Interesting, I never noticed the portion you circled in red. I wonder if the tailfins, the part you circled and the nosecone addition are borrowed from another model kit, like the drop tank was. Now, if I could only find out which model kit(s).

Hi, Received my booster today, and I love it! Great job. As soon as I get a chance, I'm going to send the remaining balance for my second booster. I can't wait for the launch vehicle. Later, Christopher

Hello, The prices sound very reasonable. I wish that you could make all of theitems listed above, but perhaps if we're patient they will all become available. Rob said that if the GBP is made, it will be the Thunder Hammers version. I presume that your estimate would remain the same. And yes, I would gladly pay $120 for a "Thunder Hammers" kit, and then I would pay $25 for the Hasegawa battroid kit. I'm by no means rich, but I would get a lot of enjoyment out of having something like this to display, and you can't put a price tag on that. Sincerely, Christopher

Omega One, Thank you very much for the information. I am in debt to you. Best wishes, Christopher

tetsujin, Let's not get into semantics. You made a mistake as you admitted, and we're all human and prone to making assumptions. According to popular wisdom, only asses assume. The list was created for anyone who wishes to use it. It is my gift, small as it may be, to my fellow fans. How you use it, and the manner in which you perceive it is for you to choose. It is merely a tool, nothing more. Perhaps you should try to and appreciate the effort put into it, rather than question who it was created for. Honestly, it doesn't matter. A modeler can be a collector, and vice versa, because the two pursuits are not disingeneous to one another. I already explained in detail why the kits were listed under both Bandai and Imai, and I value your input, although restating it will not inherently increase it's merits. The simple solution is to only utilize the portion of the list you want to, nothing more, nothing less. I appreciate the English lesson; however, I am thoroughly familiar with grammar, and like everyone else I am prone to getting into a hurry. I am not so petty as to resort to perusing your posts or the posts of others just to correct insignificant and unintentional errors. That is very childish. Best wishes, Christopher

Official VB-6 Koenig Monster Order Thread
ChristopherB replied to ChristopherB's topic in Model kits
Consider it done. -
Hey AchtungMacross, You sound like a pretty smart guy, maybe we should talk shop sometime. I guess I was wrong after seeing the B-17, because the signatures on the VF-1J could be originals. I realized that some people can write pretty freaking big when they want to. So, we still have the drop tank, fuselage mounted missile rails, and nosecone addition conundrum left to solve. Personally, I credit it to artistic license, where the cool factor overides the realism factor. Later, Christopher

Chad, It will be cool to see the differences between your Corydoras kit and the Karakorum version. I'll have to e-mail Carl about his Dolly's kit when I get a chance. What I meant by realism, was whether you will build the 1/72 variable kit without any modifications. Since you do not "play" with your models as you've told me, I was not sure if you planned to leave it in one mode, and then focus upon making that particular mode as true to the lineart as possible. Imai obviously had to make certain sacrifices to develop a model kit that would look halfway decent in all (3) modes, as opposed to Hasegawa who did not have to worry about hinges, part swapping and so forth. Gundamhead, You did a great job on your 1/72 Strike/Super kit. Do you have any pictures that you could post of the completed VF-1S with your armor installed? Later, Christopher
-
Well, it was kinda obvious that Karakorum was the right spelling, because the creator of the kit "Gundamhead" never corrected it's spelling, just check his post on the first page. So, it was confirmed well before he posted again on this page. Not only that, but as an owner of his kit, all I had to do was look on the box when I typed up this list.
-
Chad & Noel, All right, I'm confused now. Carl mentions a kit by "Dolly's," and Noel wonders if it is "CoryDora's." Chad mentions a kit listing I've never seen called "Korykoras." Are we all talking about the same thing here? The Karakorum kit was basically resin armor parts, a strike cannon and missiles for use with the Bandai/Imai 1/72 Variable Valkyrie kit. According to Carl, "Dolly's" released basically an identical kit. Does that mean, "CoryDora's/Korykoras" also released this kit, a copy of which Chad purchased from Noel? If so, that means (3) separate companies have released the same resin kit. I wonder who made the original then? Chad, does this mean you're going to build a 1/72 Imai/Bandai Variable Valkyrie and attach the resin armor/strike cannon to it? If so, will you keep it stock, or try to make everything more realistic in all (3) modes? Should be interesting to see it displayed next to a Hasegawa Strike. Sincerely, Christopher
-
tetsujin, I completely understand what you are saying, and I considered that before finishing the list. I included both the Imai and Bandai versions, for several reasons. The boxes, boxart, and inserts are different, and each version should therefore be considered a separate collectible. Without opening the box, you would never know that the two are related. In addition, the release of the same kits by two different manufactures is a singular occurence, so it is not so widespread as to merit special consideration. If we apply youre logic, why would a collector of 1/55 valkyries bother to purchase anything besides original Matsushiro Jetfires and Takatoku valkyries? The same goes for the Bandai reissues. They are all 1/55 valkyries, but each version is collectible due to significant variations between them, such as different boxes, decals, improvements and etc. Likewise, I have not included minor box variations by the same manufacturer if the contents of the box are identical to one other. The creation of a list like this requires some constraints, otherwise it won't be valued. Hopefully, I explained myself. Sincerely, Christopher
-
jipe, Thank you, and I appreciate your input. Kiotcloudkicker, When I thought about posting the list, I considered that it could increase competition for some of these kits by educating others about what is out there, but the greater good is served. I know what you mean, the only place I'll see most of the rare kits will be on the list, not in person. Chad, Yes, Excel is an excellent idea. Regarding the Wave 1/72 VF-22-S Battroid Valkyrie, I found it on HLJ, but no box is included: Wave 1/72 VF-22-S The MW Model section says that is "vinyl," but no picture is provided. Noel, I will add the D'Stance YF-21 to the list. Perhaps Carl has a link/picture. "1. 1:72 Karakorum Macross Robotech DYRL 1/72 Variable Valkyrie [a group Super or Heavy Weapon Type Resin Conversion Kit in the For use with Imai or Bandai 1/72 Variable U.S.A. ] Valkyrie model kits 2. 1:72 Dolly's- Virtually the same kit as above independently Doll(s) created by a group in Japan" With regard to "CoryDora's" versus "Dolly's", I obtained the information as stated above in blue font from "Carl's Corner." Perhaps there is another kit, do you have anymore information? Sincerely, Christopher

