Just pump the "microphone" hand, huh? Please tell me that's fake...

Of the 6, I like 1 & 4 best. Good question, frothy... What's up with the Guantanamos? I thought the gaping front was for fighter launch & collection. In M7, you always see the fighters launching from there. Granted, they changed to the outside launch, but I still assumed the fighters would fly back into that opening. Maybe it's an assault variant or something.

Those are nice. How cheap is cheap, and where do they come from?
-
Yeah, I figures that. I think both joints as pivots would look just fine. I just seems to me that most of the leg posing of the Qrau is at the hips. Granted, the stock hip and groin armor REALLY limit the range on this thing. Meh... Personally, I prefer the cleaner looking tri-barrel to the oversized gatling cannons on the Rea.

Wow, very nice. I think the left face looks better too. The right is too chunky. On the hands, the ball joints on mine are floppy as well, so I could see why you'd consider switching to a pivot. I think if you're going to add another joint at the knuckle, you'd get pretty good poseability with all pivots. The only thing it couldn't do is interlace the figures, as seen here at the M3: Looking at it again - it doesn't even look like the palm is supposed to be circular... On your final 2 ideas: A) I don't think a swivel at the knee is necessary. I really can't recall any pose from the anime that would benefit from that. And it'd be something else to mess with, and another possible point of instability in a pose. B) TV style arms would be a definite improvement over the toy's banana arms. I was going to try this as well. And BTW, if you're thinking of making these available - either cast from the printed masters, or just multiple prints - I'd totally be in for one!

Well, I suppose I could pop the back panels required for the boosters off and reseat them properly for fighter. The trickiest part to change back might be the leg attachment. I agree that it looks better without the packs myself. Of course, if anybody has a spare Hase 1A that they wanna sell for cheap... Edit: Hmmm, it would seem the Super 1A kit (DYRL Max painting on box) doesn't include the naked fighter knee piece. I always thought the alignment was a little off anyway. Nothing some superglue and epoxy can't remedy, right?

Ooh, Zinjo, while you're at it - what about a hi-res of the Quarter fleet prepping to fire their wave cannons? I've already made this shot my wallpaper, but I'd rather not have the song lyrics on it. Thx!

Ah, but with the hatch on the 19, you can recreate the beginning of the M7 movie. Just throw your $300 toy into the snow and see how that pilot figure goes! This 17 looks better & better! Can't wait to live vicariously through others! -
I had dropped a mention of this project back in the thread about MtF. I finally decided on a paint scheme for my languishing Hasegawa VF-1A. I really like the new treatment of Hikaru's VF-1J in MtF, and I thought it would look cool on a cannon fodder brownie. Now, I've been informed that the brownies in the manga look the same as they did in the anime - but who cares?! I worked up a sketch of how it would look. Now, since I long ago committed to building this 1A with FAST Packs equipped, I wanted to look at it again. I came up with these for battroid and Super: So I dug everything out and primed it, then hit it with Tamiya Insignia White, while I was also painting my Regult. In retrospect, I wish I'd looked at the scheme again before I painted. As it is, I wasted a lot of white on areas that will end up brown. Oh well. I had some free time the other day to sit down and mask out the white markings. Then I had to rebuild my spraybooth, as it did NOT work as intended on the first go. But now I'm swamped with work and itching to get back down to the work table.

After a crazy summer, I've finally managed to do a little more hobbying. Watching the 2nd MacF movie this afternoon makes me want to do more, too. I was able to get the acrylic ball joints that EXO provided built into the Regult. The hips are now quite flexible. The cannons are a little stiff, so I'll have to use a wire or nail peg to reinforce them. Right now, I think they'll just pop off, no matter what glue I use. The kit was given a quick sanding and reprimed. I didn't want to lose all the bumpy texture from the last round. Then I gave it a base coat of Tamiya Insignia White. Took me a long time to find some of that stuff, just lucked along a hobby shop 2 hours from home. Unfortunately, while I was test fitting everything, the ball joint of the left foot came loose. So I'll have to rebuild that joint. Someday I'll finish this kit...

That's JOHN F**CKING ZOIDBERG!!!1! I agree that the 29S looks too much like the Metal Siren, which is one of my least favorite Macross designs. It'd probably look ok with a mouth, thoug, as part of Sound Force. -

I like the color scheme - but eech, butterface... -
Now that's disturbing. Way to make a point!

I was looking for photos for a design job on iStockphoto and ran across this: http://www.istockpho....php?st=0785b9d using the keywords: woman, face, profile, eyes "Haba-wha? Misa? Yup, apparently!"
-
Yeah, that's cool. But while I don't have a VF-1, I do have an iPhone. Makes it a bit more tangible for me.
-
Wow, thanks for the iPhone for scale. That's awesome. If only it'd gone to full production...

FTW, but I'm with Limbo. I'd love an enemy mech, but can't afford to shell out $300 for it. Wish I could for the 17. Maybe by the time the D comes out... -

Looks great, but I'm still not crazy about the light gray on the intakes and such. Too light. Unfortunately outta my price range too. If i had to choose this or the 19F, I think I'd go with the 19. Wish I didn't have to, though... -
Cram, MacrossJunkie, your valks look great. How do you do yOur panel lining? On topic, must sell more to get Ozma's!

Haha! I remember thinking that when I first watched W!
