Yeah, they should have skipped Sunstorm and released all three of the Fairlady Z toys at the same time at no more than $49.99 a pop. That's my 2 cents at least.- 17082 replies

As far as determining how big of an audience is out there to buy Robotech merchandise, there were only a little less than 2300 backers for Robotech Academy and most of those people were investing far less than the cost of a quality toy. Paladiums efforts might be more similar with 5300 backers. You can play around with the numbers a lot from there but you can see, it's never going to be a huge audience barring Robotech finding some way of getting relevant again. It might have been my website you were referring to in regard to the toy reviews. The Toynami MPC Alpha is based on the Imai 1/48 Legioss model. I'm not a big fan of RT:TM or SDCSC but I do think there's a lot of potential there if RT ever does get a reboot. I like to doodle reinvented 2nd gen mecha for Robotech when I have time taking inspiration from what was there but also keeping in mind what is in Macross and what we eventually get in the Mospeada arch.

I'm probably going to be there on Saturday. I might shoot for an Aramaki signature in my Mospeada book. -

The act of pushing them open also generally causes the sliding mechanism to extend. It did require a bit of force though.

I'd been reading about this in the news but hadn't seen the video. I assumed it the tragic accident that was the fault of the driver who confronted a moving vehicle. Then I saw the video and man... that really looks bad for Stewart. Why the heck does he stomp the gas? I think it would be hard for him to be found guilty of a crime though unless he says something incriminating. Since the killed driver was somewhere there'd be no reasonable expectation of his being, and since he was not stationary, I imagine Stewart's claiming he didn't see him until the last moment and then he jammed the gas and turned to try to avoid him. The video makes it look like he jams the gas to mow him down but I don't see how you can prove it either way. Even if he escapes criminal justice I suspect he'll have a civil case heading his way.

I don't know if I've chimed in on this but my wife and I saw this this weekend and loved it. I think that haiku is spot on and that the perception that this movie can't possibly be that great helps make it better (I think most Marvel films benefit from this as far as I'm concerned). It's that whole "OH that movie is so awesome you gotta see it" almost guarantees you'll feel let down. You go into this movie thinking "I can't believe I'm going to see a movie that looks this ridiculous" and then it's good. Anywho, I'm very fond of this movie and hope we get sequels. I will add that Drax was definitely the low spot of the film for me. I don't want to blame the actor entirely, it sounds like he was given absolute crap to work with. His dialogue was going to be brutally hard for anyone to make work especially with the bit about being a literal species or something. Ugh. The green girl also had some dialog that was cringe worthy. It's that whole 'in the future, people speak as if they're more proper" mindset. Yuck. So those are my nits, otherwise, awesome.- 344 replies

Uh no, you can measure them to determine scale, I've done so a few times on my site. They're all "close enough". I seem to recall the vf17 is more like 1/55.

Mine is in SF customs (I feel like everything before ended up in LA customs). Hopefully it makes it through quickly.

Has there been an explanation? Sure, there have been LOTS of them. I remember them back from my days on RT.com. Most of them were reaches at best. Fortunately, when the Hovertanks were retrofitted for space use as some point in the series this was rectified. I'd like to see a modern interpretation of the space helicopter that removed the helicopter aspect entirely and instead made it a three mode transformation with space fighter, atmospheric fighter, and 'battroid' modes. Basically, make it into something like an X-wing with a battroid mode.

He says that it had to transform after the fold engine disappeared which is correct. It did fire a shot in cruiser before the fold engines disappeared, that is also correct. What does this have to do with the VF-0D?

I hope we have November preorders for a January release. It looks like they're really far along at this point so that doesn't seem like too crazy a timeline. I'd guess the more likely timeframe is a December preorder for a March release as that seems more toy industry standard.

I'm planning on selling off some excess MegaHouse ride armors this year. To prepare myself for no longer owning these toys I went ahead and shot a HD mega review. Check it out for a trip down memory lane (click on the link in my sig). Here's a pic in the meantime:

Well I'm guessing mine is on a plane right now so I should be shooting a video toward the end of next week. I like to play with it a little before busting out the camera so it may take a few days to put something good together.
