  1. Holy crap... Man if I get this job, I'm so finding one of these for fathers day!
  2. I think it would have been cool if the internals were left matte. Back of knees, feet, upper arms, etc. Then the gloss would stand out as more intentional, and have those portions looking less "cheap-toy" as others have said.
  3. Umm... No? Edit: Nvm, just spotted it. Pretty poor product placement, but I guess they can say it was always there. "Today I'm gonna move this plastic display stand! Bomba!!"
  4. If I recall, he did use the D more, but kicked more ass in the S.
  5. Yeah, been there... It makes it harder to justify these things.
  6. I like that they chose tv britai, but why is he wearing a sports bra?
  7. While I probably won't be getting this right away, I am looking forward to the instructions to show up on 1999.co.jp. My VF-11 jones has been satiated by the Yamato 1/60 for now, but I'm awaiting Hasegawa's decal placement sheet before I sticker it up.
  8. Blah, black is so passé! I'll be holding out for the teal Dynamite version! Totally stoked for this. Damn, I hope I get the job I just interviewed for...
  9. A few years after my Grandpa died, they had to redo the roof at his house. The roofers discovered that the attic was full to the rafters with old 1/35 car models that I'm sure he intended to get to someday. That had me wondering if there was a genetic component to this. Needless to say, my sweet yet stingy Grandma was less than pleased by the revelation...
  10. w00t! Looks like the v-stabs are what DH was hoping for!
  11. I knew you'd practically jump outta your chair. Now, which am I looking forward to more, owning it, or reading your build-up? Hmmm...
  12. Maybe they saw how well the Yamatos sold. Nice to see them doing something new! Maybe someday they'll get to the vf 4 or 5000... Don't mean to sound bitter or unappreciative, this is flipping sweet!
  13. Sigh, I feel like I missed out, but that 15% is insignificant next to the ability to justify buying this anyway. Maybe someday...
  14. Think Geek always has some good ones. A couple years ago, they had a TaunTaun sleeping bag - which ended up licensed from Lucasfilm & produced. Another time it was a pair of Portal t-shirts with cameras wirelessly linked to each other - the oval on the orange shirt would show what was behind the blue shirt & vice versa. My favorite from this year: Playmobil Apple Store Playset
  15. Really? They're going with the tank top? Huh...
  16. Vespaeda: a pic or sketch would be great. Maybe i haven't had enough coffee yet, but I'm not visualizing your suggestion. Thanks for the encouragement. I've got a lot of projects planned, and I've been looking at this one as a stepping stone, but also an obstacle. Now I feel that it really is worth making the best that I can. Alas, with taxes to finish and 70 floorplans to draw this week, I probably won't be visiting my modeling station much...
  17. I forgive you, Kresphy! . It's the final result I've been rooting for all along anyway.
  18. If I was starting this now, I'd have probably drilled out the sockets and replaced them with ball joints. Alas, I've already filled the seams on the body. I was thinking of adding a ring to the existing socket to hold the gun in. Not sure if it would work or not. I might just end up gluing them in attack position...
  19. Yeah, agree wit s001. Ah well, otoh, it makes me glad. Between the yf-29, this, & the "empire strikes back of macross" comment a while back has me excited to see it. Eventually...
  20. Purrrrty. Although in grey, it really looks like the fighter from KISS DUM.
  21. that would seem to be the next logical step. Erp, slow response. So it's like a sound booster for vajra? Interesting. I won't ask further in this thread, but we'll see if my curiosity overcomes my spoiler resistance.
  22. Here was another clip, aired on BBC & Rachel Maddow, that got to me. Especially with the father & kids stranded on the roof of their car. Darn fatherhood, getting me again. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/vp/42142794#42142794 While I'm far away and can't really GIVE money to help, I can divert it. As an anime geek since the 80's, I feel this is a chance to give back something to the society that has given me a lot of entertainment. So starting this week, I'll be donating a portion of all my eBay sales to Global Giving's Japan Earthquake/Tsunami relief fund. I'll post links in the For Sale forum when they go up - mostly Transformers, but also some GI Joe & Warhammer stuff.
