Honestly, I don't think Toynami has gotten better, I just think more retailers have gotten wiser. This toy was due out MONTHS ago. Toynami originally told publications it should be expected March '08 and it gracefully slid to December '08. This sounds way too bizarre and I hadn't heard anything about CMs doing something unique with these releases. Is it possible you saw a collection of stuff CMs had given a store to use to set up a display or something?

Good lookin' fix Eugimon! Quick Yamato Impression: "Metal? In a joint? Inconceivable!" Okay, that's kind of unfair considering how metal-tastic the feet are on the Destroid.

You must try harder, this was a few pages back: http://www.yamato-toys.com/dev/release_010...l?infolnk=index

Revoltech FTW. The Gnus just don't look that much better and in my experience a Revvy costs $20 and a Gnu costs $30 or more. The Revvys are more fun to pose and come with more accessories. I have both but I think the Revvys were the better buy.

Out on the market? Yes, there are 2, the Beige standard Tomahawk and the Weathering LE. The Olive Drab is due out this month and it will be the third to the market (unless you don't count the weathering edition).

FYI - Fuke CMs appears to be out, no Shinobu yet.

Having had no 1/60v2 problems, and having owned tons of 1/48s and seen all manners of problems, I'm liking the 1/60v2 more. Sure, maybe the 1S and potentially more have issues but the first three 1/48s had nosecones that fell off in the wind, wing flaps that fell off almost as easily, loose airbrakes, etc. Now, all that stuff is just annoying, not as serious as a break, but if the shoulders are now truly fixed then I think the 1/60 easily trounces the 1/48.

They put that info up a while ago, before Beagle announced the two month delay of the Japanese version. One would presume that this means the Toynami release will be delayed until February unless Toynami somehow got Beagle to allow Toynami to release it first.

I'm going to hold off on criticizing the hands. It seems totally possible they're made of better stuff this time around like the Aoshimas were.

Let us know your opinion again in 1 year when the wing on your YF-19 won't sit still and your VF-0S has no arms. -
Oh wow.. just noticed that they got the chest intakes wrong also. In The Shadow Chronicles all of the Alphas feature Shadow Fighter chests. Not sure if the VTOL is supposed to be there but I'm guessing probably not. Wow... Toynami definitely did not try hard. My complaints about the Beta already: 1) Legs are too short... It has the build of a primate. 2) Cockpit folds down without being concealed... although I think we all saw that coming.

The problem is, with Graham no longer being on Yamato's speed dial, who could deliver that sort of message? Our best hope is to have someone who attends shows in Japan ask a Yamato rep and the folks at shows often aren't reliable sources of info.

Since the head looks right in soldier mode it may just be a case of loose fit. My MPC Rook's head fits really loosely in fighter mode but the hinge is on correct and looks fine in soldier mode. It's definitely a let down that Toynami scrapped the Aoshima improvements. They said they were still bickering with Aoshima over some parts of the molds... maybe Aoshima refused to give Toynami any of the parts involved in the improvements.

I opted out of the Olive Drab... for now at least, I wouldn't be surprised if I pick one up later. I'll be putting a post up on my blog when I have the time.

Hmm, can't say, but it does look like you might be able to play with the angle of the lasers (like pointing them out a bit). -
Low Vis with Strike Parts? I can see it now: "Funny, you don't see clouds in space very often. Oh crap it's a VF-1 Gaaahhhh!!!" I vote no Strike Parts on a camo scheme.
-
Oh I hope to God it's delayed. Please... my wallet is BLEEDING... oh, nevermind, that's a hemorroid. Just kidding, but I do hope it's delayed. I never expected Toynami would actually release their Beta this year so now I have to scrape together another $150... and that Weathering Tomahawk was a pretty penny also.

It's not a bundle per-se. It's a "weathering edition" and limited to 100 pieces via raffle. It's part of the same deal with ordering the limited Edition 1/48 Max TV-1A. If you ordered the TV-1A you were put in the Hik 1S raffle. You would already know if you had won.

New arms design/rethink for VF-0S new release - Overdrive rep talks to
jenius replied to ruskiiVFaussie's topic in Toys
The VF-0S Ghost Booster is as sweet a VF-0 toy as they've made yet. Did you buy it new? Is it possible someone swapped out the VF-0S in the Ghost combo with a 1st edition VF-0S (because all the problems you talked about are extremely common on the first edition). When you pull the feet out do they seem to lock at some point? That's how you know you definitely have a 2.0 0S. -

It's definitely a little brittle prototype they don't want to break. Way too soon to be concerned... Remember what happened with the SV-51? -

The finish on those toys looks outstanding and the joints look nice and beefy without being eyesores. This thing looks fun. -

I love the transformation pics. The pic of the back landing gear also goes far to explain why it is the way it is. -
I think the Ride Armor market is going to get very saturated very quickly. Houquet and Shinobu might sell alright but with the Beagle coming to market these paint schemes that didn't show up in the animation may be in for some pretty small sales. Here's a pic of Mega House's existing Dark Ride Armor toy for comparison purposes:
