    I think most people are less concerned because it's bound to cost much less than the Arcadia. I'm more concerned about whether or not I'll be able to get one since it's bound to be another preorder madness event. Here's Bandai prices (MSRP) for those of you who want to guess where we'll end up: VF-25 14,000 VF-171 14,000 YF-29 17,000 YF-30 20,000 Arcadia YF-19 32,800 I'm gonna guess this one is 18,000 Yen.

    I thought the better solution would be to just put a groove in the leg that the wing could slide into.

    I haven't handled the Arcadia yet, does this basically mean get rid of high speed mode?

    I can't wait for fighter pics. I'm guessing the person who said this will look like the hi metal in fighter is probably right so we'll see how many people were truly offended by the hi metal in that mode.

    No matter what, market forces will prevail. Arcadia is basically an experiment right now. High end, limited quantity toys that appear to be attempts to really just appease the diehard Macross audience. I think the prices probably reflect the much lower production quantities but we'll all see how sustainable this approach is... especially if Bandai gets determined to squash them.

    I think some people might be getting a touch defensive to justify the cash outlay they did on their Arcadia toy. Don't worry, there are going to be lots of comparisons later... no need to get negative Nancy already.

    Well everyone can pose their Arcadia toy in fighter mode and their Bandai toy in Battroid mode. Best of both worlds achieved.

    Yeah, the uniboob doesn't have the big gap of the Arcadia/Yamato offerings so that means fighter mode probably doesn't have the front bulge around the cockpit. Honestly though, I think it took me longer to warm up to the gap right under the thing's chin then it will to a little bulbous-ness missing from fighter.

    The new show should be about an early megaroad that lost contact and has a vf1 fleet and is battling rogue Zentraedi so we can get more SDF Macross toys.

    I hinted at this in the 0D thread, I wouldn't view this as a hit on Arcadia, but maybe the baby of some licensing confusion. Glad they decided to do it.

    Yeah, I think my "valk" was reinterpreted by my phone to be "call". So yes, the 171 would seem to be a logical CF unit still but that sucks for moving toys so.... moving on. Here is a thought, we know nothing about this series except for when it takes place right? It's doubtful that Megaroad is the only ship that vanished without a trace. This series could be about another colony unit that has lost contact. If that were the case, the cannon fodder valkyrie could be something already used (or with a lower number designation) rather than something new. Also, do we know how readily fleets have their fighters replaced? I know in 7 we see the introduction of the 17, the 19, and the 22 to a fleet with 11s. Would the 11 have been replaced by the 171 or would the 11s have been gradually phased out as fighters lost (be they 11, 17, 19, or 22) were replaced with 171s, 25s, or 27s?

    That would be flipping Plus on its head where the AI was in love with the pilot. I really wonder what the new cannon fodder call will be.

    Sure you can... but you have to buy three of the three different sizes and then mix and match the rods. It's pretty epic once you do.

    No offense but 'an aging idol trying to cling to her glory days' sounds like a wretched show to watch. If we get a Mac7 cameo I hope it's Gamlin. Funny twist, Gamlin should be married to a different Jenius girl than Mylene.

    Cedar Pollen Syndrome? I just googled it and learned something new. Oh, also that Delta War thing sounds cool. I hope a future Macross series explores the events closer to the original series. Then again, I'm always happy for new Macross.

    What is Yamato vs. what is a brand new Arcadia design doesn't mean a whole lot. Yamato was going very high end at the end of their run and that appears to be where Arcadia has landed to. Therefore, both companies would just call T-Rex and say something like "We want vehicle Y with approximately X parts." So while the 0D and 19 both were Yamato projects, if they hadn't been they'd probably have come out the same.
