My biggest gripe is similar to what has occurred with Macross and the move to CG animation. It seems like once you have a 3D asset for one series, the next series is just going to re-use that asset with a recolor and maybe a few tweaks. Although in Gundam's case, the asset may be more about how much $ they spent tooling the models and trying to milk the molds further. Back to Gunpla, I finally finished dealing my MG Mk-II with the RG style decals. Most of them fit pretty well, despite some differences in the model design. Had to trim a few, and only one set of gray marks was too off to fit, on the inside corner of the front skirt. All in all, I think it looks great, and Elle is ready for launch!

Yeah, just by hand. Could use another coat, though, cuz it’s Tamiya.

Put my best looking ones in the display with the other collectible figs. Kids aren’t allowed to touch these...

Not too long ago, I had this moment with my son: *CRACK* Him: "NooOOOOoo, I broke it!" Me: "Yup, and that is EXACTLY why Benny's helmet is cracked."

I have so many classic space guys that I really don’t need that set. The pink suit is different, but I’d have been more interested if they added green. Looks like some fun sets, for sure; and I bet we’ll get a collectible figure series too.

I was just thinking of reviving this thread, as we’ve been marathoning it this weekend. The whole family’s sucked into it; even my son, who’s 5 & is usually only interested in shows with male main characters. A little over halfway through, and count us as solidly on Team Giant Buff She-Ra.

THREAD NECROMANCY!!!11! So I discovered this box again in my basement, and realized that I was pretty close to being done. So I've spent the last week or so designing decals and then applying them to my MtF brown VF-1A. In order to complete the decals and make efficient use of the sheet, I may have spent some extra time planning out the squadron. This included changing the carrier to the ARMD-08 Midway, as I intended them to be based around a LaGrange Point (thus the LG on the tails) I also may have planned out names for all the members of the current squadron, named all of the flights and experimented with platoon leader color schemes and the squadron leader as well... I can get to that all shortly, but for now; here are the pics of the Stellar Jays #223, BlueJay Platoon, piloted by 2nd Lt. K. Dazai. After a few touch-ups, I'll need to Future this again, then panel line. Given the weather lately, I'm not sure that's gonna happen anytime too soon.

vf-31 siegfried WIP: Alternate Weapons Pods for VF-31
Kelsain replied to Sanity is Optional's topic in The Workshop!
Aw dang. Yeah, it might be time to buy a resin tank for my wife's Form2 then. I've got a few things that I'd like to print for my currently shelved Space Marine, but they were expensive before! -
Meowth talks a lot. There was also a fairly entertaining episode in the original series where the Pokemon got separated from the human characters. All of the interactions between them were subtitled. I'm not sure how I feel about this one, my daughter & her friend will watch the Sh out of it, though.

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
Kelsain replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
That’s right. I remember speculation that they were using full EX gears as well, which would have accounted for their limited flight and Mikumo being trapped under a building. Ah, Episode 1, so much potential... -

Now that's what they should have been wearing underneath their holo-costumes. Not the weird fan-servicey transparent suits that they needed to oil up to get into. -
Meh, just building real life robots & spaceships... Sounds cool, congrats on your degree & putting it to use!

On the other hand, it is kind of cool that it's the exact same suit that the pilots wear, just a different helmet.

Just saw this come across my feed this morning: https://www.gundamkitscollection.com/2018/10/p-bandai-mg-1100-gm-ii-semi-striker.html?m=1 I wonder if there’s a chance it’ll come with the GM kai head, like the P-Bandai GM Mk II?

Thanks for the info, Seto & Sketchly. Very informative. So, that being said, do these seem like a viable way to strike a balance between the organization of the SDFM & DYRL versions of Skull Squadron? I've finally excavated my Hasegawa VF-1A that I'd planned the livery for the "Stellar Jays." I may have gotten a little carried away planning out the rest of the squadron.

They literally activated ALL the potential slayers. Just pick a new one and run with it!

Cinematically, this new series looks too good to be Doctor Who! I really like 13 so far, and Graham seems pretty cool. Not sold on the other 2 yet. At this point, I’m not a huge fan of the new Tardis console room. Not digging the crystal theme, and it just feels way too dark. All of the other rooms in the new series have given me that “wow” feeling at the first reveal, but not this one. My favorite was Smith’s first, because it felt so inter dimensional & weird. Although the police box porch is actually what I imagined was past the Big White Doors in the old series.

Disney's live action Aladdin May 2019
Kelsain replied to jvmacross's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yain't never had a friend like me Uh, uh, yeahyeahyeah I'm envisioning a Wild Wild West / MIB style remix that'll play over the end credits, at least. I bet the songs in the movie will be kept fairly close to the original. That being said, I do think Smith could do something fun with the role. It's been a while since I've seen him play something wacky, but he does have a level of manic energy that he can tap into for the Genie's eccentricity. I wonder if Gilbert Godfried will reprise the role of Iago. -
So, we know that Vermillion Team was part of Skull Squadron on the Macross. It consisted of three pilots: Hikaru in 1J #101, Max in 1A #111 & Kakizaki in 1A #112 Roy as Skull Leader had his 1S #001 Is there literature out there that specifies how many teams are in a VF squadron? And therefore, how many VF's are in a squadron? What about Skulls 102-110? Does Roy have his own team, or just command all the other teams?

Ah OK, so it is smooth. That HP plastic looks really grainy in all of these photos, and I was wondering why you guys had used it!

Huh. This actually looks decent. Would it have been so hard to do something like this 10 years ago? I honestly hope that this is a separate continuity from the rest, aside from the pacifier look and speechless BB. Maybe they can fix him at the end of the movie and actually have it stay that way.
