yup, you've all seen it...I jacked up my fan racer like you wouldn't believe. In addition to taking it apart, I've even gone so far as to knock it off a table and break a fin off. So needless to say, I need a replacement. Authentic or not, I don't really care. I hate Tanmen anyway. Someone help!

they look pretty cool. But I was hesitant to get one cuz I heard the helmets are designed for the japanese market; thus they are smaller in size even though they are 1/1 scale. Can XSToys confirm? I got a big head to fit my massive brain, and I wanted to be able to put it on. Would have been even better if it had been DOT approved. Then I could have worn it while riding my bike.

HOLY COW!!!! A comment made by Graham about the 1/55s that I can actually back up almost completely. I totally agree that they should have done more to the reissues instead of just making it a complete reissue. They could have improved upon the design without making it into a 1/48 clone. It could still retain its playability with some added features here and there. A pilot? YES I LOVE PILOTS! They aren't Transformers. They don't fly themselves. Attaching the gunpod to the fighter? That would only add to the playability! I attached the gunpod to my fighter, but I had to hold the legs together to keep the gunpod from falling out as a kid. the FLIR sensors? that's sorta lost on me. Not even really sure what he's talking about. But while I like the reissue (especially the paint jobs), I think they could definitely have done more to make it a better toy. Give it some differentiation, so that it's not the same exact thing from 20 years ago. After 20 years of technological innovations, you would think they'd be able to give you something better right? I think that should be expected.

it's crap. Totally worthless. You won't be able to do anything with it now. So I'll just take it off your hands. What a nice guy I am! All I will say is, better than I can do. XSToys probably has a real one that's a variant made by Yamato.

Nope, and no landing gear either, I figured out where all the parts go though, It's pretty easy. that's ok though, you don't really need the landing gear do you? if you just put it on the stand. At least it came with a stand

aint nuthin wrong with jetfire. I love jetfire, stubby nose and all! I remember going to Sears cuz they had tons of transformers and I would just stare at the boxes of jetfires in awe. But then I didn't really care if it was transformers or robotech, I just loved the fighter and armor as a toy. The branding was lost on me. I guess that's why I bought the diaclones instead of the real transformers. I looked at the diaclones and thought, wow they come with a little man with magnet feet, they have guns that actually shoot bullets out far, and they cost less than the transformers. Nowadays, I'm a brand whore. What's happened to me?

oh, and the wings...they may look flimsy, but they are quite tough. I wouldn't worry about him breaking the wing off. I think I carried my valks around by the wings with no problems in the past. The tail fins are another matter though, but even more likely to break is the tail pack. And before any of those break, I think the ears would fall off. But other than that, it's still the tried and true chunky monkey.

The canon thing shooting those bullets, those I don't care for. But I do like the fact that you can launch those planes. It looks like I may like the Taka version for the same reason I choose the CM over the Yammies. I don't mind the pegs that stick out a little. I think the ability to launch them little planes adds to the playability of the SDF1 as a toy. The toy can't do much else besides transform. Maybe you just want to have the SDF1 so you can have it sit on a shelf or something. If only I had a nickel for everytime I've taken out my taka and launched them lil planes... I show my friends that it launches the planes cuz I think it's so cool that it does. So maybe I'm in the minority. I'm surprised I'm the only one who likes the Taka version for its playability. I guess everyone else here who has the Taka likes it for nostalgic reasons...well except for XSToys. He just buys everything cuz he can. Wait...did I already play the XSToys card already on this thread?

The launchers sold me on the Takatoku 1/3000 over the Bandai/Matchbox version. I've got both, but I much prefer the Takatoku one because they can launch planes. The ability to launch planes off the Prometheus...how can that make it worse? That being said, do I think the ability to launch planes off the prometheus is worth 400 bucks? Probably not to the masses...but I'm quite sure it's worth it to XSToys...hell he's probably got versions with variants with planes that have macross symbols engraved into the wings.

well...now that we've gotten all our stuff from Tanmen, we should recast all of them and sell them to make money so we can give a lil back to those who made this all possible: the monkey man and jesse...and monkey's wife. Besides...I broke my racer...I need a recast replacement! BTW, when I say recast, I mean we should make the recasts, sell them at the same price it cost us to purchase. Make only a limited number...just enough so that we can cover the costs of having the recasts made, and give some goodies to the monkey and the myers boy.

Technically yes, but I don't really see a problem with it being here since it is referring to a toy which this section is designated for. And since it's a topic that most who are in here are also interested in, I wouldn't raise too much hell. Now that thread about Macross fanbase shrinking...that doesn't sound much like a thread about any specific toys, but more about Macross in general. Maybe that one needs to move. Heck let's rearrange the whole Macross World Forums for the fun of it! YIPPEE!!!!Fun all around!

Why not? We got our stuff from Tanmen now. How he figures that the shipping shouldn't be included is beyond me. That whole mentality in Japan about being insulted is a load of crap. Should we not have been insulted that he failed to deliver his goods by promised date after promised date? Personally, I have no problem with people taking his stuff and recasting it.

You also need a sacrificial 1/55 reissue...and there's no need to use a 1/55, reissue or not, as a guinea pig. It's not a Yammy 1/60 or even a 1/48 we're talking about here... j/k!
