  1. It won't come with super parts... they will be sold separately for $50. That's my guess. Maybe a bundle for the VF-19 super parts with VF-17 super parts like they did with the YF-21 and YF-19.
  2. I suspect this toy is coming out the day I go on vacation... bummer.
  3. I'd buy it only for the sake of my website... that thing is hideous... absolutely hideous.
  4. Ha, I like the comment about landing gears not being needed for a space fighter... but that it should look slim... as if aerodynamics would be important for a space fighter
  5. New crotch mechanism and a support for GERWALK? It seems like it answers the two biggest complaints about the DX line so far.
  6. you have total control over how far out you pull the ankles, there are several potential lengths. If you're not going for a crazy pose you can have the ankles recessed so they don't look spindly. For gerwalk and more dynamic poses you'd go bigger. I think I had the feet on mine recessed for the line art comparison.
  7. Why was everyone hanging out in the black lion? Shouldn't they all be piloting the other lions? I have no recollection of the original show but that seemed odd. EDIT - okay, I think I get it, there are pilots in the other Lions but there are like four pilots in the black lion. Seems odd but sure.
  8. I'm in the same boat. I made some comments before about a V2 1/48 VF-1... after handling this toy I'd be even more eager to see that.
  9. For the record, I followed the book very carefully also! You guys just have the benefit of the book plus me, Renato, and now Yamato saying "Watch out, this joint is fragile." I think it's a safe bet the Blazer valk's instructions will add a word of warning (I doubt they'll change anything since it seems a simple word of warning is probably enough). EDIT - we'll see how well it holds but the part is VERY easy to access via one screw and so a repair was easy to implement.
  10. My full review is up on anymoon.com. Unfortunately it's late so I didn't have time to proof read it. I'll read it tomorrow after work and clear up grammatical issues. In the mean time go to anymoon.com and check it out!
  11. Bandai's VF-27 also owns and the YF-29 doesn't look bad so I'd be on board for a VF-171
  12. Based on videos on the internet you can't imagine it could be broken? Um... It's a 1mm plastic tab. Hopefully now that others have seen it though most will avoid the issue. I'm hoping to figure out a way to fix it tonight. It looks like a bead of glue would make it as good as new provided there's a way to unscrew everything.
  13. Put a few more pics up on anymoon.com. Here's the break in close-up: If you do like Graham says, one click at a time, slowly, and you're cognizant of which click is the last you should be fine. It's only when you're not looking and trying to pose GERWALK or on the first cycle through when things are ultra tight that it should be a real problem.
  14. I don't know about solid as an 80s toy... it broke on the first transformation. It's ALMOST as solid as an 80s toy but there's obviously one weak point. Then again, maybe most 80s toys had at least one weak point also. On the glossiness of the plastic - I love it but I have always wished Yamato used glossy plastic and let matte finishes to the modelers. On the Kai since the plastic is red there really isn't an issue with finger prints being extremely visible.
  15. I'd say the heaviness is perfect. The metal is in good places... where it can't do any harm by weighing on joints.
  16. Yep, exactly the same tab broke on mine... I'm guessing the japanese instructions say "Be careful not to go too far!" but that didn't help me. It sucks because you really want to get it fully extended to get a good GERWALK pose so I can see lots of people breaking that tab not just in the first transformation when things are super stiff but later when they're trying to pose the toy in GERWALK. Having the tab broken actually makes GERWALK more fun to pose... but that doesn't make me feel much better about it. On a 1 to 10 scale? If I hadn't broken mine I'd probably give it a 9 or 9.5. Fighter mode has a couple parts that can move freely during handling which is a pet peeve of mine. I couldn't give it a 10 because of the lack of truly perfect transformation. Since it costs just south of a billion bucks and it broke on its first transformation I might be more apt to give it an 8.5. Still a great toy and if people learn from the mistakes of us early converts a lot of people are really going to love this thing.
  17. Yep, I think the lack of Robotech on Robot Chicken is two fold - obscurity of the reference and crappiness of the merchandise. When people hear about my website they more often say "what's a Robotech" than "OMG I totally remember that show!"
  18. Got the first hunk of my review up... broke mine already but I think it's a good toy none-the-less.
  19. I actually got a version of that malware on my work computer just before a big deadline. I think it was XP Security 2011. SUCKED. I picked up from going to msnbc.com. I probably clicked on a story that led to a different site where the malware had managed to get hosted. I didn't choose to run anything. I was pissed. So anyway, my IT guys decide to image my computer instead of removing the virus to some image from YEARS ago. What a pain.
  20. I'm afraid it just means "I don't really know." If I ever get an upgraded Maia I'll be happy to let you guys know my impressions. From what I've heard from surfin' the web it seems like most people think it's better than most MPCs but that's not exactly the highest praise. On that note, of all the Legioss toys I have ever reviewed, the best scoring one just got an updated review on my website.
  21. Sofubi Zentraedi character + remaining destroid giftset FTW!
  22. Well I just ponied up and sent my money... seeing that charge on the credit card statement will definitely help reduce my enthusiasm... let's hope this toy kicks major tail. Of course, I'll be sharing my opinions with you all -
  23. If HLJ carries it, I'll probably buy it.
