Deadghost, are you saying you didn't perceive there to be an episode missing there too? Lots of people complain about the end but lots also complain about how jumpy the story is (ie. missing an episode).

The trick with the flexis is to buy one of each size and then switch the rods as needed. You end up with a display that has a 6" and two 4" arms or something like that but you can do amazing poses.

TV releases have the fists, CF has the fists, DYRL releases do not. They have been recasted in all varieties and colors, someone should be able to help you out.

Count me in for a movie, I think it's a solid idea. What we have now are five episodes that feel very disjointed, adapting them into a movie might really help (or get so much worse it'd be the epitomy of suck). Thinking positive though, they could develop a flow that was sorely lacking in the episodes and maybe patch some of the big gaps a lot better. That said, it seems some of the reasoning for wanting a movie was because there's a feeling that M0 missed the mark and I'm not sure a movie would fix that. Miriya, I think you're also missing your mark about the common criticisms of M0. It doesn't seem to me that people are upset because M0 wasn't mech porn enough as you allude to by saying people "just wanted more fighting." It seems to me that people were upset because M0 got really spiritual and that seemed to be moving away from the technological science fiction into this more nebulous science fantasy realm. Of course, that's a whole different can of worms.

How do I scale down my pics...
jenius replied to misterryno's topic in MW Site News & Member Feedback
The best way is to use any sort of photo editing software. Pics you take with a modern camera are HUGE and are automatically being shrunk to fit your monitor in most cases when you view them on your computer (you can normally tell because it will say something like IMG58585 62% so it's being shrunk to 62% of the original on your computer). Almost every program made for pictures features a resize option though, I shrink all the pics on Anymoon.com to 680x480, it's a pretty standard size that works for just about everyone although you do lose some detail and you also get more edgies. -
LOL, I wish I worked for Yamato... it'd make this hobby a lot more affordable. Then again, if I worked for Yamato my reviews on all the other manufacturers' toys would probably be a bit skewed... I was going to put a post up about replacing the 1/48's backpack part. Never got around to it but if you don't get some good pics soon I'll post some roughs from that post so you know what to be careful with. The most important thing to remember is just to get the triangle antenna bit collapsed before tucking the backpack up... this will make more sense later.

For more reviews and info on the toys (Shameless Plug, I've been doing them a lot lately) click the link in my sig! To help you on your quest, Here is a link to my 2nd Edition 1/48 post and it has photographic evidence of the changes between the 1st edition and the 2nd so you can better tell the two apart. After that, search around, there's lots of cool Macross stuff out there.

I'd be looking forward to the next set much more if it was a Max VF-1S instead of either Hikaru or Roy... despite the weathering I'm going to feel like I bought the same toy twice (not that repaints matter much anyway).

This subject came up a while back and it was confirmed that that super cool strike version was indeed something produced by customizers, not a legitimate release. I'm actually working on a review of both the Takatoku ParoValkyrie and the Toynami Morpher (Toynami's re-release of Takatoku's design). You can see a morpher in the picture below, it's standing next to the Roy Joke Machine (it should be noted though, Takatoku's ParoValkyries did not come with super armor, that was a Toynami retrofit) Takatoku's ParoValkyries did preceed the Bandai Joke Machines but they're smaller and they're pull-back roll forward toys (kinda like Penny Racers without the Penny) so I can see where they're not on really the same playing field as Bandai's efforts. They are fairly cute SD toys but they're only two mode transformers with practically no articulation whereas the Joke Machine is practically a shrunken and cute-ified 1/55 Takatoku... pretty cool.
-
Yeah, it's a Strike HIK VF-1S (weathered), a Strike Roy VF-1S (I believe also weathered), and a Super Cannon Fodder. No release date.

Sweet! Shameless website plug! You should check up my write-up on these toys by clicking HERE. There's also a massive gallery.

Note in the link: So yes, you can preorder one, but no, it's not out and probably won't be for at least a few weeks. That person you bought from apparently is using the same preorder template from Shin with new VF-0S pics.
-
He's talking (I assume) about the Roy that comes just like Shin's, prepackaged with a Ghost.
-
There are small internal bits for the shoulder parts, you have to have them in the right positions and then it should be pretty easy.
-
October and yes from what I understand.

YES, shameless plug time!!! Read full reviews of the Toynami 1/100 series by CLICKING HERE FOR SERIES 1 or CLICKING HERE FOR SERIES 2. Then, go to the front page, book mark the site, and visit it weekly to see what new reviews get added. Thanks!

LIVE ACTION ROBOTECH (WB gets the rights)
jenius replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
LOL!!! Robotech is not going to have a cast made up primarily of A-listers. The budget will be allocated to special effects, the actors will consist of names we might know, and maybe Tobey, but the rest are gonna be your Shya (sp?) LeDouche types as in up-and-comers or career small player artists. Seriously, Halle Berry as Claudia Grant??? In a movie Claudia's character WOULD (if this were a Macross adaptation) have like six lines... why would you pay Halle Berry for that? -
I had some fun posing the 19... didn't get quite as crazy as some of the poses on the other pages though but I think the pics came out pretty clean.

Hey guys, check out my newest review, it's of the 2nd edition YF-19 but I'd really appreciate it if any of you who have experienced problems with the 2nd edition would give it a read and see if I didn't miss the issue had. I didn't mention a bunch of things because they seemed more 1st edition specific... like the neck hinge.
-
Oh wow, I was assuming it was the Minmay Act but seeing as only six are pictured these must all be the standard variety. I can't wait to see it, my guess is TV Max 1A, why not, that's practically what the first one was.... Edit - I love how we got a Focker VF-1S strike in the first set and now we get a Super Focker VF-1S... LOL, that's a ton of variety there! The Strike VF-1S Hikaru being followed by the Super VF-1A Hikaru isn't exactly dramatic either... but oh well.

LIVE ACTION ROBOTECH (WB gets the rights)
jenius replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well yeah, you definitely can't make 85 episodes into one movie but DYRL proved you can definitely condense the first chapter pretty well but changes will have to be made. -
Macross 25th Anniversary and upcoming new TV series thread
jenius replied to azrael's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics

Nah, you follow the REF and return like they do in Shadow Chronicles. Leave the Masters arch off screen. -

He's an oddly romanticized (among RT-philes) bit character from The New Generation portion. If you recall, Scott and crew find Soldier Town, a town the Invid don't seem to be attacking despite the fact it's packed with soldiers. It's discovered that the legendary Commander Wolfe is running the place and he's taking small packs of soldiers on missions to a nearby hive to steal protoculture. The truth of the matter is, he's buying the town's safety by surrendering promising soldiers to the Invid on these little missions. Rand figures out his rouse and he redeems himself by saving Scott's life but surrenders his own in the process. Scott's all thoroughly impressed by Wolfe's piloting skills in the episode despite the fact they don't seem all that spectacular but that's another issue. He's just enough of a cold badArse that fans seem to like him. Banking on this, and increasing his brand, the RT novels gave him some bigger backstory where he was knockin' boots with Dana Sterling at one point and was an expert hover tanker as well as an expert Alpha pilot.
