1. Yup, down for me too.
2. I feel the sameway, however, I do like Patlabors Ingram design, IMO practical.
3. Oh man oh man, lets hope our boys come home safely with no defects.
4. Same here. Hoping for the best.
5. Uh, what? Damn, I've got to look into this! I adore the Patlabor films one and two. 394085 Ditto! I really hope there are some worthy extras and those lame arse Manga previews do NOT count at all! Hopefully they also fixed the glitching and freezing found in the first film. I can give specifics if anyone needs it, but suffice to say, those errors really should not exist.
6. Great pics! Damn that box size, crap you'd think Yamato would learn by now people really hate the size of that fragging oversized box! Still this is just the thing I need to brighten the dreary day at work.
7. I was there for the performance too, but I didn't know who was who. We really need MW shirts or caps so we can id our fellow breathen. I wasn't able to get all the songs either, just two and a half, but I know Anthony (sp) was filming, he was the Asian dude wearing white tshirt and blue jeans to the right of the stage, with a tripod recording the entire time. Anyone know him? Not sure if he was associated with Project 760, Cherry Blossom Festival, or with JVideo and Tak.
8. Oh yes, I was totally floored when Mari discussed how people often say as you get older you outgrow your dreams and her comment to the audience was, "I don't believe that sh*t!" Priceless.
9. Woot! That is insane! I wonder how long it took him, anyone know? What a labor of love.
10. Congrats xstoys. The cake looked great and everyone in the pic looks happy. Again congrats and best wishes to the new couple! Cheers!
11. That Zero model looks pretty promising. But I'm going to be happy with just the 1/60... once it arrives that is.
12. Looks good... reminds me of the Golden Lagoon episode from G1. No offense, I like the look, but agree with others comments about the feet and adding the black portion to the nosecone.
13. Didn't rain during SU. As for a meet, didn't know about one... However, Mari's performance was excellent, IMO fans couldn't have asked for more. Though surprisingly not too many people knew who she was, especially when the MC made feeble attempts to excite and elicit Macross fan participation. He even commented at one point, "I am surprised there aren't more of you here". Interesting to note, Mari wasn't listed in the glossy Cherry Blossom booklet, the table of events with just her name hardly counts. She discovered this for herself, much to her disappointment, when she was looking for her pic/bio in the booklet to sign for a fan and could not locate it. She did however have a large bio and pic spread in the b&w newspaper, but not the booklet. Anyone record her entire performance? I know Tak of JVideo had someone and so did Project 760. Anyone else?
14. Actually RocketPunch I was referring to a male anime character. Most like Lt. Manning from ORGUSS 02 OVAs, certainly not Bolton. Also I completely agree with DeathHammer's comments, "I think anime and the way the characters are drawn and handled mirror the same basic facts of mainstream live action TV and movies. If you are good looking, life is usually easier. Easier to get a job, easier to get promoted , easier to find an attractive spouse in a higher socioeconomic bracket, etc etc." This is so true it hurts. 1/1 LowViz Lurker most anime viewers do not care whether or not the characters lack realism, you do great, but most don't. This is one very important reason why an OVA, movie, or series is animated as opposed to live action. Anime characters are eye candy, plain and simple; if they weren't we'd be reading about the stories instead of viewing it as a visual medium. Highly attractive anime characters sell better and receive greater acceptance among both young men and women. Average as in George Costanza is boring as hell in anime. Do you really think a character that is average is marketable and appeals better to teens (who typically are the second largest target audience behind kids), compared to an attractive or even a highly talented character? I certainly do not. Attractive anime characters do reflect reality and what people want. Sure, anime doesn't tell us the samethings that a mainstream advertisement like a CK ad tells us about sexuality, but it certainly confirms that people do not want to see unattractive, boring, losers, deadbeats, and weak willed characters. Yes, some characters possessing those traits do appear in anime, but those tend to not be the popular ones. Lastly, as for how the audience relates to anime characters, usually it is the character development and/or lack thereof that viewers relate to. Who the hell can relate solely based on looks, with the characters in Macross, Bubblegum Crisis, YuGiOh, [fill in the blank with another popular series]? WTF? The audience relates if at all, based on the characters development.
15. 392659 Maybe, but if you've ever been in an abusive relationship, you probably won't think that way for too long. Emotional abuse, yes I said it, she emotionally abused Godai so badly it is so not funny. As someone once said, "men go through hell for the woman they love, sadly the woman just does not realize it". Also bear in mind, her jealously hurts those closest to her. She lashes out with the intent to harm; her words alone can inflict more damage than a knife to a young suitors heart. I for one lost count, how many times she left Godai in a drunken stupor trying to numb the heartache she caused. And lets not forget what happens when she feels she has been wronged, oh boy. Often times, as we all know, it is all due to a misunderstanding on her part, and her redefining of the word stubbornness is beyond legendary. Besides these flaws, Kyoko is a gem. But seriously, if she were alive, she'd need anger management classes.
16. No toys they can all burn., I am damn serious. Maybe a cel folder b/c all of them are one a kind and in many ways historical in an anime sense, but then even, probably not, even my most valuable items are merely things.... I'd much rather take specific photo albums (already packed ready to go) and the packed emergency backpacks just waiting to be used.
