Thank you to everyone for the pictures. Mine should arrive in a week or two. Can't wait! It looks like my 1/60 collection may be downsized yet again.

I like the minis because I can amass a sizable collection that doesn't take up a lot of space and doesn't break the bank. An LE costs well over $300. I imagine a CE will be around $150. An FX costs over $100. A mini is a mere $35 which is a great price considering how solid and how well made a mini is. It's funny, but I kind of think a full size saber looks a bit silly in person. The large shiny tube with all the little do dads looks great on screen but comes off as a bit odd in person. The minis, on the other hand, capture the coolness factor of what is on screen w/o striking me as looking odd when seen in person. Maybe I'm just not a fan of full size prop replicas since I prefer to gaze on a collection of replicas instead of feeling the items in my hand.

It was a convention exclusive. I bought one off Ebay so I'm not sure what convention it was. I paid $40 when I bought it back in April. Looks like the supply has dried up and forced the prices up.

The Obi-Wan AFBB is basically a non-weathered version of the E4 saber. The official E3 version changed the proportions a little and added some gold. Link to my mini saber collection

Pics! Is it action fleet scale? If it is, I might buy it just because I want an AF scale Jedi Starfighter. The transforming thing is just kind of a bonus. 355440 I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow. This looks to be the same size as the AF stuff but the scale is probably wrong since the Jedi Starfighter is a pretty small craft. Going from memory, the Vader TIE looks to be the same size as the AF stuff.

The ANH Vader mini is my favorite. I really like that many of the OT sabers were built out of real components. Things like the coil in the emitter of Vader's saber make the replica more interesting. I can't wait for the Luke ANH mini. I'm also really looking forward to the blaster minis.

Posting this here since this is a Transformers branded product. Found this at Target today along w/ mini-Unleashed, Titanium (large and small), SW Motorcycles, Superhero Showdown, new Teen Titans and Batman EXP stuff. Executive Summary: A fun little toy that is worth the $15. Review: Although this series seems a little silly the Jedi Starfighter always looked appealing. Turns out it is quite nice. The only robot parts visible in star fighter mode are the hip joints. The arms, legs and head are entirely hidden. Too bad the same can't be said for many recent Transformers. The Starfighter mode even has two nicely detailed landing gears which is a rarity on modern Transformers. The pilot compartment is nicely detailed too. The winglets open manually and the lightsabers double as projectiles. There is no floppiness what so ever in this mode. The transformation is medium. Not too simple and not overly complex. The wings fold back, the arms fold out of the sides, the legs rotate down and extend, the front of the canopy folds inside and the back of the fighter flips back to reveal the head. One really neat feature is that the seat rotates back so that the pilot faces forward in robot mode, just like in Macross/Robotech! The robot mode is nice but not as nice as the fighter. The arms a little stubby, the are claws and the robot is very back heavy. Everything pegs securely. Plastic and paint quality are excellent. The figure is tiny (out of scale w/ the ship) and lacks detail. Even so, it is fun to have a little pilot figure - especially given the rotating seat gimmick. Overall it is a fun toy that I'm happy to have. I also picked up the Vader but I'm not sure if I'll keep since there is more kibble and I've heard that the robot head stores in the pilot compartment.

What are the differences between the OT Vader sabers? I believe that the differences on Luke's (Daddy hand me down) saber are the number of grips and number of rivets on the loop holder. I've always wondered about people who buy toys and collectibles as an investment. Stocks are an investment. Property is an investment. Toys and collectibles are a source of fun. If they go up in value that is just an added bonus.

Maybe the Qui-gon mini is being put off until next year since there is already a number of minis in 2006. I'll probably pass on one of the Lukes and the Vader since I'm not all that interested in variations from movie to movie. The weathered Obi-wan is a bit frustrating since I spent a fortune on one this year!

