Did you read my post here? It states the differences between 1st and 2nd editions and I think it tells you when the change happened. After that they're all the same.

I think that's a poor choice of words F4V. The Alpha does not "sag" in the middle. The VF-0 sags in the middle. You pick it up and it feels like a wet noodle. The Alpha's nose sticks up because the locking mechanisms are designed improperly which causes the nosecone section of the toy to be pulled back into the toy. This is the same problem which will cause an Alpha to sit on its chest instead of the landing gears. Usually it's caused by the locking mechanisms that extend from the crotch into the recessed legs but the position of the slots for the arms to attach and for the nosecone section to attach also play into the problem. Also, the Alpha also plays tricks on the eye because the apex of the nosecone is above true dead center (this makes the slight elevation of the nose look even worse). This clarification is just for those who don't own one and would think the toy is floppy... it's too small and heavy to feel floppy. A better description would be to call it sloppy. $300 for a minty elint would be an absolute steal! I paid $550 for mine . I think I paid $500 for my SuperO and it has a couple spots of yellowing.

This makes me curious. All a manufacturer is entitled to do is SUGGEST a retail price right? It seems to me like much more than that goes on though since so many sellers abide by the suggestion. Do seller's make some sort of agreement to keep items at the suggested price for a certain duration?

Also, Graham has a relationship with Yamato, that's more than most of us can say so yeah, he does have an extraordinary tie. I know they ain't shippin' me preproduction samples!! While that does make me a bit jealous, it does not incline me to believe Graham is leading us astray on Yamato's behalf. He has this relationship because he is a fan of Macross and when he sees sweet Macross stuff he touts it. Nothin' wrong with that.

Ouch... he said stick to Toynami... if that isn't like taking a running kick at Yamato's nuts I don't know what is! The sad fact remains we are but a small demographic and we are not catered to by toys from big companies putting out big toy runs. As such we are bound to get more than our fair share of flubs. Of course Yamato would love to have free reign to sell their product wherever they would like and support those products but legal reasons make that impossible (you can blame HG, you can blame Bandai, you can blame BW, heck, you may even be able to blame Takatoku). The fact of the matter is that all of us outside Japan are skirting a system meant to keep these toys from us. I think it's a bit harsh to fault Graham for anything here. Like it or not, Yamato is supporting us with their products even if they can't REALLY support us and Graham is supporting the one company really doing anything for us at the moment (unless you're super hyped at Bandai's 1/144 offering). Yes, the VF-0s and the YF-19 (apparently) have problems and Yamato is fixing it for the people they can. It's not like Yamato saw it coming and thought it'd be funny to screw those of us getting the product outside of Japan. I agree with everyone here about how lame it is but there's an entire environment at work against us and I, for one, am at least thankful Yamato apparently learns from their mistakes. I will spend a few bucks to get my toys back to tip-top shape, I will be very weary about Yamato's first run products, but I will continue to support my Macross toy slanger ('cause yeah, it's an addiction and they run the cartel). My 2 cents and it's free to you, take it for what it cost ya.

I tend to get that more with the TV fast packs because they don't accomodate the gun as well. The DYRL fast packs work better.

Something else to consider, companies are getting much more savvy to all the implications of DVD distribution. In the US there were several TV shows that were released with different music than they originally aired with because the rights to said music had expired (don't ask me to name a single one, I don't buy TV shows on DVD... except Firefly). Now when the rights contracts are being negotiated they include reference to future DVD sales. This may very well be what happend with Cowboy Bebop and did not happen with Mac7.

That really is great news! It's especially nice to hear that the Shin will include the upgrade.

It looks fresh, it looks clean, but it don't look like $150. I'd still buy it for half price though . Think this is another one I'll have to hope to pick off of eBay a year from now for much less.

Yeah, I've been shopping a lot lately and I haven't come across it yet but Shin's is due at the same time and it's everywhere. Now, personally, I think Shin's giftset will get delayed. This is Murphy's law. Every time I do a bulk pre-order at least one of the items gets delayed holding up my entire order. Since Shin's will be the last item that's supposed to come in... I predict it won't actually be released until July. Back on track, no word of a YF-19 giftset but I'm glad you told me about it because I almost bought the stand alone one but now I'll gladly wait
