  1. Huzzah! Any chance they'll be released concurrently so us people living outside of the greater Asian area can save on shipping??? Man if I could have one box containing Nora, 25th VF-1S, and 25th YF-19, that'd be great! I wonder if they'll be labeled as LEs (or limited version)? Seems like a good holiday season coming up!
  2. Man, it's good to see some overwhelming optimism but I'm in the exact same boat as DND... I'll keep looking for a deal or maybe pick this one up at the same time as some other stuff comes out to save on shipping at the very least.
  3. $220 before shipping? That's crazy talk. It's $220 shipped if you order it from HK where people in this thread have already acknowledged that that's well more than they're paying.
  4. If you absolutely need an elintseeker/ostrich fix, the Yammy 1/60 is essentially your only modern way to go. Unless Yamato is planning something really surprising, I don't think you can expect a 1/60 reissue or a new similar product.
  5. I don't like the 1/60 VF-1 series by Yamato, the VE and VT are no exceptions. Still, they look very nice in fighter mode... That's how I used to have them displayed... there big bandai brother's in battroid with the Yammy 1/60s in fighter in front of them.
  6. Old takas used to go for $500, now they go for $150, so all the new VF-1 toys definitely did reduce the value. You also got to think Miriya, for all the people who own the toys already, what do they care if others get one? For them the value of what they already own is more important than the fact many people want what they have. It's not so much a matter of buying toys as an investment at that point but simply a matter of not feeling like their money was wasted unneccessarily. I'm not saying what's right or wrong, just that it comes down to more than the question you posed. Personally, I never thought the old 1/55s were worthy of reissue... great old toys and all but they should have been modernized as Yamato did... not simply had more released. So I don't want to see reissues of the Elint or SuperO... maybe it's 'cause I already have them... but I think it's more because I would rather see much better versions than dusted off reproductions.
  7. Any reissue, even with tweaks, will hurt the value of the originals. A 1/48 version by Yamato would hurt the value also. The 1/60 versions were amongst the last 1/60s to arrive weren't they? Wasn't the 1/48 already out when they were issued?
  8. I think there'd be lots of different answers to that question... the Inbit were pretty much a mystery with some folks knowing more than others but no one really having the big picture. In that respect, I'm sure a great many might believe that they were the actual mechs they piloted... but anyone who'd ever been in a hive would know otherwise... Really though, the show kinda leads to the potential of the Inbit having a more organic look (they were certainly far more in tune with nature than humans) but in the end they just don't have that look... that's my big qualm. It was probably done smooth just to save money in the animating...
  9. Man, that one has some funkiness with its stickers too... Mine is as mint as mint gets... wonder how much I'd score? These things fluctuate, it'll probably drop down in some time. Usually things tend to get pricier around the holidays though and then drop off a lot toward May... as summer approaches and people spend less time in front of the computer.
  10. Seriously though, imagine if Yamato tried something like that with the Regult, the backlash would be furious and the toy wouldn't even get made. While the original idea for the Inbit may have been they were insects the show was developed so that there were essentially maggots in mechs... mechs that had a slick look to them, not an organic one. While I do like the idea of the more organic Iigaa/Eager, with a dearth of quality bad guy toys in general I'd like to see them start with more line-art accurate efforts.
  11. The worst you can say is that it looks nothing like it did or is supposed to... boo hoo?
  12. After years of pain-staking review, we have decided that the original art of the Inbit is unsatisfactory, so we have re-imagineered it to look much different... and we like it better... so that's the toy you will get. Thank you for your dire desire for any Inbit toy, we're glad to take your money.
  13. The Kaiyodos don't really transform though, they're like rudimentary Legos. You have it in fighter mode, remove half the parts, replace it with other parts and it's in GERWALK, then you take half the parts off, replace it with other parts, and it's the world's most craptastic battloid. The Taka ParoValk (or Toynami Morpher) is smaller than the Henkei valk and the Henkei is about the same size as a Jokemachine.
  14. Shouldn't this be a poll? I'm all about the LV#1 VF-1A. After that would probably be every other 1/48 VF-1 incarnation. After that I'd be stuck between the VF-0 and the 1/60 YF-19 (Fold edition). The YF-19 just doesn't give me that solid feel I love in my 1/48s and the VF-0 has the obvious shoulder problems.
  15. Both had wives and kids if memory serves... that kind of lifestyle can be demanding.
  16. I'm not too thrilled with these either. I think Yamato hasn't been having much luck with colorful paint jobs though. Their original 25th paint schemes flopped terribly, the Angel Birds seems to be languishing, the LVII is in bargain bins everywhere... the Stealth, on the other hand, seems to have done much better than expected. Who would have thought the Stealth Fast Packs would draw so much attention? Actually, this release of another black Valk may trigger a re-release of those Stealth Fast Packs...
  17. Kawamori spent a lot of time in SF, he did put references to San Francisco in other works (yes, the radio station bumper sticker). If anyone has the Animeigo set of Macross lying around I think there's a good paragraph of Kawamori's love for SF in the notes.
  18. Toynami's MPC Alphas were originally displayed in the metallic colors that later appeared on superposeables. Obviously production versions were different so there is still hope.
  19. You can find both the blue guy and the woodland versions at pretty steep discounts. As the blue guy is in the anime I'm going with Mister E. I honestly like them all though but if I were to pick a least favorite it'd probably be the woodland.

    Buying a YF-19

That's someone in HK who wants $65 for shipping!!! I'm guessing you copied the wrong link..
  21. If this isn't the perfect vehicle for Patrick Swayze's comeback i don't know what is!
  22. The CAD shows no heel joint.
  23. bikes look a tiny bit small, necks look a tiny bit long, but overall i'm pretty impressed at this stage. I think the scariest detail is definitely that the ride armor apparently can't support its own weight... hopefully that won't be the case when all is said and done. Too bad CMs didn't really make a showing. I'm REALLY hoping that Inbit is just something they mocked up for this display and not something they actually intend to sell.
  24. The term "protoculture addict" would be a Robotech reference. The term "protoculture" is both a Robotech and Macross reference. Referring to "Protoculture" as the pioneers of a galactic empire would be a purely Macross reference.
