    Hey, Freyja's middle-aged! And of course, micro-Klan is legal as well... Personally: Misa, Sheryl & Kathy lead my list. Kaname might end up there as well. Canaria seems pretty awesome, but we didn't get to see to much of her. I like the responsible types.

    Wow - good eye, Graham. I didn't even look. Considering how many times they got it wrong on Alto's VF-25, it IS impressive that they remembered that.

BONDING MOMENT (Had this with my dad, anticipating it with my son, probably would've had it with daughter by now - if I was still a sahd)

    My memory's a bit rusty, but I think Basara was able to protect himself from one of Grabil's blasts. He was also able to shield himself as Gigile lost control & destroyed Rax.

    To me, it's just like Picard & Kirk always beaming down on the away teams. You want to show the action & how it relates to your characters, not have them hear about it from some redshirt! Is it realistic? Hell no. Thus, all the cracks about it at the beginning of the episode. That was just the producers telling us: "Yes, this concept is silly. Now we will put a Neko headband on our badass pilot." Besides, I believe Arad's words (if the translation is accurate) were "Experiences build character." That is literally what they're doing on the planet. I like it when Macross gets all self-aware. It brings it back to it's parody roots. And then they heap on the melodrama with the 2 kids & get all serious.

    Another thing that has helped me from time to time is Google's translation app. Just snap a photo of the text and you can translate it to English. Sure, it still suffers from being a Google translation; but it's usually enough to give you the gist of the little notations, when you can't figure it out from the picture.

    It also looks like the "pelvis" of the attacker folds forward in front of the chest, rather than backward. This allows the legs to link up with the carriers rather than dangling behind. Elysion: Quarter:

    I've never been a fan of the Gyan, but Gyancelot looks pretty awesome.
