First of all that's my room, and the cityscape you see behind my TV is an unfinished painting I did back in high school. -
DYRL BD Remaster - the Good.......and the BAD.
VF-18S Hornet replied to SCOOPUDA!'s topic in Movies and TV Series
just gotten my copy of DYRL+ Flashback 2012 combo pack a few days ago, but was too busy cleaning the rest of my room when I got it on Monday to watch it, yeah it took two days to clean my room. Finally got around to finish watching on Tuesday and like before with the horrible english dub I sang Do you Remember love. Yeah I know, I 'm the guy who dosen't understand a word of Japanese but can sing it and pronuciate it right with minor issues (thank you animelyrics.com) I must say they did a great job in cleaning it up making it cleaner and clearer to watch, plus it's widescreen so I can see things that weren't visible on my old VHS tape of Clash of the Bionoids (stupid name) suchs as Millia's shot taking out Kakizaki as he laughed his head off for the last time, or Max's broken wings and missile pods on the floor as he battled Millia on the airlock on her ship. They even added new and more SFX to Valks and enemy Mecha to make it more reallistic, somethimg that was never heard before in the original footage i.e: Roy's rescue attempt at Saturn. The thrust SFX of his engines are now different from the original. But there is one drawback the the Blu-ray disk release, is the sudden censorship of the gore that made the movie much enjoyable. Take the escape in Britai's ship as Millia 639 slaughters the Zentraedi. In the original footage you see her Q-Rau stomp down on her last victums head, pratically popping the eyes out and you see blood and gore. With the remasterd version it is almost blurred out as if it happened waaay too quick to see. And then in the final scenes where the Macross is taking hits from a lone ship that is ignoring Minmays singing. You'll noticed the guy that starts running to avoid falling debris but get decapitated instead. Yeah that's right they edited that part too. Just as he comes into view as everone else gets crushed from the debris the screen flashes white, and we're back to the attacking ship. I don't know if this is some sort of new law in Japan to edit out all sorts of gore and violence, that when into effect decades after this was released, but that was just wrong to do that on so many levels. All and all the was good, the game that came in the disc was too difficult to play. Seems the graphis and controls are based on those of Frontiers' controls. I could not get past level two. The second disc had Flashback 2012 on it as well as clips from the Macross Do you Remeber Love Video game, TV commercial spots and Commentaries and interveues with Shoji Kawamori and some other guy I don't know (wish I could read Japanese) Nice to hear what Kawamori sound like, and you could see the tiredness in his eyes, of a man who has done a lot of great works in his life. The combo pack not only comes with two discs, one for the feature length Movie and the other Flashback 2012. it also come with two packets of production art and a booklet that covers everything from photos of the production staff from both the TV series and Movie, conceptual Character and Mecha art, and past articles about Macross. This is definatly a must have. -

Well I got my VF-1A Mass Production type with the option parts didn't waste time putting some armor on this bird though it is the super pack I had used on my Vf-1S Max, didn't care cause I believe they are sold out of the packs anyway and plus they did not include any other sqaudron enblems for the fast packs. Of couse when I transform this into battroid mode the top and side coverers will be on and course the chair part will be shared with the VF-1J Hikaru once I get the armor back on. -

got bad news I was dusting my room and as I got to getting around to dusting my nightstand where my Armor Klan Klang and Alto was on, just as I got done with dusting off the night stand and my two figures. the piece that connects the two boosters to Klang were being uncooperative resulting with Klang falling on her ass no once, but twice. The result of the fall cracked the peg on the peice as I tried to pull it off to access the damage, it broke. Had that thing for years and never had a problem with it until now the day I decided to clean my room. And to make matters worse the broke peg won't come out it's pushed fruther in, may have to fing a really tiny screw to drill in and pull it out. Has any one had this problem with theirs. -
Mine too I got the Limited edition

I know I was late in telling you all this, since I got my copy three weeks ago, I have been busy with work. All I just gotta say is this; Max rocks as a Destroid pilot. The way he blocks Kamjins attack with the barrells of his Tomahawk and lets him have it with a barrage of missiles, so far only wounding the Glaug. and it funny he he leaps away waving at bye bye to Kamjin as a taunt. How'd he do that while every one else was having ahard time movie around in that gravity trap. I say if Kawamori wants to do a remake SDF macross for todays generation. The First would be an excellent model. BTW what's up with Kakizaki being carried back to the SDF-1 in the cockpit of Roy's fighter. I may not understand Japanese but the expression on Roy's face was priceless, especially when Claudia chimed in.

I had that problem with mine, but had success in getting it out with a minor problem, as the hand cap, as I call it popped off exposing the finger and thumb joint. I have yet to glue it back on with Super glue, as I ran out or I should really say dried up, at the time I got it.- 1048 replies

the more I see of everyone's pictures of this bird and compare it with the VF-17 from Macross 7. I have to say that the VF-171 is a slimmed downed version of the VF-17, like General Galaxy put the bird on a strict diet before rolling out more for the N.U.N.S and just slapped the name 171 to boot.

I mean your placement of the decals I though you had them placed on differently that's all, since you just answered my question, just one more. Where did you get it from, I could use something like that? Got a box to turn into a lightbox but need the black velvet. -
that's too cute I wish I had a kid so we could do that, though my thoughts of doing this involves a daughter named Millia.

especially when that toy happens to be expensive. I had no problem with 19S so far I just recently transformed it from gerwalk mode and into battroid mode after it spents some months on the stand in fighter mode.- 1048 replies

VF-18S Hornet replied to IXTL's topic in Toys
Well I am glad I checked this thread out, cause I just saw on someones post that the VF-1D w parts is available for Pre-order that I checked out HLJ to see if it's true, sadly their new look is confusing I must say I prefer the old and easy style style. But I did manage to pre-order both the VF-17D and VF-19F. TheF will be released in Aug and the 17D in Oct after my 46th birthday aaaack I mean 36th birthday.- 1048 replies
