Screen captures would be fantastic. If someone knows of a website with some Focker DYRL screenshots already on it (that I could lift) that would work too. Thanks -

Hey guys, for some reason my computer just stopped reading my copy of DYRL. I'm trying to get four quality images of Focker looking kick butt so I can use them as the back drop to one of my Focker toy display cases. One of the four pics could be Focker himself, the other three would hopefully be his Strike VF-1S. Any chance some of you have pics you could share with me? I guess my other option is to try to download it from somewhere (which I wouldn't feel bad about doing since I do own a copy of it). Any help is definitely appreciated -

When I modified my version of this toy to have functional knees my original intent was to provide a place to also put the gun. I was going to first make the gun collapsible and then create a door in the leg. Once I got everything apart it became VERY apparent that this could never work. The toy's leg cavity isn't nearly as large as it seems it should be and making the stock gun collapse to that size would take small miracles and a lot of hard work. Maybe if a professional fabricator takes a stab at it....

Nothing adds credibility to an argument like a statement as intelligent and eloquent as that. Since you might not understand, the sentence above is written with sarcasm.

Personally, I watched the whole thing and I was VERY tempted to quit it after the first disc (like 6 episodes). I hung in there and around episode 1600 (or at least it felt like that many) it started to grow on me. I went from wanting to burn my own eyes out with a hot poker to wanting to punch the people responsible for it in the mouth... which is a big step up from self-mutilation. Then it ended with some cute bonus episodes which helped reduce the puke taste in my own mouth. Still, I've seen the whole thing, once, and I'm sticking to my guns on this one. The hatred for m7 has grown above 50%

Is that something to be proud of? We know about half the people voting (41 of 84?) HATE M7. Does this mean the other half like M7? No. Somethin' like 20 people hate M2 more than M7 but it seems to me a large number of those people have hated both but dislike M2 more than M7. So, seems the numbers work out where the majority hates M7, a large number more are probably neutral, and a few people like it. That being said, different strokes for different folks. Wasn't my cup of tea.-

Would Jesus like M7?

It's so pretty, if it were a woman I'd have sex with it.

Dude, A1, did you say that?? I know sissies and gays that don't like Mac7 at all. You were way off. A lot of blanket statements are getting thrown out there. I love all the poop references, from the cheerios to what's in someone's head, but none of it has anything to do with which is worse, Mac7 or Mac2. This thread is veering violently off course. So sad... it had been interesting.

Please use the search function. Consensus is the 1/48 is vastly superior to the 1/55s. You will not be let down. It's unknown as to whether we will see more 1/48s any time soon (if the GBP makes it out I'm guessing we'll at least see more VF-1Js). I believe the guy who runs the Valk Exchange is a member and has provided excellent service to many (including myself before I was even a member here).

Sorry A1, I was actually joking about the post above yours by Final Vegeta. I've agreed with you on previous M7 threads, and still do, so I won't waste anyone's time with more of the same.

The post above A1's is big and has lots of words but what exactly is the argument. Is Macross 7 a dirty gay bomb? I got lost...

Seriously, I paid $99 for mine (after I saw the Ebay one go for $120).

I would argue, even if you hated both equally, Mac2 makes you suffer for a lot shorter duration. Personally, Mac2 never made me physically angry so clearly I must hate Mac7 more. I would go on more about this but I think A1 tends to sum up my thoughts in a lot more intimidating way... I don't think people truly get the vehemence of my dislike but you gotta understand his... 'cause you might be the one he'd kill

One thing that hasn't been mentioned, but I thought was nice, the bayonet on the gun is painted silver on the FP version (it's black in the non-FP version). The color variation is very slight IMHO. I love both of 'em... no broken parts... yet.

seriously, once you get over the initial irks of the Alpha it can really grow on you. I hated my first Scott... now I have three of them

Ugh, I just got my 1/60 VF-1S Strike today... and I don't know if "great" is exactly the word I would use to describe it. This is the first 1/60 I ever purchased. Maybe it's because I own a 1/48 VF-1S Strike... and just about every other VF-1S strike ever made, but I feel like this toy leaves a LOT to be desired. After all the praise on MW for the 1/60s (especially in comparisons to 1/55s) I guess I just had way too high of expectations. This will certainly be the only 1/60 I ever purchase.

LOL, does that mean Godzilla owns like 10% of them?

there is some good stuff here: 2 seat conversion thread

As a little update to this thread, here's what I've decided to do: Each one of my display shelves features different variations of the same vehicle. I'm now watching the various anime on my computer. When a particularly cool scene comes on I still-frame the image and copy it to my computer. I'm going to grab two images for every vehicle. I am then going to take these images on a disk to Kinkos or one of those types of places and have them print them the size and width I desire. I will then use these makeshift posters as the backdrops to each "cubby." The tint information definitely sounds like a worthy cause too. I will look into getting this done. It sounds like the toy would be nearly as safe within the display case as it would be if i left it in its box... and I would much rather be able to see my toys then have them hidden in storage containers.

it's true, the suck-potential here is over-whelming... If they're trying to be able to repackage this as a sequel for Mospeada in Japan though there's some hope... Is it ever confirmed anywhere that they definitely are going to sell it as Mospeada 2?
-
or better yet, if Robotech's new series ended up being nearly as bad as Macross 7!!!! Oh Christ... I hope against hope, as someone who is a fan of anime... it doesn't come to that!
-
Holy crap... is this also going to be a Phantasy Star anime??? Damn, fighting Dark Force only to get mobbed by the human creators afterward... now that was a video game!!! As far as everything else goes, only time will tell.

I have the original VF-11B and supposedly the VF-11B with Fast Packs is on its way. I love my original VF-11B and have had no problems with the legs snapping on it. I've been fairly gentle with it but its not like I baby the thing. I'll give a more thorough opinion when both are in my hands

Okay, I'll add some conjecture here. Remember at the end of Mospeada (not New Gen) when the Invid Queen is discussing how humans have followed the path of "Sadow" or something to that effect? It's been a LONG time since I've seen it so bear with me here. I imagine this could work well for a new Robotech also being Mospeada 2. Robotech is going to have a whole new alien threat (as the article mentions) based on shadow. It'll probably tie together with the opening sequence of The Masters. In that scene they're looking at the mounds that represent the ruins from Space War 1 and there's a brief flash of three sillouettes. "What was that?" "A form of inorganic sentry." Basically it seems to be a set-up for a more mystical alien race that also is tied extremely closely to protoculture and that the Invid are well aware of (tying to the Regis' discussion of "children fo the Shadow"). So in both Mospeada and in Robotech there have been allusions to a shadow race. So in the Mospeada 2 dub a division of Mars Base will sweep the galaxy looking to kill off remaining Invid and come in contact with the Shadow Race. In the RT sequel the REF will be searching for the SDF-4 and come in contact with both Invid and the Shadow race.
