Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.3
jenius replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Is that a solid piece of metal that's been cracked in two? -
I think the Japanese MSRP is over $260 US at this point so Overdrive's $220 isn't bad at all. They ship quick... too bad for me today was a holiday.

Macross Frontier opinions. Happy or upset with it?
jenius replied to unclechopchop's topic in Movies and TV Series
I thought Mac7 sucked and that episode was a bit strange but it certainly didn't make me throw up my hands at the whole series. -
Bandai/Tamashi Nations 1/100 lineup. 2009 takeoff!
jenius replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Yes, word on the street was that BW charges a comparatively large licensing fee. Maybe Yamatos recent quest to make every single paint scheme ever dreamed of in 1/60 is an attempt to saturate the market so thoroughly that Bandai doesn't go nuts with the VF-1 in 1/100 scale form? I think it would suck super hard (but be great on my wallet) if Bandai followed the VF-25 with the VF-1 and then proceeded to spend the rest of the year just milking VF-1 1/100 releases in every paint scheme. -

I think Luca's VF-25 has the Elintseeker and Mikhail's 25 all sorts of trumped for cool factor, I'm with Miriya. If they're making a bonus super pack that includes a Ghost then this thing is just all sorts of MacF awesomeness (even if I expect the Ghost would be a pretty lame representation). Now, Mikhail was a cooler character but if I'm getting just one of the mechs? Definitely the greenie. -

Lots of sensitive Eva fans in this thread... Eva is totally an anime, and so is Macross, I don't know why I thought it was off topic, my bad. -

It seems to me that a lot of people who seem to have issue with Macrossworld lately are part of the very issues they complain about. I was pointing out that the last several posts (which make it appear as if there is 1/100 news) were off topic, which is lame. If you go to 1/100 Macross threads for discussion in Eva talk then I can see why you'd take issue with my statement. -

I checked this thread for 1/100 Macross talk and all I see is Eva talk? lame. -

how about a 1/60 Koenig... it'd make more sense in lots of ways... and still be too large. -
Cool, so you'll have your choice between an anime colors set or an Olive Drab set. I'm sticking with anime colors.

far left = mega house

The Beagle is 1/10 scale, quite a bit larger than the Mega House or CMs Ride Armors but a hair smaller than the 1/8 Gakken.

This is one of those conversations that sucks not to be happening in person holding an Alpha toy. I believe what you're saying is that, if that piece didn't flip over on one of the intakes then when you transformed the toy to soldier mode the canopy would knock against it and you'd be left with the nose pointing out more rather than going straight down the soldier's back. The easiest solution I can come up for that would be to simply put the piece on a spring (although a more secure plastic elevator would probably be more ideal). The spring would keep the piece elevated in fighter mode so it appeared to be the right height but it would then be depressed by the force of the canopy hitting against it.
-
It's really simple to delete. Instead of putting it on a hinge put that piece on two springs coming up from the inside or on a sliding mechanism that allows it to be depressed. Just don't have it connected to the intakes and there ya have it.
-
Yeah, that always frustrated me about every Dark Legioss toy made... nobody bothered to just delete that flap. It's really easy to design away where it doesn't exist and fighter still looks good but nobody ever bothers... how sad. The good news though, while I may say shadow fighters have no shoulder array, in Shadow Chronicles some of the newer Shadow Fighters do.
-
There's a story behind that. IIRC, in that episode, Max single-handedly blows up a Zentraedi ship so the animators were like "Wait, one VF-1 shouldn't be able to do that... let's draw missiles all over his tail fins to explain it." Then again, maybe I'm typing too much when I'm tired again.
-
My greatest fears usually involve acquiring STDs or getting someone pregnant. A live action Bebop could be fun... and it could potentially be like Post Man bad which would be fun also.
-
I'm pretty sure each has unique stickers. Hikaru has to as the stripes on his arms are red. I suppose it's possible Max and Milia have the same since they both have white strips but I think even their's is unique.
-
You're probably safe, the Beagle costs an arm and a leg, i'm guessing a few will stick around in stores while people wait for braver souls to let them know if it's worth the price. In other news for Beagle fans, I'm pretty sure I have the release order figured out from some conversations recently. See the last paragraph of my latest post at my site
-
Pssst.... Shadow fighter's don't have shoulder arrays.
-
I don't know how you'd make them work but the superposeable fixed hands ought to work perfect.
-
HG is private so any supposition on their financial health wouldn't be worth anything. They're probably doing fantastic all things considered and their staff seems to be about 10 people deep at most so layoffs seem unlikely (and that 10 might include the two people who did CGI on Shadow Chronicles). They probably made money on the Shadow Chronicles and selling rights to WB and they're probably picking up a fraction on every Beta sold.

Ah, so Joel is the source of the information. Well, we'll all know soon enough, that's for sure. Back in the day I asked a Japanese toy distributor about the Beagle and he told me that they were uncertain but Beagle was hoping to have Ray out in March. That's certainly not very reliable info though so anything is possible. That was also before Beagle delayed Stig by two months... it'd be sad if we weren't getting Ray now until May.
-
Yeah... I'm a fan of that also... Crud, I can't get all these weathering specials, they're just too darn expensive so I'll probably let it pass.