List updated/edited. Does anyone have a link, picture, or the manufacturer's name for these items. If you own them, you should be able to look on the packaging: 1/72 Ghost X-9 1/72 Ghost X-9 with FAST Packs 1/72 YF-19 Battroid Valkyrie (Chad) 1/72 Destroid Phalanx 1/72 Destroid Tomahawk 1/72 Destroid Monster Switchblade 1/72 YF-19 Variable Valkyrie (link/picture) 1/72 YF-21 Gerwalk Conversion Kit (Chad) 1/72 VF-19F Conversion Wings (Chad) 1/72 YF -19 Fold Booster (UN.Balance ?) 1/72 Head lasers, micro missile launcher, etc. 1/72 DYRL Launch Arm Hobby Base/Retpuu 1/72 VF-11B "Thunderbolt" Fighter Valkyrie (link/picture) Hobby Base/Retpuu 1/72 VF-11B "Thunderbolt" Battroid Valkyrie (link/picture) Hobby Base/Retpuu 1/72 VF-11C "Thunderbolt" Battroid Valkyrie (link/picture) What about the D-Stance YF-21 Carl is looking for? I think it is 1/72 scale. Thanks, Christopher
-
jipe, Well, that depends on what your goal is. If your goal is to collect or compare certain similar items in the same scale, then you would want to group those items together. However, you would run into a problem, because a lot of items do not relate to anything else. My intention was to list every 1/72 Macross kit ever made, so my goal was not to create a list of similar items grouped together. Based upon that, grouping by manufacturer is the most logical method to use. Actually, all you have to do is copy and paste the list into Microsoft Word or something similar, and then just use the "find next" option to locate "VF-4" or whatever you want. So my goal is to obtain everything on the list, hence a complete list sorted by manufacturer, as opposed to obtaining every VF-4G created in 1/72 scale. Sincerely, Christopher
-
Jesse/Ken/Chad, I knew I could count on the resident MW experts to help complete the list. Thank you, and if you think of anything else please let me know. I considered including the different box variants, but the list is already long enough as it is. Unless the kit was released by a different manufacturer (Bandai/Imai), or the contents of the box changed, then I didn't list it. Recasts are excluded as well. I always thought it would be cool to have a list that could be printed out, and then slowly worked on until every item has been checked off. Later, Christopher

