    I used my wife as a sample audience. She basically hates anime though she always wants to cosplay, it's weird. Any way, she gave DYRL a 'that wasn't bad' and the MacF a 'you owe me for making me sit through that'. I can understand the feeling that you're hopping into act 2 in DYRL though, but the bridge banter fills you in.

    DYRL made sense as a stand alone film. It felt like the first half hour had been edited out but it was easy to infer and not crucial. What were your hang ups? Edit - yes, it's the 171+.

    Well the next review I put up will show a toy that is falling apart after a couple reviews so that should make you feel pretty good about your decision not to transform them! I'm waiting on a buddy to ship me my 19 still (along with a bunch of other stuff). I was moving for a few months and since then he's been crazy busy so my stuff is stuck in Japan. That will definitely be the first review I do when that box arrives.

    As I recall, it didn't recycle as much as the Plus movie but yes, I'm sure some of the animation was lifted from the show to save a couple bucks (which were then spent on overly elaborate musical numbers).

    I think it should have been ONE two hour long movie and it should have begun with Frontier showing up to save Galaxy and taking on a bunch of Galaxy refugees (Galaxy could have been attacked while Sheryl was performing on Galaxy). Then Sheryl gives a concert as a thank you with Ranka as the opening act. Ranka struggles and Alto and Sheryl team up to help her out. Later you see that Galaxy saw they were losing their quest to control the Vajra but were very close so they set things up so Frontier would be there to rescue them and they would then do a coup of Frontier and continue their efforts. Leon and the president should have had their plot line dropped entirely. Once the coup begins everyone believes Sheryl was in on it and feels betrayed but Sheryl finds some way of helping SMS out to regain their trust. Luca should have been less of a whiz and the prison break scene goes away. Hijacked Frontier then tries to control the Vajra but SMS with help from UN Spacy saves the day. Michael dies. Brera dies (screw that guy). Alto can still disappear at the end.

    To be fair, knowing what's being said doesn't make these movies that much better. They're pretty but otherwise kinda awful.

    Yep, I have preordered. This is the first time I've done business with Lunar so I didn't reach out asking to do a review. I figure if I'm going to do a review of something early then I should definitely throw in an advertisement for whoever makes that possible and that's not something I'd want to do without having had some first hand experience first. I definitely will be doing a review though when I get mine in hand. Thanks for suggesting me though. Looks like we're in pretty capable hands with the folks who were selected.

    Yeah, there's a BAPE feeding frenzy right now. I think everyone expected it to be more readily available and since that hasn't panned out there's panic buying setting in.

    I'm shocked people are saying this is better or on par with Yarcadia. It's cool but the braces for both GERWALK and Battroid make this fall way short for me. Of course, I'm expecting both braces to become way more necessary as this thing loosens up or as we start adding extras. While I like the YF-30 design, A LOT, I also think Kawamori got lazy with the back kibble. The rear stabilizers should rotate up at the very least.

    There are also a bunch of loose Rodimus toys on eBay. Well, maybe 'bunch' a bit much but at least 4 different ones. All claim to be brand new but loose. Is this a sign that a reissue is about to launch?

    I have a hard time believing someone bought the BAPE at that price but the page is no longer loading. I want one but not that much.

    Well I guess the good news is that I can have him still stand on the knee leg in battroid and you can't tell it's broken and in fighter I think it pegs in so tight it also wouldn't be visible. Gerwalk mode is probably a lost cause though... we'll see. I could also try gluing things back together but it looks like that would be awfully hard to do without ruining the knee rotation.

    I should have listened closer, I just tried to reposition the toy in battroid mode and the leg split in two at the knee. I'm guessing I strained something during one of the transformations since there's that unnecessary twist/lock rotation mechanism.

    Ha, that feels like jumping in with ' I don't have a girlfriend' when people are joking about relationship problems.

    The vf1J 30th anniversary colors was a general release.

    I just started handling my 171 CF for the first time in a long time and I can see the hairline cracks on the black triangles and I also noticed that one of the legs spins pretty freely at the knee while the other knee has resistance. I'm guessing something has broken inside the knee but since the toy functions perfectly fine in all modes I'm not going to worry about it... yet.

    The blue looks good in that scan. I'm sure it's not gray enough for some but it's not so vibrant that I immediately think MAX!

    I was thinking about it today and I kind of felt like I supported 3P by buying and watching anything Robotech. Still, I'm going to keep my line in the sand where I'm only going to venture into "yeah, nobody else would make that' territory.

    That's what I said! They're revisiting what they did to us the first time the did Macross Zero. First we got a gray VF-0 they said was a mass production unit and that the OVA got it wrong and that Shin flew the same plane as everyone else. Then a little while later they gave us a Shin custom... This time it will be a Max colored blue VF-1D and they'll follow it up with a gray-blue version a year later. Hey, that would at least appease everyone (and probably no one).

    Noooooooo . I'm waiting for the vf25G tornado parts to hit the street before I try to get it shipped. My buddy in Japan has been very busy so I haven't pushed it.
