  1. Correct, just the two GBP + Valk bundles, I believe there were two releases of just the GBP, and one release of GBP + Missiles. Here's what the inside of the GBP + Missiles set looked like:
  2. If there is a difference, it's not very noticeable. I think it's more an optical illusion caused by the different trim. This is one picture not a photoshop collage (although I did use Photoshop to remove the display stands).
  3. It's similar enough to the VF-1 where you shouldn't have an issue.
  4. The TakaraTomy Sunstorm figure has an orange to yellow gradient so it should be do-able.
  5. I'm pretty sure they were trying to get all the brown to be a more metallic bronze since it does have a bit of a metallic look to it... clearly they didn't succeed. This thing does McDonalds way more than Basara's VF-19.
  6. New review up on anymoon (well, updated review to include the newest release):
  7. Yamato released two bundled sets. One has the number 1 painted on the chest and the second doesn't have the number 1 painted on the chest. If you have the 1 painted on the chest the shoulders aren't safe and if you look REALLY closely you might notice that the white on the head is a different white from the rest of the plane (because Yamato took old VF-1J toys and put a new gray visor head on them). If the chest has no #1 then you're in good shape.
  8. No Voltron reviews coming from me... likely ever. I had the big metal one as a kid, and I enjoyed it, but it was third fiddle to Robotech and Transformers.
  9. I actually feel bad for Yune & co. Had those guys been hired somewhere else back when they were hired for HG they could have worked with other people, learned their crafts better, been promoted, and almost certainly make a whole lot more money than they're making now. Even then, if their dream job was to work on Robotech I doubt their dream job was to drive the franchise into the ground so hard that most fans would agree that Robotech as a franchise would have been better off had it just been not tended at all in that decade.
  10. So where is the confusion about 'what i'm on about'? I said 'please don't make a bootleg'. That's not a hard position to stand by. I also said 'doing your own is cool, especially if you think you can do it better."
  11. I feel like you guys read one word of my post and got upset instead of reading the post.
  12. Please don't bootleg someone else's work. I mean, doing your own is cool, especially if you think you can do it better... But hopefully we're not talking about something that is largely the same. I know the guy worked hard on these.
  13. The one wild card with HG is that it's a private company with an owner that is past retirement age. Who knows what will happen when he rides off into the sunset.
  14. I just imagine the schtick would get so old so quick. I thought it was getting old at the end of this clip.
  15. I sincerely doubt HG made much money from WB. They stood to make a hefty profit if the project was completed but since it wasn't they probably made next to nothing. Also, look at Transformers, do you really think WB was going to base a live action movie very closely after the cartoon? I sincerely doubt it. It was going to be completely reinvented from the start so I really doubt they were too concerned with the rights issues around characters and mechanical designs.
  16. Comic-con is awesome but there are intense crowds and a fair amount of waiting in line. I picked up an MP Sunstorm and Prowl (the Sunstorm review will probably go up tomorrow). The Sentinel toys look fantastic. I always take time to oogle at the Bandai Gundam display cases. Toynami had the Acid Rain toys at their booth which look really cool. Someone should make an anime and incorporate them. They also had their crazy expensive Voltron toys which was cool because I'd never seen them in person as well as the Tippet Ed-209 and Robocop 2 bad guy (Cain?). The Hot Wheels Darth Vader car (1:1 scale) was awesome. I had lots of fun drinking with friends around the convention also during off hours. Kevin Smith was entertaining as always although I don't know that I'm going to watch Tusk. Daniel Radcliff having to answer questions from people dressed as Harry Potter was pretty awesome. The new Gotham show seemed like it tried a little too hard to fit almost every Batman character I ever heard of into it. IZombie seems like it will be a good show for fans of Buffy. I do like that it's now acceptable to wear a yellow bikini with a tail attached to it and put some ears in your hair to cosplay as Pikachu. I also liked the shirt that said "pikachupacabra". "Let's Be Cops" will probably be a good stupid comedy. Maze Runner looked a little too dark for the teen set that should be its target demographic (no real romance element to draw in the ladies). I also now have a Star Wars light saber made via Origami. I think that's pretty much it in a nutshell.
  17. So like the end of next year at the earliest art this rate.
  18. It's true, whenever I propose plot lines to reboot Robotech, it's essentially a different show. If they were going to create something new they might as well just make something entirely new and advertise the hell out of it on Robotech.com and on future DVD releases. They could throw in some fun references for Robotech fans (like the valkyrie crates in Orguss).
  19. It seems like a good temporary fix might just be some card stock.
  20. I hate the drone veritech not because it's a rip-off but because it looks like the drones of yesteryear. In the Macross universe they developed the Ghost. In the Robotech universe they just took old vehicles and made them transform "because they could" apparently. That said, in Macross they did apply that mentality to their capital ships... but I've never been all that keen on that concept either. Besides, Robotech already has the drones they should be using from the New Gen episode "the secret route" where we learn that Yellow's exgirlfriend is dating the devil.
  21. Check rt.com, they put up news items for all their DVD releases.
  22. I stored my valks in a garage (in big plastic totes) in a coastal city (temps usually between 40 and 80) and didn't see any problems from this. I did store as many as possible in the house proper though and I keep desiccants in all my totes.
