Erm, don't they need to conserve room for the engines, too? (well, not on the toy...) -

Huh, I never noticed in the show that the head turned. Went back and looked at the art, and sure enough, the 25F, G and RVF heads all rotate for transformation. Oddly enough, the 25S does not, as clearly seen in episode 1 and the artwork. I wonder why it would be different? -

Touched up the VF-171EX picture to show a nekkid CF version. I think this looks better than white too! Also, what's up with the grey patch on the leg? Where does that go? -
Yeah, the majority of the pool would be between the carrier arms; and you could build a ladder and diving board into the torso. Then the kids could pretend to be Marje Gueldoa!

About the Vajra: Each individual acts as a synapse, according to GG. From the diagrams, it looks like the ships act like sort of a node or ganglion. All of this adds up to Bilrer's graphic of them possessing one mind across the galactic core. I was thinking of how Ranka may fit into this, and why Leon sees it as such a danger. It is unknown, so far, how intelligent the Vajra are. The consciousness they share is not necessarily sentient. Perhaps this is what Leon fears: with Ranka added to their mind, the Vajra will be able to think, plan and go on the offense; rather than simply react and defend. -
Bah, those are the jailbait anyway (at least here in the US). Now, if the same artist can do a pic with just the older girls, Kathy & Grace, eep.

Cool, thanks, Graham! Although, I gotta say: While I lurve the VF-171EX w/ fast packs, the nekkid version in Alto's colors just doesn't do it for me. I like the black and red from M7, I like the fleet green on the cannon fodders, and I like the contrast of the white and grey, but it's just too plain in all white. I might photoshop this a little to see what Alto's teammates might look like in tan. -

Galactic-bluegrass might be interesting... Edit: Hell, you could even have a planet with actual BLUE GRASS! Ha, I kill me... -

Ranshe's face appears in the photo attached to the trio's Cosmo Nature article. It was noted before that she does bear some resemblance to Sheryl. Interesting theory, but it seems overly complex (then again, it's anime!) In theory #1, why would Grace use a macro/micro chamber to perform surgery? Are you imagining it would be easier operation on macro-organs? Have you ever seen a whale or elephant dissection? It's not pretty - chainsaws, hockey-stick sized flaying knives, etc. Then again, Grace may love to scrimshaw... -

Ha! I was just coming to this thread to pose the same question! If they're all slaves, like Brera now, I wonder if they'll show up fighting for Grace in the next 2 episodes. I bet they won't, unfortunately. -

I still wonder if each of the major colony fleets like Frontier are essentially their own country, but with NUN military support. At Leon's council meeting, it seems like they were saying that calling in NUNS backup was equivalent to giving up their search for a new planet. Why is this the case? Does it mean that the NUN comes in and take direct control of the fleet and any planets they might find? Or does it mean that they arrive to help mitigate the catastrophe and get the fleet back to a safe colony world, abandoning the mission? Either way, it hints that Leon does not have a final say in the matter, as he is reluctant to make the call. Maybe he just doesn't want the NUN to challenge the legitimacy of his succession. Back to the paper airplanes for a moment, I like the symbolism that is implied by Sheryl's being made from a crumpled piece of paper. I worry though: After fashioning the airplane from said crumpled piece, it soars for a brief, shining moment, then nosedives... But on the other hand, the first plane Alto makes has Sheryl's picture inside it (the poster), the scene where he catches it and flies is pretty much the happiest we see him in the whole series, until he reaches the dome. Later, Ai-kun takes down his airplane in Ranka's room; the Vajra stand between him and Ranka having any real connection. Later, he teaches Ranka how to fold a plane, but Ai-kun catches it again, but does not destroy it; through Ranka's actions, maybe they can reconcile and be together. Who knows?! At least we've finally settled the issue of Ranka's tummy. -
I was assuming that Alto makes a distinction between alcohol (hard liquor) and champagne. He told her to slow down, and didn't seem surprised that she was wasted by the end. If she was drinking sparkling grape juice, I'd think Alto would be a little more incredulous.

Personally, I like the SD battroid & transformation better. The canon version just seems too complex, at least when sandwiched between the VF-1 & VF-5000. Although, I guess that can be used as an explanation for its short usage. It just says "afterthought" to me. I'll have to see what the new version looks like, but I probably won't get it - the VF-4's never been on my short list. -
The VFX recolored 11 looks pretty sweet actually. I may pick one of those up.
-
I think it's nifty!
-
Yeah, I know... At least Revoltech gave us the Regult, but I'm not really expecting more from them, either. Hope this doesn't have any bearing on the the 1/60 VF-11.
-
As always, check out Mr March's Macross Mecha Manual. He's got great pics of many views of the 11 ( & just about every other Macross mecha!), as well as transformation details. Here's the link to the VF-11 page: VF-11

With the 1/72 VF-25 turning out as pretty as it did, that's what I really want in the 171...
