  1. Release is 2014 so you have time to save.
  2. Yes, of course i am. Do they look similar to you? The only thing that bares any similarity are the fast packs.
  3. I don't understand how Kawamori would even put together that there's a relationship between the skystriker and his Valkyrie.
  4. You don't call the press and say "Hey, run a piece on my private company going bankrupt" since you're no longer selling anything and there's no reason for publicity. From what I understand, Arcadia had to acquire Yamato's licenses, they were not transferred over as part of a merger and that's why we've had such a big gap in the VF-1 toys being reissued. It's possible Yamato didn't go bankrupt. It might have been a case where a couple primary investors in the company had a big falling out and decided to liquidate so they could go their separate ways. One of those investors then creates a new company (Arcadia) and purchases the parts of Yamato he liked. Given all the downsizing in the toy industry and previous bankruptcies it seems like the most likely scenario is bankruptcy. As to Yamato USA, it's a separate company, it's my understanding they're only a distribution company. They didn't have much in the way of assets and are probably a perfectly viable company so why shut them down because a related company in a different country went bankrupt? Well, you'd have to shut them down if all they did was distribute Yamato of Japan toys because there'd be nothing left to distribute... but otherwise they could go their own way with their own creditors.
  5. I would bet good money on the hips being exactly as they've always been.
  6. If they merged with another company there would have been news items and press. Presumably the company they would have merged with would have been an existing company, not one quickly founded by a major investor/owner of Yamato. If they changed their name there would be news items and press (and it would have been stupid since the name Yamato had no ill-will associated with it). So, outside of any other evidence, it seems very likely Yamato went belly-up and Arcadia purchased some of Yamato's molds.
  7. I think this won't be worth Hasbro's attention and that's what HG is banking on. It's a comic-con exclusive tiny run thing done with no expectation of huge profits. If HG wants to make it some legendary hard to get toy that will make it more talked about it doesn't really hurt Hasbro. They'll probably just say "Fine, we won't sell any more, but we're not giving you a penny unless you want to spend years in court." HG will say "Yay, we won!" Then everyone will think HG is run by idiots and Hasbro will enjoy the publicity of people talking about their cross-over toys and how bad they want Jetfire...
  8. I like the idea... Regult colors on a Rau.
  9. I could see that at next year's Comic-con. "Progress continues on RT:LAM, Leo DiCaprio has stated he's interested in it."
  10. I know lots of symbols are used throughout the East and I confirmed with a Japanese friend that the symbols mean "Masterpiece". I didn't confirm what language they were in. I think Hasbro wants to just better differentiate their real expensive toys from their more standard releases.
  11. I think the next WF is in a couple days.
  12. I think you posted to the wrong thread... this is about Isamu in the YF-29 from a video game.
  13. We might hear something at Wonderfest. I'm told though that shifting exchange rates made a potential new Mospeada product less likely to happen.
  14. I went to TRU looking for Soundwaves again today... still no luck. I had my MP-10 shipped to me from TRU and it was also poorly packaged... fortunately the box was fine.
  15. Totally agree, awesome watch, very steampunk.
  16. I don't see HG having much of a prayer in this as all Hasbro did was mimic the paint scheme of an older toy, a paint scheme that was never even used in Robotech (although similar ones were).
  17. Harmony Gold is a private company, it's possible Tatsunoko has an investment in them. If that's the case, licensing the rights to the related party essentially allows Tatsunoko the greatest possible returns on the license. Alternatively, it could just be a case of HG being the only one that is interested. EDIT - This conversation should not be happening in the Transformers thread.
  18. Masterpiece soundwave is in TRUs in southern CA now. I know because I walked into one and tried to buy one and was told some CHP office had just purchased all of the stock at the store I was at. That's twice now I've missed it by minutes. Sounds like they're not out yet in Northern CA.
  19. It was treatment that got them... I'm still hunting. Bogo: buy one get one (free, or at some discount depending on the sale)
  20. I noticed the TRU website was updated to show that Soundwave is not available in stores. Is this because some went out and then sold out or is this because none have been shipped to stores yet?
  21. Maybe they're going to release all the variants now, starting with Roy just like they originally did, but now with bonus parts and waterslide decals but no super parts. Then they'll sell the super parts as a web exclusive item for a grip.
  22. LOL... telling me to get one and me going to buy one only to find it sold out doesn't make your advice very helpful! Oh well, next year I should be able to make more than one day of Comic-con so hopefully if there are any exclusives I have a better shot at them. I'm sure I'll manage to pick up a Soundwave elsewhere. All things considered, it was still a pretty successful day at the con.
  23. Phew... easy pass. I have the anniversary version with strike parts. There's not enough here to get me to double dip.
