  1. I don't think I've ever seen a 1D with cracked shoulders, I think you're thinking of the VT1.
  2. Yeah, looking at it now in person I see what you mean. I wonder if it's possible to just modify a mold. The changes are really minor and everything looks perfectly identical otherwise.
  3. I did notice this when transforming back from battroid to GERWALK mode. If I notice it more while making the movies I'll point it out in the text and video reviews later. Good eye but I'm pretty sure they just put in a screw cover, not a mold change or anything. It might actually prove bothersome to customizers as I'd guess the screw covers are glued in.
  4. If you guys want to send me pics I'd be happy to include them. You can post them here with a note that you wouldn't mind me using them.
  5. Review is up on anymoon.com... I tried to be thorough... let me know if you think I missed something. Unfortunately I have to dart across the country for a week and the videos aren't ready to roll so I'll address that when I come back. There will be three videos: 1) Transformation guide (I think I'm going to do this with the super parts attached) 2) Original Release to Renewal Version video like I did for the VF-25 3) Review video I also ran out of time so there aren't any size comparisons other than to the original toy. When I get home I'll be pulling out my RVF and Arcadia VF-1 for reviews so I'll have size comparisons with those.
  6. Was just scanning through this thread and saw that. I usually specify that my durability scores are preliminary based on immediate feedback and while I do regularly update old posts it's more of an 'as luck has it I had this old toy out' sort of thing. That said, I went ahead and updated my post tonight. Now to get back to my VF-27 post.
  7. I really like the Inbit and similar alien concepts. My big let down with Frontier is the enemies are just bugs (and Galaxy but they're acting in the background). I like my enemies to have personalities and stories around maybe some redeeming qualities that makes me like them (if not root for them).
  8. I think Robotkingdom has shipped me my Asia release MP-10. Unfortunately I'll be out of town when it arrives
  9. Awesome, since I can't imagine I'll ever be in a mad rush to get my toys right away (I have a 1 year old, it's often weeks before I get to handle my toys any way) I'm going to try to get in on all future HLJ preorders and utilize that private warehouse function.
  10. Not a bad price. I think Lunar kind of botched their MP-10 preorder with that whole "I don't know the price.. please put down a deposit and expect it to be $300 or more" way of doing things. I've seen too many online stores not last very long already to start trusting that sort of action. Plus, it seems like a way for him to watch the market to determine a price rather than setting the price based on his normal margins. "Oooh, this toy will be popular, I can probably charge more but I don't know how much more." I'm not saying that was his thinking, he probably did have a hard time getting it ironed out, but it doesn't come across well. I used regular airmail with RobotKingdom and got it for $280 shipped. I was thinking about getting Prowl from them too but I'm not in a rush to get Prowl and I'm bummed I can't preorder all the fairladies and not have them delivered with BlueStreak (he's last right?) to save on shipping.
  11. I think any Japanese company would find it a far better option to do something new rather than to stick a Robotech label on a story. It's not like Robotech has name recognition in Japan and the people that do know it are probably the ones involved in the acrimonious lawsuits. A better option for Tatsunoko would be to find some fresh new story with some great mech designs and then sell the international rights to HG who could then label it Robotech. Unfortunately, it appears that the Japanese market has 'evolved' and isn't looking for space operas any more, its' looking for things that draw in a younger audience (yes there are exceptions). I also doubt that HG could afford to purchase rights these days or has the stomach/nerve to add to the Robotech universe outside of stories that directly relate to their marketable characters because lets face it, the Robotech name is also meaningless beyond a very specific set of people these days and most of that set just want the story to continue... not leap to some new story that might be happening within the same universe.
  12. It appears TigerTrack MP-12T knock-offs are now readily available (I guess that's no big surprise). It's kind of hard to imagine TT is going to issue another paint in that mold with the knock-offs being so prevalent now.
  13. Yeah, I couldn't guess at how, but it appears that head was subjected to a lot of pressure that caused a split and some warping.
  14. I think the old narrator passed on some time ago... can't say for sure.
  15. I would think that the Rand MPC still goes for less than $200 on the secondary market. Seems like only a few months ago you could get it for $99.
  16. You can start processing your order at Robotkingdom and it will give you a shipping cost. Grimlock & Jetfire comes to $402 shipped. I forget what MP10 was.
  17. Will have both, I also hope this means more cassettes are on their way. I wonder if we'll be able to buy a knock off for $35.... :/
  18. Yeah... but GBS and AIDS aren't mutually exclusive. He also never came back after his HIV diagnosis and his claims post career were all a bit... suspect. His mom says AIDS and we're led to believe she had a relationship with him so I would probably hold back from saying he was PROVEN to be HIV negative. It's a tragedy either way, especially having his career shot down when/how it was, so no real point in belaboring the point beyond that.
  19. Was 9B the last of the mold they sold (so it has all the V2 fixes)?
  20. Uh.. did he prove his HIV tests were false positives? I read an article that quoted his mom as saying he was dying of AIDS and most the time you hear at some point that he started claiming they were false positives but... he's dead at 44... so there's that.
  21. I got mine today but I'm going to hold off messing with it until I've put the new DX VF-27 through its paces.
  22. I think I preordered mp10 from robotkingdom.
  23. The V1 gun is different than the V2 beyond the tabs on the handle. There's also a locking mechanism in the V2 gun (where you pull the handle out), the V2 gun is a new mold with deeper detail in the vents, and there's the slight color difference. All that said, the V1 gun would definitely work in the hand of a V2 valk.
  24. Yep, I think if you just reduced the front strands and had them stop just past the shoulders like in that line art it would help. It might also give you some mobility for moving the head in the other directions (not sure if your current hair is limiting this).
