That was pretty awesome. I was a bit disappointed in the end credit stinger, though... Without spoiling, he could have looked more familiar.- 344 replies

Ooh, that's a neat way to look at it. But I can also appreciate Dynaman's perspective. Here are my thoughts:

The Syfy Channel Original Movies Thread!
Kelsain replied to DuelGundam2099's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah, it would've been fun for her - but it was also our son's 1st birthday. Priorities, right? We'll probably catch a stream of S2 soon, along with some gin & dessert. -

Haven't seen the second one yet, since we dropped our cable... So I take it there's much less sitting-in-car-squinting action this time? The wife was woeful the other day: she's a shark scientist and was unable to attend the big annual conference this year. Apparently they rented out a sports bar for the premier and put Sharknado2 on the big screen. -
You people - I almost considered ordering a second one. Why would I do that? Damn slippery slope...
-
Just saw this. There goes my guilt of holding on to my Ozma over the past few years while it went up in value. OK, maybe a little guilt, since I could've ordered a new one...

Indeed. The X-wing was a successful design - instrumental in taking out 2 Death Stars! Not surprising that it's format would live on. I like the return to McQ's style, much better than anything we saw in Ep 2 or 3. (I like the design in Ep1)

Your most recent Macross or toy purchase! General thread.

I got my VF-19S & VF-1 assembly kit from HKC yesterday. But I'm going out of town and have no time to swoosh it. I'm still a little wracked by getting 2 valks at once, but the shipping savings was good. Normally I only get one a year... I think I'm done for now though, until the new series comes out. -
Every time I see it, I say Schneegans like Jay from the Kevin Smith movies. Not dissimilar from "snoochi boochies." I don't know why...
-
I does look a lot like the original McQuarrie concept art, which I like. But I wish they'd smoother out the lines of the cockpit a little, to match the rest of the craft.

Oh right, I forgot that this was about a 3d model.

http://hkcollectibles.com It's about the same cost as ordering one off of ebay, but you can roll in other items to save on shipping. I almost bought a kit & a VF-1A Movie CF, but decided on a kit & a VF-19S instead.

I have many such grand ambitious ideas. They're ALL in the "we'll see" pile. But first, I've got to reclaim my basement!

I would accept a thicker fighter if the battroid legs looked better. Just as the 19 sacrifices some accuracy in fighter to get a better battroid.

However you feel about DuelGundam's taste in movies, one thing's for sure - he has a much better time at the cinema than most of us. Kudos for that.- 854 replies

I've always thought an engine setup like this would look cool on a valkyrie.

Obviously you haven't started anything yet - it's so clean!

Typically I don't either. But something about the design & black faceplate said "Leave me this way..."

Here's another question for those of you who have painted these: What kind of paint works well without rubbing off? Especially on the heat shield or die cast parts? I see that Kyekye has tried the Duracoat sprays, but what of Tamiya lacquers?
