I'm sure some patience will pay off for you in spades... Yamato has to eventually make this available in some other way.

Well it's good to see they at least got the chest intakes right and incorporated the Aoshima improvements. Honestly, if this is the Aoshima valk with better quality control then it does stand up better against every Alpha released yet. Clearly though we're a long way from where we'd like to be.

I think you meant to put this in the Mospeada thread. EDIT - To date you can't just buy the upgrade parts by themselves. EDIT II - musta been confused... this IS the Mospeada thread.

Can you blame them after what you have done? For shame... for shame....

The VF100 doesn't work very well in that mode at all. I think I have a pic on my site but I heard some members who couldn't get it to work at all without a stand.

I'm hoping to get myself some of those T-Rex bags.. they look sweet.

Anybody here into car stereos? I need a little help. Back in the day I owned a Corvette that came with the factory Bose system. I hacked all that out and replaced it with all good after market equipment... that wasn't my intention at first but I quickly learned with Bose once you do one thing non-Bose you have to convert the whole stupid system. I now drive an Audi A4 with the Bose system and recently, it appears, my amp gave up the ghost. I get audio only occasionally and it comes on and vanishes with a loud pop. The dealership told me it was the Head Unit, which I replaced, but the problem is still exactly the same so I'm pretty sure at this point its gotta be the amp. I'm not too bitter about getting a head unit I didn't need as I now have nav, bluetooth, and a USB port so that's all good. Anyway, I was told that on the 2002 and up Audi Symphony II cars the Bose wiring and speakers are compatible with after market equipment and that I can simply bypass the amp and run wires from my HU back to the Amp out and then splice into the wires there (or, get any old 4 or 5 channel amp and run wires into that and then splice the outs into the existing wiring). That sounds awesome... if it's true... but my old Corvette experience is making me doubt the validity of this claim. Is this true so long as I keep Bose speakers in the car and it's just replacing the speakers that requires me replacing the existing wiring? I'm definitely not savvy with car stereos so if anyone has been down this road let me know. -
I haven't looked through my CMs figures yet but I'm still planning on selling all extras so stay tuned. In the meantime I have another review up at Anymoon.com... go check it!

What they really ought to do is package these vinyl toys in giftsets with other mecha... but then hella people would complain that they had to buy a toy just to get the softbi they wanted so maybe not.

I guess if you buy the premium version of the game it comes with two passes to give to friends, each card featuring 10 days of using the game for free. I'm happy to report that after the first 20 minutes the download speed has really picked up. I should have the 7Gigs by after the Superbowl

My table currently has the following toys on it: 1) Anniversary VF-1S Focker 1/60 V2 2) Takatoku GBP + Hikaru 1J 1/55 (Hik is reissue) 3) Yamato V1 1/60 Hik+GBP combo 4) Yamato V2 1/60 Hik+GBP combo 5) Yamato V2 SuperOstrich 6) Yamato V2 Elintseeker 7) CMs Character figure box (still unopened) Not yet on the table: 1) Yamato Hikaru 1J + GBP in 1/48 scale 2) Bandai 1/60 DX VF-25S + Armor I was hoping to get my GBP review up sooner than later but with all the comparisons I'm doing with other versions of the toy it looks like it's going to take a while.
-
The last VF-0S had the shoulder improvements so it's really hard to believe these wouldn't also. Then again, Yamato took old stock and made it the Hikaru that goes in their Hikaru+GBP release soooo you never know with them.

I'm trying to download this game via torrent now.... I can't get any sort of satisfactory rate. With the way things are going now, I won't be playing until my 10 day membership is expired.

I had my Takatoku and WHAM SDF-1s out for my review of the Macross Quarter and while the old SDF-1 is cool it's not cool enough to warrant a re-release IMHO (and I understand the tooling for it was ruined long ago). Having the WHAM next to the old classic kind of gives you a good indication of just how cool a modern SDF-1 interpretation could be. It's too bad Yamato got so carried away.

Sadly, I will not be able to attend.

I definitely think Macross or Robotech is fine for a 5 year old to watch. Primarily because all of the adult content they're not really going to follow and they don't need to at that age. Robotech is perfect for a kid that age since they won't delve past a superficial level and see all the big story problems that were created when the series were mended together. I'm sure the kids will find there way to media with far worse depictions of violence. Hopefully the 5 year old would like it and want to watch it again when they were like 8 or 10 and there you go, a new addict for the club

My fiance refuses to watch Macross. It was made a couple years before she was born so I can imagine that it looks like a terrible old cartoon to her. MacZero was no problem, even MacPlus she can stomach a bit, but if I throw on the original she's out. I know how she feels too. I've watched original episodes of Voltron, Transformers, and Thundercats and I cringed. So I would support a reboot because I do think it'd bring a lot of new fans. I hope they wait another ten years though so I can get my kids into it (that's the timeframe I'm guessing would be necessary).

Sorry Darrin, I totally disagree with you on most these items. While I would LOVE to have a full high quality Gosu, I think the design really lends itself to something like the Vinyl treatment. There would be no opening missile bay or cockpit but it'd be like a $20 toy which is a lot easier for the toy industry to stomach.

WANT. I still haven't removed my Q-REA or VF-25F from their packages yet but I like the idea of this line.

Like the V2 toy... I wish the head were in the right place

It's a huge hunk of painted vinyl from what we can see with VERY minimal articulation (the battlepod).

Am I late to this party? How do I go about ordering replacement shoulders for my toys? I definitely need two VF-1S shoulders because both are broken on my first edition toy and both the replacements were broken in the bag they were sent in. Are we allowed to order for all of the toys we think might have the thick pin?

I just watched District 9 and was totally let down. That thing had plot holes you could drive a bus through. I spent the whole movie wondering about the alien perdicament. How did the aliens wind up at Earth? If the aliens were all worker class then why is it that the one time we see a smart alien boss one around the worker alien completely disregards his orders? If the aliens are that inept how did they ever get so advanced? Why would an alien fuel make a man into an alien? If the alien fuel was made out of alien chemicals, and we know all the alien chemicals were aboard the alien craft originally, why didn't the aliens just make more fuel before they were brought down to the surface? What was the major malfunction in the first place? If the mother ship could be moved remotely from the ground, why'd the smart alien ever plan on flying to it in the first place? Did he not notice the missile battery? How could anyone have smuggled an entire space craft into a district where all the aliens were being housed especially when there was video of the space craft ditching the mother ship? It was a fun flick and all but where Avatar loses points for being so utterly predictable I'd say D9 loses points for not even trying to fill in a lot of the elements essential to its plot.
