The inquisitor would've kicked Luke's ass. He's probably dead by ESB, but I'm sure he's not the only one out there. Aside from Vader's medical handicap , it's also important to remember that he wanted Luke alive. He also wouldn't let the inquisitors near his kid.

I'd get it if it was 1/5000.

It's on my list, but I doubt I'll be the first!

They're still keeping us in the dark. I'm sure the bookstores will have "The Art of Episode VII" on the shelves before it comes out. I'm sure there'll be a chapter about updating the X-wing in it. I enjoyed the regular updates during production of the PT, but they really made everything sound better than it ultimately was. Remember how emotionally raw the Ep3 dialog was supposed to be between Anakin & Obi Wan? Yeah, no... I think I kind of prefer the mystery for now.

No request yet for me. Hmm, have to check on that.

Well put, Mommar. That's the trick with this new movie. People want the new & the old. I was bummed that we didn't get Ys & Xs in Ep3. Audiences want the x-wing, even if it might've been obsolete by now. It's Star Wars, as much as the Falcon, Vader & R2D2 are. But it sounds like there're some new fighters in the mix too. An update makes sense. The X was a tried & true fighter, so it makes sense that there's a lineage. Could it look a little better? Sure, but it works for me, and FAR better than the Ep2 speeders or the Ep3 Jedi star fighters. I'm glad we're back at big fighters, not a cockpit with tiny engines slapped on.

That base looks rickety, is it stable? Cool idea! -
Overall, I like the new X-wing. At first, the stubbier nose bothered me, but it looks better now that it's all painted up. The one thing I don't like is the engine ports. Those look a bit goofy, like PVC tubes, or something. Last comment on the TIEs, since I started that tangent: The PC game TIE Fighter totally made things better. Once you got the hang of flying it, I loved piloting any TIE - except the Bomber.

For that matter, I always thought TIE Fighters got a raw deal in games & RPG stats. THey didn't fare much worse than X-wings or Y-wings. I think Wedge, Luke and Gold Leader were the only ones to survive a single hit from a TIE. Even then, Gold Leader only lived long enough to order Red squadron's attack before he crashed. Somehow, that turned into TIE's having no shields and hardly better than flying in an agile tissue box - compared to the tank of the X-wing.

Actually, this is what I was thinking: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRJ1aDaGN0o Think about it: the ewoks didn't even hesitate to make our heroes lunch. They've eaten humans before, probably imperial patrols & separated individuals. For the stormtroopers, the final Battle of Endor would be terrifying! More this: Instead of this: No wonder it was a rout, once the ewoks jumped in!

Interesting. Another option would be to gather interest for a group order, like the Captain or ChaoticYeti, and ship them all to your house at once. Then you could distribute them to the interested parties. That'd save on shipping.

If George had known that he'd been able to make 3 movies, we would have never gotten the Awesomeness we did. He would have stalled for 2 movies, then tried to cram everything into the last one. /honestsnark I agree that the story of the trilogy could be a little tighter and less repetitive at the end, but I wouldn't change it. Yes, it should dovetail better with the prequels, but that was their job - to fit in with what came before, not rewrite 4-6 to fit 1-3. And yes, the effects could be spruced up a bit, but they didn't do well with the SE's. Back in 95 while they were working on the SE, there was an IMAX movie about special effects. In that there was a full update of the opening scene, which was amazing. It really set me up for disappointment. About the only thing I'd like to see fixed up is the woks themselves. Sure, many out there would like to do away with them entirely. But those little guys were bloodthirsty badasses. With modern techniques, they could look both cute AND tough enough to take on Stormtroopers.

Standalone, we've been drooling over it a couple threads down... Here's some photos from Hasegawa: http://www.hasegawa-model.co.jp/product/25/ & HLJ link: http://www.hlj.com/product/HSG65725/Sci I may add a second one to my order, as I was going to originally convert a VF-1D to Gerwalk, in addition to one in my custom squadron colors. It'll probably just be easier to kitbash with this.
-
Regarding your question on buying enough kits to make a Gerwalk, Hasegawa has just made a 1/72 Gerwalk kit. It's still on preorder and should be released this month. I preordered one @ HLJ for about $18.
