I like the interior but the exterior is a bit busy for my tastes (and the tail is a tad generic). I'll bet I'd like it a lot more in person.

My macroeconomic theory is a bit rusty but I think the idea is that the banks aren't selling Yen to foreign governments right now, they're instead distributing it to Japanese businesses in an effort to give the economy a life line. They made the Yen very cheap domestically which reduces the supply and strengthens it. That should be a short-term situation though... if the money is spent it will go back into the banks which will bring supply back around. Then if the economy is slow foreign investors won't sink as much money into the Yen and you'll start to see the Yen weaken. Of course, Japan thrives off exports so a weaker Yen then helps the economy a lot, the economy heats back up, governments invest in the Yen, the Yen strengthens, exports cool... and on and on.

I don't think it should be considered a bad thing if people want to leave Japan temporarily or cancel trips there. When any place has its infrastructure jolted it shouldn't be considered a bad thing to relieve the infrastructure's need of one more person. Obviously you hope the people come back and the tourism resumes once the infrastructure is healed. It might be a bad time for a sales pitch but Japan is an absolutely amazing place to visit. Once they're back on their feet I highly recommend people try to get out there. Maybe you can help stimulate the economy with some of your tourism dollars as well as treat yourself to a traveler friendly country that has so much to offer.

I have my doubts as to seeing more VF-0 re-releases... if you're a big fan of the design that's a hard price to pass on.

I was told that it came with the super parts and there'd be no need to worry about Tamashii exclusive extras... I hope that hasn't changed.

RT.com is a lost cause with fewer and fewer visitors every month. McKeever banned me from the site when I reported that Tommy said at Comic-Con that Shadow Rising would be released after WB got the Robotech name out there more. Tommy Yune was perfectly reasonable about the whole thing at Comic-Con with a "Look, we could do it now with limited resources or we could wait for WB to really put Robotech out there which would allow us to put out a better product with more support." Unfortunately, while that might be a reasonable thing to discuss at convention stops it's absolutely not something HG allows on their website. So, if you want to post on Robotech.com any more you should probably just leave Kevin alone, he is apt to just decide you're opinions are valid but not something he wants others to hear and delete your account. I guess the real question is, why would you need to post on Robotech.com? It's not like the site provides a wealth of information on anything. -

I think "unavoidable" is too strong a word. Like so many other things, it's a compromise. The upper plate could have come down at more of an angle or some trick could have been used to reduce it at some greater expense. I've ordered one so you're right, not a deal breaker.

If it's just a painted statue they should start including figures with the release of other toys. Each new Phalanx toy will come with a Britai Sofubi. Each Gladiator (or is it Spartan?) will come with Exedol. Each new Glaug will come with a Kamjin. Each new Regult will come with a Boldoza. I guess the problem with that plan is that none of those things seem likely to ever be made

I don't know that a mold ever got made. I think it was just resin prototyping and Beagle pulled the plug rather than spending the money on the molds being fabricated.

I meant no disrespect with the question... I was just a bit surprised by labeling that color "pink." My wife loves the color pink (fortunately she exhibits this in tame ways) and so the word "pink" never entered my mind when I saw these... I think she would scrunch her nose at these colors as being much too dark for her. Anyway, this has obviously been an irreverent and irrelevant tangent.

Is "pink" a euphemism that I don't know about? I try to avoid Max valks because I hate purple...

I'm thinking you may not be a native English speaker as none of the valks you've referenced would be called "pink." The YF-29 looks to be red to dark red.

I, for one, like the noises. Priuses and other electric cars are like sharks... I'm always worried I'm going to cross the street while walking my dogs and step into an electric car that has quietly sneaked around a corner.

No, it's speculation and hope. Some Bandai staff said they'd like to take another crack at making a VF-25 toy (in the hype for the YF-29) but no one has said they actually are going to do that. The speculation is running more rampant because the YF-29 toy seems to be very similar to the VF-25 while having a number of improvements.

It was probably mentioned earlier but I hear the same team that did the VF-27 is doing the YF-29.

Since Bandai is saying this represents an improvement on the VF-27 I'd say you're in pretty good shape.