Hello, Similar to the Hasegawa list I created, this is my attempt to provide a complete list of all of the 1/72 Macross model kits/accessories whether they be plastic, resin, metal, or decals. I do not want to include items that were not actually released and available to the general public. Really rare limited items are of course included. You'll notice that I did not just "copy and paste" this all together. It is an original list, sorted by manufacturer, alphabetically, with like items grouped, and consistent descriptions used. It took me quite a while to develop, and I referenced Hobby Link Japan, Macross World and some other sources. Complete List of Macross Hasegawa Releases
ChristopherB replied to ChristopherB's topic in Model kits
Hello Gundamhead, If you take a look at the post from "nemesis120" on this page of the thread he discusses the upgrade parts and included a partial picture. I had no idea that they even existed until he posted. Fortunately someone was able to bid via Yahoo Japan on my behalf. They are packed away so I can't take a better picture at this time, but basically you get a full sprue of parts plus some polycaps, and an instruction sheet. Christopher -
Hello, Doing a little research in anticipation of a future project. I believe that it was meant to celebrate/commemorate the completion of the 2,500 VF-1 valkyrie off the assembly line, and perhaps the final. I'm sure the Macross Compendium lists the total number of VF-1 valkyries built. I believe VF-1's are built by Stonewell/Bellcom, who is perhaps located in the United States, hence the patriotic red, white and blue color scheme, although the US does not have exclusive rights to that color scheme. The scheme includes a list of sponsor names that are on flow from the tail fins to the legs. The sponsor names appear to be the same as those used on the Minmay Guard Version shown in the link below: Minmay Guard Perhaps the sponsors are companies that have been sub-contracted to provide components used within a valkyrie, such as the engines, avionics and etc. The valkyrie has what looks to be one missile rack on each side, but it appears to be mounted to the underside of the chestplate as opposed to the wing root. That is a completely new place to mount missiles, and weird considering the valkyrie would be for promotional use only. Another new feature is the addition of some type of sensor on the nosecone just forward of the canopy. Does anyone have any idea what it could be in real world terms? Yet another strange feature is what appears to be a drop tank, in the spot where the gunpod would normally be, which further makes the addition of a missile pylon strange. Why would a valkyrie even need a drop tank since they use nuclear power, and all it would do is counteract aerodynamics? The "drop tank" does not appear to be a cylindrical shaped item, because the front has a greater circumference, with the rear being smaller. The front 1/2 is definitely more bulbous in shape. Finally, the paint scheme includes what appear to be re-creations of randomly placed signatures on the nosecone and forward chestplate. The size of the signatures is too large for people to have actually written them directly onto the valkyrie, so they must be reproductions. I am not sure there is any way to find out exactly what the black writing is, but since it is a commemorative valkyrie, the writing is most like the names/signatures of the company that makes the valkyries. Such as the companies president, main designer, or some of the employees that helped build it, sponsors, etc. It's probably similar to what was done with the Spirit of Saint Louis. Hasegawa includes most of the decals needed, as well as a side profile drawing, and an actual photograph of the actual model with the clear red/blue/green VF-1 model kits. Hasegawa does not include the black signature decals, so those will have to be created. Since no one knows what they actually are, perhaps I could just use the names of popular Macross characters. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. The only other person that I know of who created a "2500th" VF-1J was a MW member named DOM, and that was along time ago. He used a 1/60 Yamato, not a Hasegawa, and he sold it on eBay for a good price. Any pictures or links? Sincerely, Christopher

Complete List of Macross Hasegawa Releases
ChristopherB replied to ChristopherB's topic in Model kits
Updated the list to include the latest releases. -
Yes, with certain exceptions, variable valkyries make better toys, and beyond the scope of feasible creations that Rob is considering at this time. A GBP-1 kit from Hasegawa is still possible, I will concede that, but not likely, because they have completely bypassed DYRL and TV Series kits to release Macross Zero. If they were going to do it, I would think we would have heard or seen something by now. As such it should not be written off, because of a slim possibility, which may never come to fruition. If you're worried about a Hasegawa GBP-1, the Thunder Hammers is definitely viable and a better creation in my humble opinion.
-
Would it possible to substitute the "Thunder Hammers/Hummers" armor in place of the GBP-1? Presuming that the GBP-1 is selected of course. I agree that it's better to go for something that we will likely never see in 1/72 scale, as opposed to something that is already available via a recast or plastic kit. That being said, a 1/72 GBP-1 has already been produced, but it wasn't that great, so: 1.) 1/72 "Thunder Hammer/Hummer" Armor 2.) VF-9 Cutlass w/ gerwalk parts (legs down only) 3.) VF-17 with fastpacks and gerwalk parts (legs down only) 4.) VA-3 Invader w/ gerwalk parts (legs down only) 5.) VF-5000B Star Mirage with Fastpacks and gerwalk parts (legs down only) I know that Bandai released the VF-17, and SHE released the VA-3 and VF-5000B, but none of them were in 1/72 scale or excelled in one mode. Sincerely, Christopher

Question about Political Content
ChristopherB replied to the white drew carey's topic in MW Site News & Member Feedback
Allright, it's group hug time while we jam out to Hall and Oates, and curse Agent ONE for being in the "sypware" business, whatever in the hell that is. Must have something to do with the sippie cups toddlers use. Damn Blaine23 you get an apology and I didn't even get a chance to call you by a cussword with an asterik in the middle. Seriously though, best wishes. Just as long as their not "eyeing my private." -

Agent ONE, Now that you mention it, you're right, I didn't notice it installing, which confirms you did a good job! Christopher -
Dobber, I was glad when I saw you start to post again. Yes, I love what you did with your SV-51, and I've wanted to have one just like yours ever since. Do you plan to post any updated pictures in your previous thread? Sincerely, Christopher
