  1. I just ordered from NY. I thought about paying for it now given how strong the dollar is... I'll have to watch that and pay if I see the $ slipping.

While I do love the idea of a 1/100 toy that was a shrunken 1/60 and still solid, I think it would probably cost the same as the 1/60 toy and then obviously people would go for the bigger toy. If they're going for a universe where people can build fleets, then I think they'd be smart not to go that route. I predict people will end up going in for the oddball stuff like destroids and then start thinking "Man, I could use a valk for diorama purposes".

You need to qualify that more. Do you care if the landing gears look terrible and break easily? Do you care if the landing gear doors are just one big piece of plastic or do you want them to be the three door variety? If they shrunk a 1/60 toy down to 1/100 size and kept all the cool things about the 1/60 design then it would probably cost more than a 1/60 toy, are you cool with that? Do you want it to be cheaper because it's smaller? Do you care if Bandai has to reshape the sculpt somewhere to be less anime accurate to accommodate the shield? I think this really reflects the problem with the Macross merchandise market. Everyone wants something cheaper but no one wants to compromise on the premium attributes. I mean, I see that more in the Robotech market where people want to compare everything to Transformers but the problem definitely exists with Macross and I think that's why the Hi-Metal line didn't go further in the first place. For Robotech it's extreme, basically the fandom seems to think no toy should exceed $49.99 and should be amazing. I'm optimistic the line has a chance around this time since people won't be thinking "Why would I buy a 1/100 toy for $70 when I can wait for the Yamato 40% off scale and get a 1/60 toy for that amount."

Ugh... I feel that making the toy more complicated would be a big mistake. The thing held its own just fine against the bigger Yamato toys... the biggest improvements they could make is to add landing gears but at this scale I think that would be a mistake because they'd probably be fragile or look like crap.

Negative, that stuff is like 1/130 and these actually run a bit big, more like 1/90ish IIRC.

A Miria Hi-Metal toy? I've never seen that before. Was that a prototype or a custom? I was fairly confident only Max made it into the wild and he didn't come with super parts.
  7. I would argue the opposite, they're way more complicated than the 25s... not sure how you figure. Also, the things they have in common they have like 100% in common (ie the legs/pelvis).
  8. Check Craigslist for retail/commercial displays and trophy cases. I've seen some wonderful ones come up but I don't have the space
  9. I think you veered off thread there... so much Bandai news at once!

New Tamashii promotion, use the Tamashi app to scan in three purchased Hi-Metal R instructional manual barcodes from Regults you purchased and you'll get a code to order the scout regult on their website. Bandai, if you're looking for more cool ideas, let me know. I'm full of them! Tamashii website exclusive: Regult bonus parts! Convert your regult to light or heavy missile version. Comes with full-size Zentran soldier.
  11. Here's ebay, it's more like $210: http://www.ebay.com/itm/DX-Chogokin-VF-25S-Messiah-Valkyrie-Ozma-Lee-Renewal-Ver-/261665219088?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item3cec766210 Didn't notice this seller was a newb... but you can find them in that ballpark.
  12. When is the preorder available?
  13. I don't get why you put that in spoiler tags, it seems to be saying "The changes on the 29 were carried into the renewal 25 toys" meaning there's no difference so no need to talk about versions so if it confirms the point say it loud and proud... don't hide it.

Lies! The feet are metal. Note, the Takatoku 1/100 has a ton of metal if that's what floats your boat and you can get them for less than $100 sometimes also.
  15. They're reminding you to try to get in on the impossible preorder or you'll have to pay an arm and a leg later.
  16. I thought that was just a misnamed thread here on MW.
  17. Looks like 200 shipped isn't hard to find but still a bit of a mark up.

I think it should actually be bigger because the Konig is like 1/125 and is a smaller vehicle.
  19. Some crazy talk in here. The 29 is right there with renewal 25 toys but no need for the renewal name since it has only one version and was good from the beginning. The only toy that is questionable is the 27 and the original 27 had improvements over the original 25 so the updated 27 is pretty decent albeit not quite as superb as the 29 or 25. Don't muddy the waters with version talk on the 29.
  20. What is reasonable?

You could always go without super parts.
  22. There's a possibility that this thing is falling apart in fighter mode because it doesn't do a good job holding together with the super parts so I'm a little concerned. There's also the possibility whoever put it on the stand didn't notice they screwed it up with the way they were holding it.
  23. Not a T-Rex product.

A 1/100 monster might take the wind out of the sails of that 1/72 vinyl kit we've been oogling. If that kit is like $500 and this 1/100 is closer to $100 I'm guessing most will be satisfied with 1/100.
  25. Guys, the legs popped out of the tab and probably drifted downward a little bit... ya gotta live in three dimensions.
