I like the 1R head... bastardization or no.

It's primarily a lighting effect, the same thing you'll see when people use bright lights to photograph Bandai's DX line. It's probably not noticeable under natural light conditions but it might be something to consider if you're going to have the toy in an extremely well lit display case. Generally it's caused by two different compositions of plastic being used so the toy manufacturer then has to choose if they want the toy to look right in a natural setting or under extreme light.

Looks like i'm in for a long haul too, i ordered mine with the VT-1 which just got delayed 2 months

I would guess we will see a LV scheme some day... I think they're going with the odd color gray blue as to help differentiate it from future LVs. I kind of like their story of it being a prototype bird.

I love Overdrive but from experience with other vendors I've given up entirely on waiting on anyone to get stuff back in stock. It's never up to the stores, it's up to the suppliers, and more often then not the suppliers are terrible at communicating when more stock will be available.

These were the only 1/48 issues that spring to my mind (and most were pretty rare): 1) BP8 breaking 2) The housing for the hip's ball joint breaking making legs loose 3) Little hooks on the backpack not being able to hold the pressure of the backpack 4) loose/floppy airbreaks 5) VF-1S Hikaru not having nubs to hold the backpack up

To be fair, without fast packs these things are about $100, not $200 and certainly not $200+.

It's a manufacture issue for the most part. If yours are all fine then they managed not to get stressed when the pin was inserted. After that the pin has a fat side to it that can eventually crack the housing as the arm moves. If you're fortunate enough to have pins without too much of a fat side then you'll be fine (but that means you've gotten lucky twice).

Uh, did you mean you hope they DO create these in 1/60? I really hope they do, I'd be all over that.

The Yamato scheme isn't very original and I'm sure the Toynami scheme will have trim in slightly different spots so no worries there. I'm stoked, something at SDCC I can hunt down.

I know what I'm asking for for Christmas -
A couple thoughts on the weathering (and I've never been so brave so you can dismiss them as coming from someone with no experience): 1) The brownish color seems wrong, that makes me think it's a rusty/dirty plane rather than a worn one. 2) Should missiles be weathered? Wouldn't they be added on and removed for every mission (and probably with a fairly short lifespan).

Fuke (Foo-Kay) is how the name Houquet (Hoo-Kay) in Mospeada was originally romanized by Mospeada's merchandisers. Many merchandisers today still retain the less than perfect romanization. Houquet is Robotech the New Generation's Rook. There are many mis-romanizations that have come from Mospeada like Ray to Ley and Brough Superior to Blow Superior.

Not very exciting after my deluxe Beagle "Ley" review but I just updated my post on the MH Black Ride armors to include the Black VR-41 released earlier this year.

Funny point, check out the image you attached and where the nose is in relation to the knees

Uh... I believe Blacklotus has forgotten about the Version 1 of the 1/60 which obviously used quite a different mold, included diecast, and used partsforming. The truth is that all the VF-1 toys take some liberties. The 1/48 has its head in the right spot so if battroid is a big deal for you that's something to consider (but it also has slightly thin arms, a chest that's a bit large, and a nosecone that comes down too low).

All you people with standard Detolf set ups will be soooo screwed. You'll have to remove a shelf and display in storm attacker mode. I love the sound of this bohemith but practically I agree with Graham. I'll get one and cherish it either way but I can only imagine the look my girlfriend (potentially wife by then) will say when I take it home and it towers over the shitzus.

Overdrive now offering replacement parts for Yamato

I'll bet the next round of Roy arms will have the better pin so think of this as a blessing in disguise. -

I've never sold toys, and I don't ask the guys who sell me toys, but I know from other retail experience for luxury or not everyday goods that 100% is a pretty common mark-up. -
Maybe what I thought was the early Toynami was actually an early Beagle sculpt... that'd make sense since I thought it was bad. Either way, I'm not so keen on the Fuke pictures you have there but they certainly are no where near a deal-breaker. Looks like Fuke may also be the first to finally come with a headless helmet huh? That'd be cool. Yes Agent GHQ, there will definitely be a Bartley type Beagle released. I do think the Mega House line is dead... and I have no complaints about that. The more I compare them to the CMs or Beagle lines the less I like them. They are a heck of a lot better at being "toys" than the CMs things are (CMs toys can be soooo irritating) but they're fugly in bike mode and misproportioned as armor... and the rider figures are hideous (although the face sculpt on "Ley" was a lot better than CMs).

The head sculpts on the Beagle/Toynami MPC Fuke/Rook look TERRIBLE in my estimation so far. The Beagle version looks like a Dr Seuss character of some sort and the Toynami version looks like something I, having no sculpting experience, would create.

I love these Beagle toys.

This doesn't apply to Eugimon but I feel like I should do a PSA after having implemented a credit card/merchant system: If you ever attempt a transaction, either online or in person, with your credit card and you get either an error message during processing that forces you to resubmit your data or have the person say "Hmm, your card didn't go through, let's try it again" then chances are your credit card's Internet reporting will show TWO transactions. Do NOT panic, this is just something credit card companies do to be conservative (although it sucks because while you are showing two transactions your credit limit is reduced by the amount of a transaction that does not exist). Credit cards show authorization attempts online, not actual sales. It can take up to a week for them to clear authorization attempts that never became sales from your online reporting (although they'll almost always do a check before sending you your legitimate statement). So, if you ever see a double transaction on your Internet reporting, and you remember a failed authorization attempt, wait a week before calling the vendor to find out if they need to refund you money. In most cases, in that span you're waiting to call and complain, the charge you would complain about magically disappears because it never received authorization. Over the last two years I've had to tell countless people "We only charged the cardholder once, tell them to call back next week if they're still showing two charges" and I don't think I've ever had a single person call back the next week.

Finally updated that Ley post, twice the picture-y goodness for you now.
