincerely, Christopher
  2. EXO, Get it right dude, as much as I've called you one, you should know by now, it's BEOTCH, not freaking biatch! I mean what the hell is that? Forgive my partners in crime, but let me try to answer your question, as opposed to speculating as to what "I" personally want Yamato to make. Currently, Yamato is discussing the: 1/100 VF-0 non-transformable part swapping toy (I don't think many people are "looking forward to this release, so it may not qualify as a reply to your question. ) 1/100 VB-6 Konig Monster 1/60 Max Qrau Yamato Display Stands That's it, noting else that I know of is confirmed to be on the way. Everything else is speculative, and even then, both they could be cancelled at any time by Yamato. Bandai has nothing planned, and Hasegawa has (1) future VF-0 kit pending. Sincerely, Christopher PS: Yes, I intentionally left off your ">" and "<", so there.
  3. A good quality dullcote sprayed over the valkyrie and stickers after they are applied of course, will eliminate any shine, and help them to blend in even more, the surface of the valkyrie will be more realistic, and the valkyrie and decals will be protected from scratches, fingerprints and quite possibly the effects of UV light will be mitigated. Just make sure you cover the cockpit canopy with tape or something similar, otherwise the opacity will be reduced by the dull coat. Another thing I do is take a #2 pencil and very lightly follow the panel lines, prior to applying a dull coat. This is of course presuming you want a valkyrie that appears slightly weathered as opposed to brand new.
  4. Wow, great job! I love the shade of green you used. Looks really nice.
  5. Welcome back Devin! If I remember correctly, the sponsor and logo decals were available via one of the Macross Decal Option Sets, or perhaps one of the clear valkyrie decal sets. Perhaps that is what you are referring to when you mentioned the scan you made. Yes, the one made by DOM using a Yamato 1/60 was absolutely amazing. It did indeed fetch a very good price. Sincerely, Christopher
  6. Neova, Well said my friend! Yes, here at MW we welcome people like "rarityraider" to join and show off their modeling skills. I look forward to seeing all types of models, but especially Macross and Gundam. One of the highlights of my day is coming to the model section and seeing that someone has posted a thread with pictures of model kits. Welcome to MW, and I hope you stick around for a while. Sincerely, Christopher
  7. TheLoneWolf, You can disagree with me, but I think you missed or misunderstood what I was trying to say, which kinda makes it hard for you to not agree if you missed my point. Yes, of course the recent problems in the thread have brought the issue to the forefront, and yes, we have had prior incidents, and unfortunately we will have them again in the future unless people are always vigilant. Perhaps you've done some research, but I'm not sure it happens once a year, but that is inconsequential. What I was implying is that it's easy for us to subscribe the problems to the recent incident and then let our guard down after everything blows over. We need to always be careful at all times, as opposed to being hypervigilant shortly after something bad happens. There is always the potential for this to happen, so we should not let this become situational. Now it's my turn. I disagree with you regarding a pop-up. Everyone, new or not should excercise common sense and not blindly enter into a deal. We already have the straight shooter and deadbeat lists, plus threads like this. If people are going to come here and get screwed over, then most likely they'll get screwed over elsewhere. No one is perfect, including me, but how far does Shawn have to go in an effort to protect people from a privilege and not a right. The sale, trade and wanted threads are an added perk, and creating a pop up seems like an a typical "liberal" solution to protect people from themselves. Caveat Emptor Sincerely, Christopher
  8. Thank you for posting the pictures. I like the step-by-step model building techniques portion.
  9. Nice Gerwalk mode!
  10. cobywan, I understand, and like I said, it wasn't personal. Like my momma always said, "If you ain't got nothin nice to say, don't say nothin at all." I for one lack the skill that both of you posses, but regardless, I think that constructive comments from you would be welcome, because you know what it's like to scratchbuild, and it certainly isn't easy. Good luck to you, and I hope you are able to finish your valkyrie at some point. Sincerely, Christopher
  11. I'll figure it out. I've seen a lot of movies in my day, but that one does not ring a bell. One of my favorite lines from a movie is: "Hey, are you all right?" "Yeah...say, that's a nice bike!" (Clue: stars Agent One's favorite politician)
  12. All right, while we're at it, what the hell does: "Inigo Montoya" mean? Is it Spanish or something?
  13. EXO, Before you ask, I intentionally left off your little ">" and "<" just to piss you off. So there, and while we're at it, I challenge you to a duel. Pistols at dawn. Damn, you scared me for a minute, I had to bust out the Webster's and make sure my use of the word "moot" wasn't all screwed up. All right, I'm quitting "moot" cold turkey, and I'm on the wagon. I'll find another word to use. Maybe it's just me being paranoid, but I swear that your "Giving the Bird Minmei" is directed towards me. It's as though her eyes are looking into my very soul, and saying, "F*ck You, you verbose SOB!" Christopher Edited: Because I am Sofa King We Todd Did
  14. eugimon, Well said. In my opinion, for Yamato to suddenly not include a high level of detail when they have done so in the past, would not make any sense. Of course this may all be moot and a waste of breath, if indeed the pictures do not accurately show all of the detail, or they just haven't handled that aspect yet. Regardless, let me say that I'm really, really excited about the VB-6, and while I'm not a Yamato "ass kisser," the release of a transformable toy VB-6 will be a dream come true. There is no harm in wondering and hoping for the best, but there is no need to get worked up over something when we do not have all of the facts. I appreciate all of the cool stuff Yamato has released, and hope they focus on quality versus quantity, or try to cut corners by continuing to include crappy stickers, or forego the inclusion of realistic detail to save money. Sincerely, Christopher
  15. Mike, Damn, that baby is sweet! Amazing job, love the size and the paint job. The recast looks like it came out pretty flawless. Man, if you can do that kind of a paint job with spray paint, I can only imagine how good it would look if you had used your airbrush. It must have been a lot of work to accentuate the various panels by using different shades of blue. I really like the way it looks, and the yellow is spot on as well. It's also cool to see something besides a VF-1, and I'd be a fool not to get a set of these for myself. Having the landing gear up makes things easier as well. Great job, and I'll be looking forward to the seeing the 19 next. Sincerely, Christopher PS: Mike, how many times have I teased you about your diet cokes? That stuff is for sissy's. I'm sending you a case of Classic Coke.
