Worst Science Fiction Film of All Time
Kelsain replied to JELEINEN's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Ah, that's something we never got to see enough of in SW: Darth Vader milling about the bridge completely bored. What the hell is going on in this clip? Is this just a filler scene in a classic SW porn parody? (null) -
I saw the wobbling before I even broke the seal and thought: "Well, that's one point of articulation of the supposed 11." So far I only count 6 though. Still, it looks nice. As a static piece, I've got nothing else bad to say about it.

Score, good deal man! I was proud of my $40. To think, I almost got it from hlj...

Thanks for the info, can't wait!

Not lately... Freelance work picked up for a while, which is a good thing. Now that Turkey Day's behind us, I'm hoping to get in a little more time on a few projects, including this one.

Say, outta curiosity, what was the average shipping price that you guys paid on the 25F, from HLJ to the USA? Trying to anticipate the hit on the 25S.

Macross Frontier Movie 2 thread - Now available on Blu-ray/DVD
Kelsain replied to Tochiro's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I feel Alto's kabuki background was handled much better in the films, as well. I liked how accepting that part of himself and using it to channel the girls' song was critical to distracting the vajra queen. That enabled Brera to sneak in and take out the Galaxy Braintrust. In the show, it was little more than an excuse for his angst. I also liked how they used it as the inspiration for both Alto & Sheryl's character arcs. For the most part, I think the movies set up a very solid narrative, bringing forth only the elements from the series that could be used best. Then combining others in new ways, and answering all the questions that were put forth. My only gripes were that I wish fold quartz got a little more exposition, and the death fakeouts. I was happy to see Klan & Michel together, but I think luca should've stayed dead. -
Macross Frontier Movie 2 thread - Now available on Blu-ray/DVD

Is it just me, or did the EX Gears get almost as much screen time as the VF's in these movies? Not that I had a problem with it, just that they really seemed to be embraced as part of macross, rather than an extra bit of nify. -
Or like those magic eye pictures. "It's a schooner!!"

I found this little guy in a box last week. Note how awesome the fighter mode is. Of course, I had to put him on the shelf with the other 2 cute little VF-1's.

Hmm, yeah, like maybe the sun?

Macross Frontier Movie 2 thread - Now available on Blu-ray/DVD

After the awesomesauce of seeing Frontier's special forces in action, I caved. Found a good deal on an EX Gear on eBay... -
Aye, if I could get any of them, I'd probably hear the least about the blue/red uniformed Sheryl - but only if I NEVER utilized the cast-off feature. Lolicon: did you just pick those up at a local store? I think it's kinda funny you didn't want loliKlan, considering your handle.

These look great, but the pack costs almost 3/4 the fighter itself. I'd be willing to bet the armor pack will be more expensive than the 25 at this rate.

Sigh, maybe I should have looked first... I decided to take your advice and do a naked valk build. Pried the backpack apart, then realized that the proper panel for a naked valk is not included in this case either... I guess I'm stuck with doing this as a super! At least all the opened seams are hidden. Ah well. Back to it, then.

Watch out, my shield in nucular!! (sic)

I'd never seen that before. You never know with the interwebz...

Well, maybe the booms on the front of the carrier are converging SD energy collectors. Don't know that it's ever really been contradicted... Who was lamenting in the Movie 2 thread that the cannon fodder ships needed to take a bigger role? As with the original Macross, you could still have fully functioning equipment behind it, and fly in and around the energy gathering area - as long as everybody gets out of the way when it's ready to fire. Actually, thinking about it, in the SDFM & DYRL animation, it always seemed that the energy beam originated around the ship. It was only at the 2nd gen Macross Cannon that it really seemed to fire from within the gunship. Even then, the energy may have just been gathering around the 4 "tubes" inside. Perhaps this is just the first time a Guantanamo has had the chance to shine - ie, not getting blowed up within 2 seconds of appearing on screen.
