Free government-provided pilot school? Learning the basics of your enemy's strategy? You'd think the empire would start catching on to this, though.

Looks great in color!

It's confirmed in Rebels (which is official canon) that Stormtroopers ARE civilian conscripts, not continued clones of Jango or even more diverse clone lineages. Honestly, I like that one of the main characters looks like he's a rogue ST. I always played with my figures that way, RPG'd that way, etc as a kid.

In the leaked concept art (which I couldn't resist) the tie fighters do look upgraded. More robust with bigger engines. I'm torn on the ball droid. It looks pretty doofy. OTOH, the ball is much better suited to the sand than R2's wheels. We'll have to see more. I probably would've been more excited if I hadn't already known about the X2's, the falcon & the new troopers, though.

According to someone @ TheRPF, it says "pull to inflate" upside down so the wearer can read it.

Already?! Can't wait for the wife to get home from shopping to watch it on the big tv, not gonna watch it without her! (This is the gal that had SW action figures in her dorm room 18 years ago. Knew she was a keeper) Story wise, I'm positive. Instead a Orci & Kurtzman, he's got Lawrence freakin Kasdan. It might not be truly great, but likely better than Into Darkness.

The adjustments are looking better. I think if you can make the jowel intakes about 2/3 as wide, it'll look more like the lineart in your 2nd post. At that point, I'd probably be satisfied enough to order yours, than trying it myself. I can't wait to see the printed result, though!

Honestly , I'd say skip the lines/raised. I always assumed it was just painted on.

We'll, technically, velociraptor and deinonychus are 2 separate genera. They are in the same family, the dromaeosauridae, as is utahraptor. /pedant

Heh, yeah. Alan Grant was always supposed to be Horner, but the Bob Bakker character kinda pissed me off in JP2. I was working with him at the time it came out, and had a lot of youthful idol worship going. I lobbed a couple curses at the screen when he got chomped. In retrospect, they got 2 things really wrong: 1 Bob would not have freaked out about the snake; 2 his ego wasn't quite big enough.

Which is kind of ironic, considering how different the movie was from the book.

With bandai's figure sculpts, could you tell the difference?

These look great. This scale would offer a lot of benefits. Zentradi would be standard action figure size. Less shelf space. In scale with my mg gundams. Cheaper. However, I can't help but remember the Vf-100 poster of awesome products. At least they made something.

I think it looks pretty good overall. What I don't like is the canopy color, but that's been a turnoff on the 29's too. It's also got some serious gunpod boner. I was hoping that the more lineart accurate crotch plate would solve that. Of course, that could just be a prototype issue. I don't expect the canopy to change due to precedent & movie accuracy. Are the 29 canopies painted clear plastic? Or molded in barely trans blue?

I wonder why they changed the shape of the leg fins?

It's nice, but I think the proportions are off. I go the impression that the updated head was pretty much the same as the old version, just with a little more detail. (The added dimension to the visor & chin, intakes on the cheeks, more divots on the head lasers) I think you've put too much weight toward the chin and reduced the back of the head too much. I'd been toying with trying this too, for my Unassembled Yamato. I just haven't had the time lately.

Now, see, THAT'S the Macross.

The 19s has grown on me. If you like, you can tuck the main laser away. This reduces the dorsal kibble down to 4 lasers & it looks cleaner. ie: Basara's head fin, or Buffalo Bill's wang.

Iirc, the hasegawa fighter has them there, too. I need to finish my preorder for this...

While not really MY guilty pleasure - but my wife's - I have come to appreciate the rapid-fire dialog of Gilmore Girls. Primarily because my daughter is incapable of being quiet for more than 1 minute at a time.

Iirc, Kawamori deliberately skips the even numbered planes.