17. I think Kyoko is incredible, minus her flaws she too would be a top contender for #1.
18. My list: 1) Mahoro from Mahoromatic She is a superwoman! Mahoro is supportive, protective, adorable, emotionally and physically strong/stable, and boy can she cook (you'll never starve with her). She also possesses the "perfect heart", practically a goddess. But unlike Belldandy, she isn't a goddess, so there's no need to fear getting killed in your sleep by the lord, or jealous nutcase sisters. She is also selfless, proven by the sacrifices she made repeatedly in the series. IMO you guys misunderstand the entire ecchi thing with Mahoro, she is like that b/c she feels strongly about women not being objectified for their body parts or lack thereof (in her case her insecurity is obvious, yet adorable). However, all her nagging, lecturing aside, she is very romantic, playful and possesses a wicked sense of humor. IMO she will no doubt engage in plenty of ecchi if you were the love of her life. Just keep that in mind. 2) Sara from Macross Zero Why Sara? Well IMO she is the closest to a low maintenance woman you will ever find on the planet Earth. She is supportive, selfless, beautiful, respectful of nature/traditions, remains fiercely loyal and protective of those she loves, and above all, is not a materialistic whore like so many modern women. Also, she much like all Mahoro and Noriko is atoning for something she experienced/contributed to in her past and needs someone to be her emotional archor. You could be that man if she could believe you truly love and trust her; the same applies to many of the women her, but IMO she would put up the second least resistence. Moreover, I believe Sara also shares a strong desire for peace and she made the ultimate sacrifice something both Mahoro and Noriko did as well, to create peace and that is why she is higher on my list than the remaining women. Although, Sara might not be as worldly or domesticated as anyone else on this list, Sara is for all intensive purposes a survivor who isn't feminine or masculine to the point where it hinders her ability to grow. IMO she's tough only b/c she was forced to assume so much responsibility, she is like Noriko is many ways. Also, Sara lives in a "paradise" hell I want to be there now! I also completely agree with her beliefs on how modern civilizations destroys peace, technology causing problems and the entire issue about conveniences. The only thing I'd want from civilization is medical training, everything else can stay the hell off my island. I could totally live with less materialistic comforts and in harmony with nature on an island paradise with Sara. 3) Misa from Macross Misa much like Mahoro, Noriko and Sara, is caring, supportive, lovely, brilliant and strong, but unlike Mahoro she guards her deep insecurities. Misa like Noriko and Sara is strongly bound by her past, but unlike Mahoro is slower to move past it to the future w/Hikaru. Over all, Misa is very driven, she reminds me of Kanuka Clancy from Patlabor, possessing a tough exterior but also posseses soft/passionate heart. The key for a woman like Misa is too win her trust and IMO she'd be unwavering in her loyalty, passions, and love. 4) Noriko from GunBuster While I think Noriko is undeniably awesome, adorable, talented, IMO she also represents innocence lost b/c she was forced to grow up too fast and due to it, she is perhaps the most insecure of all the women listed. Noriko possesses the most emotional baggage/damage due to significant losses she experienced. However, out of all the women I list, IMO given a supportive significant other, she has the best chance to grow beyond them and probably end up at the top of my list. Much like Mahoro, she too is selfless and is completely devoted to others. In this sense, IMO she expresses her great love for humanity. Another plus, she is also an anime and sci-fi otaku. To win Noriko's heart IMO wouldn't take much as any of the other women, IMO she is to a fault an easy going person who deeply values her friends, remained a hopeless romantic, and possesses a youthful innocence that others did not appreciate or understand. Out of all the characters IMO Noriko was the loneliest and for myself I'd totally want to be there for her, she really is the girl next door. 5) Kyoko from Maison Ikkoku & Madoka from Kimagure Orange Road Why a tie and why last? Simply put both are nearly equal in their beauty, physical prowess and other talents like cooking. However, both share two fatal flaws, failing to being honest with their feelings, especially with the person whom they love and redefining mule-like stubbornness. Also, both cause others to suffer due to their insane temper and jealousy rages, which can result in abuse and a broken heart. Asides from those major flaws, both are incredibly supportive, lovely, patient, well rounded and simple girls at heart. If they could learn to trust you unconditionally, you'd win their hearts and hand. They are also last b/c they are not selfless and do not make any major contributions to the world and society around them. This is not to say in the least, I wouldn't want either or them in my life. Alrightie, then it is decided, I am moving to Maya and Mahoro can move in too.
19. Not looking too good just like E_D, other plans are demanding my participation and attention.
20. I thought you were boycotting AX? So does it really matter? 391844 Pat, it does matter to me b/c as I've previously stated (if you read carefully), I am boycotting AX, however, depending on the guests I may attend. I do not go to AX for the annoying noob fans and pisspoor crowd control, just the guests and specific dealers. 392058 ok, so that means you'll be stopping by the AP booth, right? And buying stuff from us too right? 392098 Sure if I attend I will definitely swing by to say hi to you, SR and Mindy. All depends on the guests... they alone sell me on attending.
21. Sounds like some people will have pics very shortly, looking forward to them.

23. We're already in April and they do not even have a bloody guestlist, how utterly LAME!
24. Love the 90s series! Wish I could find good cels, but ever since the WB stores closed down it's been a real pain. As for MOP movie, strong resemblence w/Year 2 Full Circle. Nice!
25. Well that would be: #1 Sithlord #2 Kensei #3 ? Wouldn't #1 be Godzilla or Kensei?
