I've encountered plenty of old brittle armor bits... I don't really trust them any more. I'm sure some or more resilient than others depending on how they were stored but you'll never be privvy to that information and even so, it may still be a crapshoot.

At 1/48 scale... is this thing like the size of an action figure? The old Matchbox is like 1/18 scale IIRC.

Yes, it sounds like it was a passion project that became way too demanding so he decided to move on.

Whoa... your perception is pretty far off base. M7 may be the second most popular Macross of all time. I hope Frontier has beat it out at this point but... yeah... M7 was huge for Macross. Obviously it didn't land well with Western young adult audiences ready for a gritty sequel to Macross but it blew up in Japan.

Lol, I remember that! That was a fascinating time as the market shifted from adults seeking bits of their childhood by grabbing vintage toys to toy companies building new toys for adults so they could have the toy they always dreamed of.

I think the arm transformation is a superior design to what Yamato and Arcadia gave us. The problem that I'm guessing Derex ran into, and many other have on both the VF-1 and VF-0, is that the arm, particularly on the first few transformation, doesn't slide on the rail like it's supposed to. If it's stiff and doesn't slide, the clip gets angled and the arm pops off. There's also a hinge that can be overly stiff so, after you've rotated the arms and you go to compress them into the lower position, instead of the hinge rotating and letting the arms sink down, the force is transferred through the hinge into the arms and can again cause the arms to pop off (or just not seat properly making everything look askew). If you luck out and yours aren't so stiff, or you spend some time on them in the first transformation going back and forth to loosen them a bit, the end result is pretty nice. Yes, at a larger scale the whole system would function better, but it does function here... sometimes it just needs some love first.

That was the impression I had also... They don't have the bandwidth and they wanted to go all out on 1/72. The SD line didn't seem to do horribly.

All Things Videogame Related: EXTREME VS!!
jenius replied to Keith's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
HG's claim only applies to merchandise, so I think as long as BW doesn't try to sell products of the forbidden cameos, it should be fine right? I know HG has implied something different but I think they're just being self aggrandizing. It's a great question though, can a macross plus game have a YF-19 flying in front of the SDF-1? Lots of circumstances that could be unclear.- 6831 replies

I believe the word you're looking for is "collecting."

Yeah, this toy sucks compared to later dx releases, I'm not excited if they haven't made basic improvements.

I would definitely second that! It feels like a no brainer with the secondary market demanding a premium on the QC plagued first release and the PF treatment having been done to the two other toys. C'mon Arcadia, get on it! Also, do a limited run of the CF at the same time and you'll save on costs!

Haha, I thought of doing one also!

Whoa, this was wild, I decided to try my Robotech version (once I realized they were the same I was going to just sell it off but now I had to know). In my Robotech version there's an extra baggy that includes two more bracers, one of each L&R. In more awesome news, the ones in the blister were screwed up in the opposite way from my Japanese release! Big S, check your Robotech release for a baggy of corrected parts.

The one in that pic looks like it would have the same problem. Funny follow-up, I opened up an Acid Rain Stronghold figure I have to show the weapons attached to the ride armor... first time I ever opened it. That toy has guns on either side of the head and wouldn't you know it... it came with two guns for the left side and none for the right. Is this just a joke they like to play? That's even more serious though since the guns are staggered differently left and right and the ride armor issue is just paint.

I would do a video on it. I couldn't convince myself to spend money on the first KOs because they were all paint jobs I owned the original toy on but if they're going to do things Arcadia never would, that seems fair game to me. I've never ordered from ShowZStore though, and I hate the idea of an open preorder with no solid ETA... so I'll probably wait before I put an order in somewhere.

Does anyone have the B2Five Yellow figure? It appears I received two right-hand bracers/gauntlets for mine. In bike mode, if I point the motorcycle to the right, the number is "10". If I point the bike to the left, the number is an upside down 10. Does anyone have the 10 look right in both directions? I just want to confirm it's a packaging issue for the one I have and not a universal problem.

They're a huge downgrade from the Arcadia in terms of feel, that's for sure. If you have the money and the desire to own only one, the choice is clear.
