  1. Mp10 is a better toy, Mp1 is a collector's item with diecast overkill and gimmicks galore. Playing with MP1 will lead to damage and the truck mode leaves a lot to be desired.
  2. There's a throwback problem.
  3. It's a VF-19Advance not a YF-19, couldn't the 'liberties' be canon to the different vehicle?
  4. So he can stab cars! Wow, that auto corrected to cats which is pretty morbid.
  5. I think the black triangles may still break on you but I think if you never move the knees you won't have to worry about the knee joint breaking. Can't swear to any of that though.
  6. Yeah, when i first saw this thread I was shocked that everyone wasn't voting Bandai for no other reason than the ankle joints on the Arcadia. I'm guessing most folks don't use GERWALK mode for the YF-19 (and I don't blame them) so it hasn't been an issue. Also, the Arcadia seems to have much more documented issues with the wings not holding position due to loose high speed mechanisms. I thought that was a one-two punch that would have the Arcadia far behind in this poll... it's been rather interesting see that not be the case.
  7. This is definitely not a toy I would buy with the hopes of reselling later for profit... I just can't imagine the premium would ever get very high for an obscure character.
  8. I think you are seeing only what you want to see. I see lots of good lists of pros and cons from people who have both and very little Arcadia bashing 'just because'.
  9. I was honestly a little let down by the 'feel' of the Arcadia YF-19. I'm not huge on all those wing weapons they provided but I was really let down to find out how poorly they hold together. The connection to the hard points are fine but those little pieces that grab the weapons are loose and make it kinda easy to knock the weapons off. It's not quite as bad as it was on the 1/48 toys but still... I expect tightness at this price point. I experienced the same thing on the gun. The magazine slides out super easy. Sadly I've been way too busy with school, child, and most recently the stomach flu to play with anything but I really expected something a little more crisp from the Arcadia.
  10. I guess it's possible that it was another guy and he was just told to differentiate it from the Yammy VF-17 as much as possible... but I think it was the same guy or else I probably wouldn't have heard anything. Also, I remember when the 171 CFs started falling apart he said that the specs had very specific requirements for tolerances that the factory had completely ignored. As to the level of complexity, that also might come down to specs laid out by the company ordering the design. I could easily imagine Yamato/Arcadia specifying fewer parts to help reduce costs and Bandai just saying "go nuts."
  11. I can check my old emails but I'm pretty sure it was the same guy. I remember there were specific requests to differentiate it from the Yammy VF17 he had done as much as possible. I'd guess the stupid wings are directly from a Bandai request as a money making scheme.
  12. I was told the 171 was designed by TRex but can't swear to it... If so, it's the guy that does Arcadia's stuff.
  13. Well ya gotta figure people who couldn't afford the Arcadia bought the Bandai but wouldn't feel right voting since they don't own both.
  14. I'm surprised the voting is so close.
  15. Wow, I'd forgotten just how bad the durability of those toys was... this thread definitely brings back memories. I'm glad Arcadia chose to revisit the series. While the toys are astronomically priced now there's no question they're better than the first go around, strange color choices and all. Unfortunately given the prices... I find myself gravitating back to more recent Bandai releases much more often... maybe because the sky high price has me afraid to touch my Arcadia stuff.
  16. Hmm, it might not be an industry-wide change. I can only surmise the same as you but it might be specific to NY. Like if NY used to be allowed payment on delivery but now NY is ordering a lot more stuff from Bandai (or perhaps a lot less) so that arrangement is no longer beneficial to Bandai. It might be a lot more stuff and NY took a ton of orders on items for delivery in those two months.
  17. Yeah, it looks like HIkaru's 1J but with blue piping instead of red.
  18. If you like the YF-19 you need a VF-19Advance. That's my story and I'm sticking to it (even though I've had limited time to handle mine).
  19. Gakken 1/35 is the best Legioss toy. The second best would by Toynami's MPC Alpha which does a really good job looking the part but the build quality is crap, the fists are made of recycled eraser dust, and frustration should be the expectation.
  20. Is this Mei Leelong's scheme? I'd be in for one.
  21. Paid... at the rate my Percival is traveling I have to wonder which will reach me first...
  22. So these were the models Toynami used as the basis for their "super poseable" toys?
  23. Wow, all those times the only thing I ever looked at in that pic were the blue destroids. Cool... now we need a green GBP to go on a Brown and Red VF-1A...
