  1. Good... Good... That price range, I can swing. Just need to purge a few things from the pile to justify it.
  2. Nice! Got any idea of your price point, yet?
  3. I've apparently been on a Gundam kick lately. Enjoying IBO overall, but it's been pretty frustrating for this 1/2 season. Last week I binged MSG: The Origin, which was cool and fun - but the CG mobile suits were a little weird. After that, I had the urge to go way back; and I found 0079 streaming online. Watched the first episode of that last night.
  4. I thought that was Claire Forlani, and I thought: "Wow, she looks just like she did in Mystery Men. That was almost 20 years ago..."

    Very cool!
  6. While the big one is pretty much out of my range, I'd still like to get one of the smaller ones some day...
  7. Holy crap! You're gonna need a lot of drawn butter for that lobster...
  8. Ooh, that's a nifty idea. Think it would work with melted beam-saber plastic?
  9. Would it be workable to use the laser from the Striker to replace the missing one for the Interceptor? Or vise-versa? Then substitute a pair of something else similar on the other fighter? In my head, all OT TIE cannons are the same, but I don't actually know if this is true...
  10. Blasted rebels on the production line...
  11. Looking through briefly, it looks like kind of a crappy sale. Very little Macross or Gundam. Not a single item I'd be interested in...
  12. I'll admit that I could be wrong, but I always had the impression that Motoko's thzermoptic camouflage was built-in to her cyborg body. So, in the opening scene, she gets "naked" so that her clothes don't interfere with the effect. Anyway, I realized something about the trailers that's throwing me off: There appears to be very little depth of field in the shots. The characters and backgrounds are in focus, making the scenery look really flat and unfinished. So, while the trailer may be evoking the manga & anime's imagery very well, it's not as effective. In the manga, a clear background allows you to go back and immerse yourself in the environment, to read the "backstory," after you're done with the main story. In the anime, the background are still very rich and detailed, but the atmospheric lighting in the movie does a great job of adding depth. I'm not seeing that in the trailer, but the effects might not be complete yet.
  13. Am I crazy, or had somebody made & posted an Elysion modified into attacker mode? I want to say it was in a little diorama overlooking Barrette City. I could have sworn I saw it here, but haven't been able to track it down...
  14. Chimaera would be appropriate, given how the model came together.
  15. Would you consider extending the black markings from the nose all the way back to the mid-fuselage hump, like so:
  16. Park-goers have ben known to exhibit episodes of rage after emerging from "It's a Small World."
  17. She looks pretty good in the box. I just haven't gotten around to taking her out. The eyes could use a repaint though. They got no soul. Maybe it's the simple paint job, or maybe it's that they've gone for a less cartoony look. All the Rebel ladies have big anime sized eyes. Honestly, as much as I'd like to get Hera, her figure looks more like a cosplayer than her character.
  18. Ugh, it's my grade school pal Yung all over again; telling me he had a Quintesson toy, but couldn't show me because his basement was flooded. the hell? Anyway, I suppose it's for the best. I don't need it, and she'd be out of scale with the 1/12s I've preferred lately.
  19. I had an idea of doing this in 1/5000 scale a few years back. Thinking of it kept me up at night some days. I have neither the skill, tools, money or room to do that! And I only had 1 kid at the time... City 7 would've been 6' long & 3' wide. Then I thought of going to 1/4000 to match the Hasegawa SDF-1 & my Star Destroyer. What's another 1.5'? This has, on the other hand, shown me that 1/8000 is a reasonable scale for me to work in, rather than 1/4000. Considering my (someday shared) hobby area is only 12 x 9, it'd be a lot easier to have 6" to 1.5' long ships around, rather than 1' to 3'. And that's about right for the Elysion. IF I ever tried something like this, it would have to be my own interpretation of the design. I couldn't get anywhere near that accurate to the line art. Call it City 9... Edited for consistent measurements...
