It's pretty standard Yamato operating procedure. They make X amount of them, they sell out, then a year or so later they make another batch. It's doubtful your boat has permanently sailed.

It gets even more confusing because the Fast Packs are called "Super Veritech Armor" by Toynami: Yes, an "Armored Valk" should be the common way of referring to a Valk equipped with GBP, a Super Valk should be a Valk with Fast Packs, and a Strike Valk should be a Valk with Strike Cannon.

MegaHouse's needing a stand to... stand just dropped them down a peg in my anticipatory book. That's a shame... not entirely unexpected... but definitely a shame.

bad math, oops. Okay, a ride armor stands 85.2" according to RT.com. So, the toy must be 1/12 scale 'cause there's no way it stands a full 8.5" tall but it's definitely taller than 5.7" a 1/15 would be. There were 1/12 scale models so that'd all work out.

Toynami's MPC is 1/10 scale, not 1/15.

Hikaru's VF-1J was never actually produced... they did some ads but never actually sold him.

That CMs one looks TERRIBLE... might be really cheap though.

Zinjo, you're just as right as NB4M. It's an equation with an X & a Y and NB4M addressed X and you addressed Y. If it costs only a bit more to make then you don't have to sell as many, if it costs a bunch more to make you have to sell a ton. Both costs and the number you can sell are pretty important. In this case, NB4M has stated that the cost to make should be minimal so the cost of the very minor retooling could be covered even if only a "few" sold. If it would be a cheap alteration then Yamato's problem more lies in guessing demand and producing the correct quantity. So, if it'd take 1K in sales to cover cost but Yamato makes 5K and only 1K sell then Yamato has costs covered except for the additional cost from the production of 4k in unsold units. So the real question here is how good is Yamato at guessing demand and how much drive do they have to make this variant (if NB4M is right and the cost would be minimal).

does anyone know what happened to Toynami at all? Even their Aoshima product has failed to materialize... no Shadow Chronicles stuff, no more 1/100s, and when was the last MPC? Something is afoot...

Personally I think much of this (compromising) is a scale issue. A really great ride armor could be made at a larger scale. It's time some company man's up and produces an ultimate 1/6 creation!

Did I miss something, why no switching on the last two/ That keeps the switching alive. I wouldn't have a problem with that but I suspect if we couldn't get a VF-1D getting a VF-0D will be hard... but maybe if 1/60 is their go-to scale that's the reason of the death of the 1/48 VF-1D.

So Carl, does your Japanese Tread/Tlead have a manufacturer stamp at all?

I'm not sure if the Gakken of Japan releases bare any stamp at all or if they are marked Gakken of Japan (I think they are marked Gakken of Japan). They do not bare the Gakken Singapore stamp that the Lansay does. Hopefully Carl will clarify. It doesn't look like there are any paint differences like there were on the 1/72 Legioss toy (the japanese one has white arms while the Singapore one has arms that match the color of the body). Yeah, but at the same time, why would you show a garage kit on the same page with a bunch of legitimate releases with the subject "Mospeada Toys"

Hurin, we need more pics! Carl, correct me if I'm wrong on this: There are prototype Gakken Tread/Tleads that were designed for future distribution in Japan and are stamped "Gakken of Japan." Some of these were used for marketing purposes and are decaled up but there's no official Gakken of Japan boxed Tread/Tlead as it never did make it into full production for the Japanese market. Gakken of Singapore however did receive an order from Lansay and shipped a bunch over to France. How much is a bunch? In all likelihood, a "bunch" is pretty darn few but I don't think anyone knows. These toys are all stamped "Gakken of Singapore" though and are almost always what you see up for auction.

You're probably right on the hump Carl, the blur had me thinking the hump was located on the center of the Tread. Edit - it looks like the Beta's arm only grabs the heels of the Alpha (RT terms) rather than extending to the crotch.