I'm now caught up on the series. I've enjoyed it thus far. I was really put off by the first episode I watched (the Pegasus episode) since the interpersonal tension was just too far over the top and a bit corny. Turns out that the silly level of tension in that episode isn't indicative of the series. In fact, the personal conflicts in the series, which are obviously a central part of the show, tend to resolve a little too quickly. Adama deposes Laura for no real reason. This is a move that should have done some irrevocable damage to their relationship but everybody seemed fine after they came back from the Tomb on Kobol. The pilots hated Helo when he arrived, and understandably so, but he is accepted once he suggests using carbon composites for the Blackbird. He's sleeping with the enemy but he made a good suggestion so let's forgive him. A couple of comments to recent posts... I think that the goal of the Cylon attack in the second to last episode was to capture the Galactica so that Sharon and her child would safely be in Cylon hands. I think this is what the Cylon guy meant at the end of the previous episode when he said that the baby must be protected at all cots. Leaving Sharon in human hands is a huge risk to the baby. Sharon putting the fiber optic cable up her arm is a bit silly but it did serve to reinforce that she isn't human. How did she accomplish this? Maybe the human Cylons have some specialized cells distributed throughout the blood stream that are adaptive enough to accomplish something like this. The cells will be undetectable if in a very low concentration in the body. It took Sharon a while to get going which could indicate that it took a little bit of time for the cells to gather in her wrist. I believe that the Pegasus has been aware of the Galactica and her civilian fleet from the beginning. Cain seems hellbent on fighting the Cylons and this attitude has tricked down to the crew. Cain even mentions that they are at war. In the pilot, Laura quite correctly states that the war is over and that humanity has lost. Survival, not war, should be the priority for humanity. If the Pegasus crew were the only surviving humans then humanity would be doomed. Attrition from each engagement would eventually decimate the crew. Anyway, I believe Cain chose to reveal the Pegasus in order to get Galatica's help for a major offensive. Cain is also using the Galactica crew to fill out the Pegasus crew. It's not a coincidence that she transferred Galatica's top two pilots to the Pegasus. Not everyone in the Pegasus crew shares Cain's vision. The deck chief seems down to earth and seems to be hanging around the Galactica. The XO alerted Tigh to the execution. It'll be interesting to see what happens to the Pegasus.

Yesh, it looks like lil' Optimus is trying to pull his Daddy's trailer. The lineart looks nice but unfortunately the prototype looks like two unmatched pieces.
-
Release it already! I paid for my preorder months ago and my 1J is getting really cold w/o his big puffy winter armor.
-
I really like the outfit (helmet included) but the figure itself reminds me of a cosplayer. It is almost as if the figure is trying to 'be' Roy as opposed to actual 'being' Roy.
-
Really? This used to be the only place I ever saw the more popular reissues (Prime, Seekers, Hot Rod, etc). I think the fact that this store's prices are higher than the rest of the chain may have had something to so with it.

Starring...Kristen Kreuk as Mary Jane Parker! 343671 Jessica Biel would have been a better choice for MJ. The guy in that Picture looks nothing like Morpheus, the King of Dreams or his son Daniel, who took his place. I hope the casting for Death, Despair, Delirium, Destruction, Desire and Destiny is WAY better than this. 343681 What the heck are you talking about? Sandman is a guy in a trenchcoat waering a gas mask.

Alternative Anti-Virus programs

I've been using Avast for quite sometime now. It automatically updates, is not obtrusive and is free. -
Master Replicas showed some new products at the Fall Toy Fair including the Obi-Wan and Maul FX sabers. The mini-blasters are something I've wanted for quite a while. RebelScum has pictures and information.

Alternator jets are just a rumor from hopeful fans. I think that Hasbro has mentioned looking at higher price points in the past but has never confirmed if this is larger cars/trucks or if it would be jets/helis. The line that comes after Cybertron and before the movie is supposed to have a Starscream that looks like a real jet. A picture was shown at Botcon(?) but I've not seen the picture turn up on the net.
-
I've seen Swerve on 3 different occasions at TRU and I only look at the Alternators when I think about it. Not sure how many there are per case. I only saw 1 twice and 2 the other time.
-
I'm in the minority but I like the Alt. Prime. It probably has a lot to do with the fact that I had a red Dakota and this is the closest an Alternator will ever come to a vehicle I owned. I'd prefer if Prime had a chrome grill & bumper along with standard suspension. Mirage looks great. The bot mode is quite a bit different than any of the other Alternators. I think the fenders work great as shoulders. The TRU GF Starscream is disappointing. Looks like I need to import if I want one. Primus will be very tempting. A planet Transformer that is an actual sphere appeals to me. It doesn't hurt that a fan of blue/gray color combos. Afte looking at Remy's gallery I have to have Soundwave!
-
I wonder how profitable BT/Alternators is? I imagine that there are some hefty license fees involved. The design costs are probably more than the main stream Transformers lines due to the complexity.

It'll come. We drooled over pictures of the 1/48 and Q-Rau long before they finally came out. I don't think this will end up like the 1/100 VF-1S.
-
I wasn't too keen on the 1/100 VF-0S at first. Then I saw the anime, loved it, and decided I wanted the toy even with the flaws. Then it disappeared off the radar and I cried - no not really - OK, yes I did. Now there is an even better VF-0S on the horizon. Wohoo!!

I can't comment on Convoy since I only have the Starscream. The quality is nice. The plastic is durable and the paint application is clean. The part fit is good. The articulation is better than G1 but isn't anything special compared to some of the other modern TF lines. The thing that suprised me about this line is that the figures are really small. I don't have SS in front of me so I can't do an accurate measurement, but I think it is 5" tall or so. The RM Convoy looks to have a simplified transformation and the inner arms (and perhaps the thighs) are hollow. 313924 Small ?! they look like they are 7"tall. Thanks. 314051 SS is 4.75" to the top of the intakes.
