Nah, the YF-21 super parts don't really add a lot.

Yeah, that had to be about the silliest implementation of a bolt-on we've seen yet. It definitely seems like the kind of thing you'd only get away with in Macross7. I'm not saying I wouldn't buy them... but I would say I'm okay with them not making them. The rumor last year was that all Arcadia licenses were reverting back to BW this year as part of the BW build-up to Macross Delta. As of the moment there's no telling which licenses they hold any more... with the obvious exception of Macross Zero. It would make sense for them to try to get the 7 license again with all the variants they can do and the existing molds they have. It also gives them a chance for brand new molds. So I love the idea of a VF-11C with armor... especially if the 11C were redone a bit to have better range of movement and a more user friendly canopy cover.

I'm not sure on the Arcadia color tweaks on the 0A or 0S right now. Sometimes I love them and sometimes I'm not so sure. I think the jury will be out for me until they're on my desk.

I like gritty OVAs and lighter (but not too light) series. I also miss bad guys with personalities.- 2715 replies

Yeah, as much as the valk alone at today's prices.

Well now I want them to be flexible bladders!

I'd love a vf30 cannon fodder as well... Or maybe have it start as the hero valk and be replaced mid season by something new- 2715 replies

I totally disagree. I love what they did with the VF-17 becoming the VF-171. In that example, it's not just the same valk with a different number. There are numerous design elements that were tweaked and I think the 171 is preferable to the 17. From a practical standpoint, it also gives toy manufacturers a reason to pursue making toys out of vehicles that previously didn't get much love. Would we have ever gotten a sweet VF-11B toy from Yamato if they didn't also have the opportunity to make the VF-11C from Macross7? I doubt it. So either rehashing a previous design for cannon fodder duty or doing a slight revision with some plot macguffin to give heroic paint schemes both get big thumbs up from me. Bring on the VF-211 (yeah, that's not gonna happen).- 2715 replies

So Hasbro Startscream and TT Thundercracker repaint. They are really milking that very tired mold.- 17086 replies

ooh man, been a while for me too... I don't remember a trick to the gun pod. If you're just having a hard time figuring out where to get your fingernails to pull the front section down then it might help to grab a piece of Scotch tape and let that help you out.

I like the idea that, in-universe, they just tried bolting the VF-25 boosters to other toys because they liked them and they worked well. My understanding was that Bandai was actually of the impression that the license had reverted to BigWest after Yamato bellied-up.I think though the second line nails it. It was a brief cameo that got people excited and talking about it so well worth it for no other reason than to promote the movie.

That list was back in April 2011. There's a list on anymoon.com that I believe was current through December 2013... which means it's also a little out of date now since it doesn't include the latest Hikaru+GBP release.

Ooh maybe they could do 1/24 action figures and create a whole line of 1/24 toys (Patlabor, Megazone, Votoms).

Votoms next?

I dunno, the PWS seems like the 2016 mold. I think your next guessing game is for a 2017 mold. Hope I'm wrong.

I gotta disagree on Winter Soldier. While it's very watchable I laughed a few times through that movie when I wasn't supposed to laugh. There's a whole bunch of stuff in that movie that is extremely over-the-top to the point it took me out of the movie. There's also stuff like Black Widow deciphering a password because she knows the buttons that were pressed... with no question as to how she'd know the sequence. Then there's bigger stuff like Fury cutting a hole in the ground to disappear without a question of what happened to the ground where he made the incision. Ant Man is on my Netflix queue.. mostly because my kids are too small for theaters.

You would never notice the lack of a back to the nosecone (because the wings block that area) so I'm sure it was a conscious decision by Toynami/Maiden Japan to save $1. I would probably find that pretty chintzy on a deluxe toy but it's the kind of omission that feels right at home on this budget attempt.

If I had a vote, I'd definitely go shorter than they're making them but it's not a big deal.

I found these measurements online so I can't swear by them: Dimensions: maneuver slave mode: overall height 3.85 meters; maneuver craft mode: overall height 0.94 meters, overall length 3.96 meters, overall width 1.35 meters You can do the math from there to calculate how big any toy should be in whatever scale you like and it ought to get you pretty close.

What's the scale on this thing?

Maybe we'll get a black Friday pre-order price on it.

I think it's saying the cannon fodder 0A is in 06.

1/24? i like the idea!
