  1. So Sam, the question is, what number is your blue? I'm trying to find the highest number they released.
  2. I would imagine if you stood a ways back, used a digital camera set to take large pictures (on a fine setting), turned the flash off and the speed way down holding the camera very still you could get some good pictures. Then just crop the pictures later to have only the poster and since the picture is large enough the cropped down poster should still be very large with plenty of detail. Obviously you'll want to have plenty of ambient lighting that's not reflecting off the poster. Well, that's how I would adapt my technique for taking pictures of black toys at least (essentially just lots of ambient light and no flash).
  3. If you own an MPC Alpha, I humbly request that you click here and respond to my latest post. If you've never left a comment for me before don't worry, you're not going to get spammed or anything like that.
  4. You're looking at it too hard. Unlike the CMs where all the Betas have the exact same head, the Toynami red Beta features a unique head with a fin and a little sensor on it to better emulate the head of the matching Alpha. Sadly, they didn't bother emulating the Alpha's paint scheme better, that would have been awesome. As LSB said, you're thinking of the sticker sheet that Mega House had that allowed you to convert a Stig figure into a Wolff figure. CMs is going the next step further and producing an actual Wolff figure with purple under garments (instead of Stig's red) and a unique head sculpt. I can't wait to learn more.
  5. Those come with the Green Legioss/Tread combo. What's the new price for the green CMs combo set? I want a Col Wolff (or whatever his name is). Is that some sort of website exclusive or event exclusive or is it a future release?
  6. When you find a decent Legioss let me know! So far you have your choice of mediocre at best options...
  7. The shuttles in Southern Cross always made me scratch my head. They looked like something from the early 80s but at the same time the military had giant space cruisers and transformable hovering tanks.
  8. Read the picture... that's an Aoshima Legioss connected to a Toynami Beta, not a CMs Legioss. You could probably mangle a CMs to attach it to the Toynami Beta but it will never look as good as the Toynami Alpha connected... and probably never be anywhere near as stable.
  9. There were two plants for Gakken toys, Gakken Japan and Gakken Singapore. Gakken Japan made the toys sold in Japan, Singapore made the toys sold everywhere else.
  10. There's also a review at my site, I'd give you a linky here but I'm at work so you can click my sig and take a look around.
  11. Thanks for the info. Any chance you have a pic of that Gosu? I would love to see a new take on it.
  12. Dang... i vowed never to buy one of those but at that price...
  13. Where have you been? No nosecone opening, no missile pod storage (although they are independent missiles), the intakes are just like the 1/48, no air brake, no antenna.
  14. I wonder if hovering was used extensively to keep animation costs down...
  15. Here, I took the bitching to a whole new level! When I graduated college I was delighted to see The toy I always wanted, A Mac Plus YF-19 It couldn't hold its gun but I was still pleased Then I tried to transform it and broke it's "tab B" Some time later my YF-21 lost its shoulder but you couldn't tell depending how ya hold her A promotion and wage increase made me bolder So I got a 1/48 that broke at the backpack folder I then purchased my next toy, the VF-11B Only to find my new toy's hips had leprosy Perhaps a VF-19A would reduce this agony? It might have had the paint not been so flaky Another VF-1 toy would soon be made mine A diecast partsformer of questionable design Missing screw covers and crooked guns made me whine And despite all the flaws I bought at least nine My 0S was the floppiest bird you ever did see Like a worm with wings and narcolepsy So I left it in battroid posed menacingly Then the arms fell off in a strong breeze I was so upset I nearly skipped the 1/60 19 but I got it, in fighter it shoots its own knees I even got the LEs for the 25th anniversary My favorite “Excalivor” whatever that may be With so many heroic failures I got a bad guy Gumma Ivanov, a kadun of war, tyrant of sky But his wings were limp, his missiles wouldn’t apply And a backward hinge left a wing misaligned Fortunately for me there’s a brand new VF-1 With a design and durability second to none Follow these steps your toy will be nothing but fun Remove, smother shoulders with epoxy, you're done!
  16. I don't think you can limit Southern Cross' unpopularity to its mecha designs. Poor mech designs are easier to overcome than a plot that doesn't grab people and characters the audience doesn't like or relate to. Southern Cross had lots against it and it really required people to stick with it for a bit while it developed but it didn't have enough of a hook to keep people coming back (and yes, something as simple as sweet mech designs could have been that hook).
  17. There was only ONE 1A with a broken hinge we saw and I don't think we've seen a single broken shoulder since. The odds are much better than 50/50 on you not having shoulder problems from what we've seen so far.
  18. OOH super dimension burn! No no Graham, they're known as the "dirty dozen" on the Robotech boards.
  19. LOL, I like that drawing for its pure excess but I don't think it should ever be emulated... it's kind of silly. I'd like it a lot more without the giants hip mounted guns. Edit - the artist also got the right leg wrong... he has the toe starting at the knee.
  20. Plastic on the Weathering Edition.
  21. Ooh there are lots. There was a Legioss Tread combo toy never released seen in one magazine scan (scale unknown, transformability unknown), there were all the "Dark" variants that never got produced, there was the 1/72 Tread which only saw a release by Lansay in France but was planned for all color variants in Japan, there were diecast figures planned in 1/20 scale for houquet and Yellow (in both bike and armor modes), and I'm probably missing a few....
  22. LOL SDK, you missed your era... right now you should be somewhere in the 60s obsessing over the JFK assassination.
  23. Vegas inspired me... an Easter Egg that hasn't shown up yet on my site:
  24. Double post. EDIT - Miriya, I've added a comment to the post with a credit to you. -
