    Networking... I should go hunting down TRU employees on LinkedIn! They've been in the bay area but they sold out everywhere same day. More are en route though. I'm hoping each store gets more than 2 or 4 this time. A lot of MP10s on ebay for $150 shipped right now... since some were saying it was hard to come by earlier.

    Which store did you grab it at? Were you there right when it opened? I'm trying to get a game plan on hunting the local stores.

    Well it's starting to show up for $180 shipped on eBay so people are definitely getting them. With today's long window and more being in actual stores over the last few days, I suspect we'll see it at $150 shipped. At that point I might just go the eBay route if I haven't grabbed one at a store.

    While that's an interesting read, the studios are relatively assured they'll be getting their money. It doesn't really have any bearing on the success of Pacific Rim either as the revenues will still be counted toward the take regardless of how long it takes Warner to get those revenues.

    Mp10 may be hard to get now but if you wanted him around release it wasn't to bad, I bought one on a whim from tru.com at msrp. A year from now Soundwave may be tough.

    I don't think the VF-22S toys will ever be too hard to track down so I'd start with the SV-51. You can get the 22S after your wallet recovers.

    I'm pretty sure they were at Comic-con... but I'm not into statuettes so I didn't bother looking. I would think they still distribute products made in Japan so there's nothing to make me doubt they would be there displaying new items they'll distribute.

    Embarrassing anecdote: I am sitting down to watch Pacific Rim and there's like 20 minutes of BS since I got there earlier than I needed to. Finally it's time to put on my 3D glasses and this is the first preview. There is a nut that explodes off of some device when the stuff starts hitting the fan and I jerked my head to avoid being hit by that nut. My wife was still giggling about it when we left the theater. I like 3D in film, as much as its a gimmick, but I'm always afraid it will be abused. That's sort of the good thing about films that aren't originally intended to be 3D and then are converted. The 3D isn't used in excess. I just watched Oz the Great and Powerful and I felt like it was way over-used there to the point of it being a distraction.

    They should roll out a reissue every month or every other month. That would be tits. One exception, there should be no reissues the couple months before the 19 drops so we can brace our wallets for impact.

    Funny, this was the first preview to Pacific Rim when I went and saw that film. Seems they ARE going for the Pacific Rim crowd.

    To be fair... SDF Macross had the VF-1 in different paint schemes with different heads. While Mac Frontier does have some similar mechs, they are different and we were given an in-universe explanation as to why they're similar (being based on the same prototype). The 171 is also a totally different beast, especially in battroid mode. All that said, it took me a long time to warm up to the Frontier mechs. The battroid modes looked a little too much like an angry insect to me... kinda like a praying mantis or something. I still prefer a bit blockier battroid mode.