  16. rarityraider, Welcome to MW! I sent you a PM. Your models are really, really clean. I'm amazed by the level of perfection in your paint lines, the details and the decals. Can't wait to see more. If you do other models, besides valkyries, please share those as well. Talent like yours was not learned via only (2) Macross models, I'm sure. Sincerely, Christopher
  17. Value is in the eye of the beholder. They definitely are very nice kits, I've seen one up close, and the quality is great. Not only that, but they are not that many of them compared to the mass produced Hasegawa version. Resin is a lot more work to produce, but I do agree that the price is definitely high for this kit.
  18. Hello, You mentioned a "real aircraft," do you mean as opposed to a Macross valkyrie, which technically is an imaginary aircraft? You are either implying that your scratchbuilt 1/32 valkyrie would be better than the one created by "MACROSS MODELLING," or you're saying you are no longer making a fictional Macross valkyrie, but rather a "real" aircraft such as an F-14/F-18/etc. (These comments are commonly referred to as sarcasm.) Personally, I surmise that you are implying that your 1/32 scratchbuild will be better than the one posted here, which I think is very negative and condescending. Nothing personal here "Cobywan," but it's usually not cool to come into a thread showcasing someone's hardwork which has received nothing but praise, and make a smart ass comment. This isn't a freaking contest to see who is making a better one, especially since no one has heard about your project in quite a while. We're getting regular updates here (CNC router or not), and yeah, I see room for improvement, but I'm not here talking crap. Let's support our fellow fans, and not put them down. Props, not put downs my friend. Opinions are certainly welcome, especially when posted in a non-haughty constructive manner. Damn, this thread was postive for a while unlike so many others..., here's hoping it will stay that way. Sincerely, Christopher
  19. Wow, you did a great job!!! Yes, please share pictures of your other Macross models.
  20. I'm far less concerned with whether they retract or not. The entire reason for this thread is because Yamato was forced to make gay limp wristed skinny DYRL hands that could retract. duh! Correction: Actually the 1/48 Yamato hands do not retract, they "fold" back into the forearm.
  21. Graham, Thank you for the information. Your mention of the cannon length is precisely the same response that I gave in the very beginning as to why they were a certain length. Several others have said the same after I initially mentioned it, and it makes perfect sense. I have to disagree with you on the panel lines, and if you are going to mention Hasegawa as an example, then surely Yamato is equally culpable, because the panel line similarities are easy to see. Kawamori's lack of inclusion of panel lines may or may not have been deliberate. He might have intentionally not included them, or they could have been an oversight. Hand drawn animation in and off itself does not necessarily lend itself to the inclusion of a high level of detail because the task becomes more onerous, especially when dealing with a task that is by virtue, highly repetitive. Since neither you or I know Kawamori's intentions, I see no harm in companies (Hasegawa/Yamato) taking the time, expense and initiative to provide something that Kawamori neglected for one reason or another. All of this may be moot if Yamato continues to thankfully provide "non-canon" realistic detail/panel lines; however, citing the lineart in and of itself as a basis not to, does not justify in my mind the creation of a VB-6 lacking in detail. I hope Hasegawa and Yamato continue as before, and provide realistic detail regardless of (20) year old line art. Sincerely, Christopher
  22. Actually, camouflage in space does make sense in certain instances. Let me give you a couple of examples, I'm sure there are more. Operating as "close in support" around the Macross. If the valkyrie and fastpacks are painted a color similar to the SDF1 to blend in, they could hide and attack in-coming enemies. Just blend in, pop out and eliminate the threat, and then melt away again. A Low Viz. scheme would be perfect for this. I'm no expert, but as big as space is, there must be millions/thousands of planets with little, to no atmosphere. As such, the fastpacks can and should be utilized. Take for example the moon. The moon is light grey, dark grey, with black craters and so forth. A moon base would be the perfect place to deploy a camouflage valkyrie. And one more example for arguments sake. When Minmei and Hikaru are flying the VT-1 around the rings of Saturn. At least that's where I think they were. But anyway, the VT-1 had their fastpacks on, and if painted to blend in with the planet/rings, they might have had a better chance. It's all speculative, but certainly feasible.
  23. Good luck to all involved, and Rob's assistance is greatly appreciated.

    clear jets?

Carl, Wow, I never knew about the even only version. Besides the clear version, has Hasegawa released any other "event" only kits or box variants that you or anyone else know of? Yet another Hasegawa item I'm missing. Sincerely, Christopher
  25. Love it! That baby is going to look sweet on someone's shelf. Great job Kurt, I'm sure the new owner will be very happy.
