  1. anyone have tried to dis-assemble Super/Armored parts for 25 or 29? The assembly sees does not use any glue but a layer of parts sandwiched together to hide the screws. There are screw covers as well that does not seem have any fair chance to be removed without destroying the area around it.
  2. This made me search a little bit. It seems like Japan is actually trying to stabilize the yen value to its current value now. The stronger yen before somehow affected their export business before. Anyway, most of us are no analyst so I will pay if there are any signs of increase
  3. it will be a long hiatus until post keeps flooding again. (the usual praise, curse, and other mwf stuffs we always hear)
  4. being a single digit, 5 to 7 copies is enough to for me to call it Ridiculous. But we are talking 2 copies?!?!
  5. let's just say arcadia yf-19 and bandai VF-19 Advance just appeal to different types of person. Vote with your money, too bad, bandai is making it hard for us
  6. screen grab from that trailer
  7. iI am voting towards that the next release from arcadia will not be from those two So rage rage rage!
  8. so I checked YJA for listing of VF-19 Advance (which shows how many Japanese scalpers are selling). To my surprise, there are 12 listing (out of 51 that my search has returned to) that actually has a bids on them, and the price is from 23.5k yen to 27k yen.
  9. i think they are referring to the model. But tbh, those models are pretty easy to get at discounted price.
  10. so the new tokyo ghoul while looks like faithful to the manga at the start, eventually departs from it by the end. imo, the end of the first Tokyo Ghoul manga is too painful to read so I am being a bit positive here that they are trying to create a new story for it.
  11. I dont know who has the numbers but I rarely see Metal Build or Metal composite gets sold out. Maybe it may be due to the 1/100 MG line up but even with the Metal Build Destiny (a unique, fresh and definitely better looking version) and Avalanche exia (no MG1/100), I saw at least days of opportunity to get one before it gets sold out. Anyway, I just wished it was always easier to get one.
  12. if I get your question correctly, the non DX is the model kit while the DX Chogokins is the toy line. so as a model kit, the non-dx needs to be assembled, painted, detailed and made of pure plastic (usually ABS plastic on the inner frame only). It has more details that can be brought out using modelling skills. DX chogokin are the toy. Meaning, you get a completed toy. No Assembly needed aside from adding accessories to the toy. It is detailed as well where it matters. In terms of materials used, it doesnt have a detailed inner frame like the model but it uses Die cast materials in joints and important areas. The plastics used here is pure ABS for the whole model.
  13. grabbed the heavily marked up from NY, i need to pay for it while yen is weak
  14. 11b and c are rare in Mandarake but they usually sell from 20k to 30k yen there.
  15. I guess similar to my 25S, I will camp mandarake on the release date.
  16. update before I call it a day. decals used is a photocopied yamato water slide decals. I was originally aiming for gray but black seems not so bad after all.
  17. I guess going the easy route is really problematic. And also, I need to use a better printer
  18. No pictures yet, but currently experimenting with DIY decals. I am experimenting using a photocopier (from the office) since I only want a black or gray VF-1J Stripes (I dont know how to do the imaging using PC). Gray looks really bad from test copies the dots are really visible.
  19. yes, it does not look impressive. Other than the one you mentioned, I am not looking at anything else. I will check some of it and hopefully something can turn out good. Too bad though, you need to spend 3 to 5 episodes to know if you like it or not
  20. if that what is it, then there are some "hobby" grade metalized sticker I saw before that can be stretched and applied to any model (provided you have the skill for it, that is like working with a tint and a glass) and if we are both right, then the picture shows using a special hobby item being applied (step1), pushed to the center to fit the shape (step 3) and then using the borders of that shape as a pattern to move your hobby knife to cut it? (step 3) i do a similar thing when I am doing masking canopy for example, but of course it is not as pretty and usually involve multple layer of tape since it cant be streched or again, we can be both wrong i checked One point technic in google and notice that GBF kits has a unique one point technic each that helps with customizing the kit. It would be great if it would be compiled and translated.
  21. if you are looking for a relatively cool Clear coat. I suggest try the following: (though I am not sure myself) Spraycan: this specific coat from MR hobby since these are acrylic based coat and they are using a thinner that is a lot cooler than most stuff I used. The other clearcoat product from MR is already lacquer based which is both harmful to almost anything if not used sparingly the specific product code is B501, B502 and B503 which represents gloss, satin/semi gloss and matte/flat coat. For airbrush and handbrush: There are a lot options. The most famous Gloss coat is Future or Pledge. These are sold as floor wax but they are not really wax. These are water-based acrylic coat that can be thinned with water (or alcohols) Any other clear acrylic products works as well.
  22. The whole series is short. It just pulls you in so that you can support the manga (or not by reading scanlations)
  23. sad, even local sellers are not sure if they can get one
