Lol, that display is so lonely... Like mom just dropped it off for the first day of school.

You might be looking at certain elements of the head but generally speaking (and it's all hand drawn so there are plenty of exceptions), the head was bigger than most toy interpretations. I'm not knocking toys for doing this. Most hand-drawn battroids would make zero sense as fighters so the toy companies have to make compromises. I imagine the head is going to look funny in fighter mode... but it doesn't look funny to me in battroid. Maybe we'll see more pics soon.

I think people might just be used to the undersized heads we've been getting on toys for a while.

The 0S looks like melted ice cream?

I think that's in the 3 to 5% bucket. My recent dx toys haven't had those issues, just that same guns and wings tabs not aligning.

This thing might have some impressive joints.

It's semantics but I don't think "QC issues" is the right term. QC issues make me think of things being broken or faulty and that's your usually 3-5% of anything manufactured. I think 100% of the AX toys (up until the reissue, the jury is still out there) had bad tolerances that are exascerbated by build quality issues, so some are worse, but even the best one is 'off' because Bandai didn't have the pegs and slots in the perfect locations.

Wow, this is one of the quietest "PO Madness" nights I've seen in a while. Guess these WWM releases make everyone feel pretty comfortable waiting things out. That's great to see! Also, camping and refreshing the HLJ "new preorders" is NOT the thing to do. I saw "sold out" here before it ever appeared on that page. So, I just scooped it up at anime-export.

I haven't seen the new Indy, will some day, but with the Disney bashing... it's amazing to me how much of it has been awful writing. You would think with the investments that get made in actors, visual effects, etc. they would invest in good, coherent, stories. They are definitely spending money on writing, they keep claiming to have talented people work on these things, but the results should be killing these people's careers. I imagine Disney has ten different people who get to pee on a script and call it their's before it's finalized and the result is something that ought to be flushed.

Man I had to go double-check if I had written that... you shouldn't insert words into quotes like that! And no, this was much before Yamato's final days when they were pumping out VF-1 toys every month or every other month. That ultimately led to people waiting for valks to go on sale which didn't work out very well for them.. but it was a while later before they had to shutter. I bought the black & blue VF-1, the VF-1S special color, and a VF-1J Cannon fodder and snail shipping for the group was $65.

You probably just figured out what next month's special edition will be. Stealth black & gray! They are really pumping these out! Interesting to see they did another Rick 1J with the leg pegs moved to what I presume are the "final" position and that they have fixed the paint on those leg fins. They are really keeping that factory working! This is a lot like the Yamato VF-1 days. SATURATION PENETRATION!

Licenses come in different flavors depending on how much you're willing to spend. Exclusive deals are more expensive. You would think that the licensor would discourage companies from doing the exact same thing though. Maybe they define their target markets or price points differently or maybe HG doesn't care.

That's not a gun.... THIS is a gun!

That's perfect

It's always cheaper (cost/unit) to keep a production line going and produce more than to stop. The downside is you flood the market and your products get put on sale. That's why most manufacturers of niche toys prefer the scarcity route to keep prices high. KC is attempting to have both by doing lots of different paint schemes but we've already seen a couple flash sales.

The bad fit of the arms was universal, something was definitely off in the molds and probably exacerbated by the assembly.

I'd be curious to see if bent head lasers is a thing now... I suspect the user or the person at the factory who threw it in the tray just had it snag on a hand at some point since, as others have pointed out, not a lot of good places to handle this thing. If we see a rash of them though, we'll know it's manufacturing related.

This is the only post about the reissue I've seen. It offers only limited hope.

So far one report said it was only better on one side... So maybe not.

Lol, seems pretty easily resolved.
