Agreed, Toynami doesn't have the skills or the ability to play in the premium market and they've now discovered the hard way that the premium market is the only market left on 25-30 year old niche market anime. The Beagle toy might have done a little better teaming up with anyone else but the Beagle toy was doomed by REQUIRING another company be involved in the first place. Beagle had the very unfortunate circumstance of being two years late to a party that was fantastic at one point but they showed up just as it was ending with a thud.

Hmm, one of these pics look familiar?

I have not heard of a YF-25 release.

Kinda surprised we're not all talking about the next DX toy. Is there a Bandai event coming up soon? From what I understand, the next toy is dropping in the not too distant future.

Hmm... pics of the 30th anniversary paint scheme Yamato are oddly missing here. Edit: Knock knock Who's there? I'm blue and black with white stripes on my wings.

I was told "probably most expensive valkyrie yet, but not supposed to be too much more expensive than the latest offerings. Price isn't fixed but under 30,000 Yen, goal is probably 25,000." Of course, that's before we pay for someone to get this for us and then ship it to us .

Did Maiden get frustrated and leave or was Maiden let go because Toynami was throwing in the towel on Macross/Robotech. I thought it was the latter. Toynami didn't quit the Robotech or Macross licenses because they didn't think the toys were cool enough, they quit the licenses because they weren't making enough money from them. Robotech is dead and Macross is hot on its heels (in the US). Long live Yu-gi-oh or whatever the money makers are.

Did they ever make a VF-11S head? This project has me curious what that would look like.

1/6 scale so it could fit the toynami pilots

I think almost all of this could be done in 1/48 or 1/35 these days. 1/24 or 1/18 is too big.

The timing on selling the MPC version isn't really ideal. I just bought one from RT.com last month for $199. If I were you I'd hold onto it until next fall and just put it on ebay and take the ride. These toys were selling for $400 for a bit there and there shouldn't be any more surprise restocks anywhere.

Bandai DX Chogokin YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie

It's not that it wasn't available, it's more likely that it's not available yet. This is why so many online sites jump the gun and put up preorders before all the info is out... to grab the earliest converts. -
Only half the intake is for air, the other half is for a maneuvering thruster. I aasume the chest intake feeds both the arm and leg engines.

It's amazing what just fixing the paint job does for the old Gakkens.

I think that"s the version with improved parts but the improved parts were in a second box sold with a reissue of the eta. Those are all the promo pics from when the improved parts version originally came out. EDIT - that is to say: those promo pics show the improved parts installed and the gun, but you get those in a box and you have to install them onto the toy. The Eta toy itself is an exact reissue of the first release, upgrade parts are in their own separate box.

Seriously... toys need to have heads that rotate... I can't understand how CM's thought having the head locked straight was okay...

Yeah... no thanks on nontransformable anything, let alone 1/18 scale.

That is the VF-1 toy's replacement hand, not an Alpha replacement hand. You can tell because that hand has the slider mechanism. Broken hands on the alpha are pretty much a lost cause. The best you can do is glue them into a fist OR replace them with the fixed-pose hands from a Toynami Alpha Super Poseable (but that would take some modding).
