Stop playing on legendary. Bungie made it so that the classic legendary co-op "spawn bitch" tactic wouldn't work in the sequel.

The rear wheels will actually lock into position; pull them all the way out until you hear an audible click (you're not breaking it, really).
-
If you have everything locked into place, then you can gently press down on the nosecone and it will both straighten out and give you some ground clearance. The reason it looks like that is partly inherent to the Alpha/Legioss' design: you'll notice that the nosecone isn't exactly flush with the rest of the hull. Edit: Need to add pic

Powerpuff Girls go anime!
Ed.Coli replied to terry the lone wolf's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I heard about the animation changes in D's Lab, but never saw them (I stopped watching TV about two years ago). Man, I still remember my favorite PPG episode though. It was the one where practically every line was a Beatles reference. Man, that was awesome. I really don't think a lot of the jokes or themes from PPG will translate that well to Japanese. (This irks me, though. PPG has always been an anime. "Anime" isn't that special of a word; it means the same thing in Japanese as it does in French.) -
Though, it's usually bad luck to name something that has to do with robotics HAL...

The Doc Ock one is really well done. I liked the use of the different Ock heads to represent emotion in that one.

It's a MAJOR security fix for Windows XP; stops pop-ups, fixes the ol' auto-download spyware stuff, and comes with a shiny new firewall.

The "evil" egg tank can be found in the race animation on the iloveegg website.

If you want to get an Alpha, go for the second (Rook) or third (Lancer) ones and avoid the first issue ones unless you really really really like the colorscheme/character, as they have been reported to be QC nightmares. Or, wait for the Shadow fighter. The MPC alphas are really a leap above the quality of the horrible MPC veritechs.

Forget the lifesize scopedog...
Ed.Coli replied to Montarvillois's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I like mechs as much as the next person, but using them in combat is completely ridiculous. You referenced Destroids and the AT-ST, but what did they ever do that actually worked in a practical military sense? The AT-STs were destroyed by logs and tripwires, and Destroids were a joke, relegated to the status of manned turrets defending the Macross. The only destroid that was almost worth it was the Monster, and the legs were pretty much useless on that one (could have done better with treads). Fact is, bipedal robots would be good for, maybe, construction or excavation, where terrain could prove a disadvantage for wheeled vehicles. But a bipedal weapon of that sort remains impractical for military uses. Even if, theoretically, you could make it faster and increase its rate-of-turn, it would still offer no battlefield advantage to offset its cost and fragility. The high profile of a bipedal weapon is a huge shot in the foot, both figuratively and literally; one shot, and it would either explode or trip, making it worthless. The only way a bipedal machine would come close to being useful as a weapon is if it were an "Exo" type powered suit, a la the APU in Matrix Revolutions. -

Very very interesting, though the practical applications escape me so far. -
It's here...Shadow Chronicles screenshot!
Ed.Coli replied to terry the lone wolf's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The search function is your friend. There's only, like, five threads on this. The designs are alright, I guess, but like everyone else, I'll have to wait to hear the voices. I do have one beef though; what's the deal with every new animated military organization having skintight uniforms? It just looks... unnatural. Actually, now that I think of it, that screen oddly reminds me of Get Ride! Amdriver. -

Supposedly today, though I haven't checked for delays lately.

Well, I finally got around to panel-lining and stickering up my green alpha, so here you go: Soldier mode http://www.pole-land.com/images/mpcalpha/as1.jpg http://www.pole-land.com/images/mpcalpha/as2.jpg http://www.pole-land.com/images/mpcalpha/as3.jpg http://www.pole-land.com/images/mpcalpha/as4.jpg Diver mode http://www.pole-land.com/images/mpcalpha/as5.jpg http://www.pole-land.com/images/mpcalpha/as6.jpg http://www.pole-land.com/images/mpcalpha/as7.jpg Hangin out with the Yamato 1/60 Hikaru; good size comparison http://www.pole-land.com/images/mpcalpha/as8.jpg http://www.pole-land.com/images/mpcalpha/as9.jpg Fighter mode http://www.pole-land.com/images/mpcalpha/as10.jpg http://www.pole-land.com/images/mpcalpha/as11.jpg The "arched back problem" isn't really as serious as it looks in other pictures, as long as you transform it correctly http://www.pole-land.com/images/mpcalpha/as12.jpg http://www.pole-land.com/images/mpcalpha/as13.jpg Yes, I still play with my toys. http://www.pole-land.com/images/mpcalpha/as14.jpg As you can see, adding the stickers improves the visual quality DRASTICALLY.

Too many freaking protect and defend missions. God I hate those things. Never finished the game, so I didn't get to see the ending, but I liked the missle trail effect used in the game. I agree that Battroid sniping is completely useless. Whafart kind of parent would name their daughter Izzy?

They dropped the English version of the site a while ago, back when UC.net went into their beta phase. It wasn't really much of a surprise, as they never had any solid plans for a US release anyhow. It's kind of a shame, really; it looked incredibly promising.

Well, I think it was designed the way it was to prevent the head from hanging too low in fighter mode, hence the shorter "compromise." Nice mod, though, need to see how that turns out.

Macross Mecha Depicted in non-Macross Series

Well, one of the problems with "mind-control" is that even if you could translate brainwaves to control patterns (proven by the chimp experiment), it still only translates to random movement. Think of it this way; human brains are wired to control just the right amount of extremities, at birth; two arms, two legs, etc. Adding a third arm, or an entire airplane to that perfect system will only screw things up, since we aren't born with control instincts for them. How do we get past this? For example, if someone wanted to create, say, Doctor Octopus, he'd first have to find an undeveloped fetus, and start implanting the artificial synapses and arms. As the brain develops, there is a SLIGHT chance that it will accept the artificial synapses. After that, all the doctor would need to do is to keep changing out the arms as the baby grows. Wiring an entire airplane into an undeveloped fetus would probably kill it, though.

Looks more like cel-shaded 3d models, though I have to agree, it does look really nice. IMO the background could use a bit more detail.
